Looking to automate many different things with our house. This included buying a Smartthings hub, an Amazon Echo, and pairing them with this Thermostat. Setting up everything has been pretty easy. I like being able to control the thermostat from the phone or through the Echo. Unfortunately at this point haven't experienced much with the smart part of the thermostat since the weather in Southern California has been perfect for the last 3 weeks.

Thermostat installation was fairly straight forward. Setup of app and thermostat was easy. It is versatile in its settings (home,away, vacation ,etc). I have the remote sensor in my bedroom and the temperature control is good. I am waiting to see what savings I will achieve with it.

Remote control and Remote sensor is my primary use of the ecobee, and it does not disappoint. My thermostat is in a hallway that does not provide an accurate representation of temperature throughout the home. The remote sensor is a life safer and I am able to maintain the temperature I want in the room I want. Secondly remote control. Once you've obtained a Wifi connected Thermostat, I doubt you'll ever go back. I turn on my heater/ac just before beginning my commute home via my cell. Awesome. And of course check to make sure I turned it off during the day. Unlike other wifi home automated devices, this had no issue with connecting to my wifi. The screen is clear and its temperature adjusted via the screen is easy to fine tune. I have yet to use any "learning" features so can not speak for any advanced programs. I simply turn it on and adjust temperatures via ap. Oh and its compatible with alexa, so you may adjust temperature just by telling her.

This is my 2nd review. This one will be short as I am upset with Best Buy for selectively not posting a review that probably took me 45 minutes writing and discussing information I thought would be useful for others deciding to purchase. Unfortunately, I don't have the desire to write it all again. So my main points. Good thermostat, easy install with "C" wire, detailed information (but still waiting for detailed reports, requires 1 month usage for more detailed info), price is high but ask to negotiate or price match. Purchased mine for $280. Thermostat + plus 2 pack sensor including sales tax. Looks good on my gray walls. Used the smallest mounting plate. Installed in 2016 new construction house. Took 1.5 hours to install and I am semi handy. Recommended.

I have been exceptionally pleased with this thermostat and it's ease of use. Works well with my Samsung Smartthing. Installation was easy and managing from my phone is a snap. The extra sensor helps the system keep our bedroom at the right temperature, which I could not do with nest.

We want to increase my Apple Homekit footprint and the name ecobee3 came up, with rave reviews. We bought 2 and our purchase was very timely as one of our old Honeywell thermostats failed and We jumped in and had the new ecobee3 installed by the electrician who we had called about the heater not working. We watched as he installed it, and were amazed at the ease of installation, and even more amazed at how simple it was to connect it to our HomeKit. After that experience we installed the 2nd ecobee3 we had purchased for the other zone. Voilá! Easy-peasey. Installed, hooked up, connected, and using in less than 45 minutes. The online videos are great. It is so easy to monitor the temperature in both of our zones, and gives us a lot of satisfaction knowing we are in control of our usage and power bill. You will not regret your purchase, and will wonder how you survived this long without the ecobee3. Excellent innovative company and product.

Great product. Works very well. It is easy to program and works great with Siri using Apple Homekit. The IOS app does have a few accessibility issues but once setup is finished it is very useable.

Simple installation and a simple way to control temperature in your home with natural gas system. Added sensors also make you device smarter. Before my bedroom was always hot now it senses when I'm there and temp is always comfortable. I expect this item to pay for itself.

As far as the features, I really like it. Problem I have is that my remote sensor keeps disconnecting almost daily for a few minutes and it's not out of range. I also have had issues with the unit rebooting by itself. Ecobee support has not been very responsive. It still works, but rather annoying that it does that. I also do feel that with above issues I cannot rely on the remote sensor only, so if I want to setup a profile that ignores the main unit and runs off of the sensor only, the above issues that I'm having caused me to reconsider doing that. I believe I can address it by buying extra sensors, but I don't think I should be spending $80 on improving overall reliability.

When I started to look into purchasing a Smart Thermostat I looked at a number of brands, watched videos, and looked at compatibility with other connected home items. The Ecobee was the item that was best suited for what I wanted. It is sleek, and looks great hanging on my wall. I do recommend looking at the compatibility for your HVAC system to make sure it connects up easily. The Ecobee does come with an adapter to make connections to older HVAC systems easy. My system did not have a C power wire, so I had to install the adapter to the control board of my furnace. There is a video and pictures and the whole process took about 15 minutes. So far I have been very pleased with this Thermostat and it does everything it advertises.

I love this thermostat. I bought two, one for the main floor and one for the second floor. They work very well, are easy to use and to program, and I really like the Android mobile app. They each came with one remote sensor, and I installed these as well.

I've been doing home improvements for a while now and this gadget is the best thing ever.

I've owned both devices and to cut to the chase, all things considered I would stick with the Ecobee. Hardware wise, the Nest takes the cake - metal and glass premium materials all around, it's gorgeous. The Ecobee on the other hand leaves a bit to be desired - feels almost cheap. The included room sensor, information dense display, HomeKit support and Apple Watch app all at the same pricepoint as the Nest make the Ecobee the clear winner.

The Ecobee3 is very easy to install; anyone can do it and works perfectly. remote sensor is very usefull in our case since the thermostate is not loxcated in the living room. With the remote wehave much better control over theperature around the house.

When my thermostat went bad I thought it might be nice to install a smart thermostat. I looked at the many brands and felt the Ecobee3 was the best fit. I took it home and watched the installation videos that Ecobee has put together. They are very good but I still had a question for them so I called the support number. They were top notch! They walked me through everything, made sure that I had the wiring right and stayed on the phone during configuration. Absolutely the best. I connected the Ecobee3 to my Amazon Echo and it worked with no issue. I wish there were a few more things I could do through the echo but I am sure those can be added later. I would definitely recommend this product.
