we're still getting used to it. Had a contractor install but seemed to go fine. easy to use

I switched from Nest to ecobee3 because I wanted a HomeKit compatible device. I read reviews that said the ecobee3 would be more difficult to install, but I thought it was incredibly easy. I was able to remove the Nest and install the ecobee3 in about 5 minutes. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that the remote sensor included is does both temperature and motion detection. I can use the motion detection in the remote sensor and/or the thermostat to trigger other HomeKit automation rules. I did find that the geofencing support for HomeKit forces you to pick a mode (heat or cool). I wanted to create a rule that turned the ecobee 3 to "away" when I leave home, but it doesn't support that. Instead, I have to set a specific temperature. This means I would have to change the rule each time I switched the system from cool to heat. That may be a homekit limitation - I'm not sure.

So far after the first month we saw a reduction in $50 on our electric bill. That could be a # of things but it surely had something to do with the Ecobee being installed. Looking forward to future months, and future savings. Install was very easy!

Incredible Thermostat! Very Accurate readings with the main piece and the remote sensor. It is kind of tricky to wire if you have an older HVAC system but once you get set up it's amazing.

I now have 4 ecobee3 's and I find them excellent. The detailed reports you get after 1 month of usage are good to see how effecient the schedule and temp setting is compared to others in my area . I also now understand how to adjust temp to keep the heat and air from running needlessly... The remote sensors work to keep a balance when doors to rooms are shut often.. So overall I am satisfied with units and service when I have questions.. One note: I had 2 remote sensors failing connecting to wifi, each was replaced by ecobee free of all charges..

Recently installed my new ecobee3 and I absolutely love it. Very easy to install and setup - 30 minutes tops before you're up and running. Right now only using the 1 additional sensor for downstairs and it helps regulate temps on the first floor amazingly well. Can't wait to get another ecobee3 for upstairs - along with some additional sensors and up and down. Love being able to change the schedule or hold temps from my iPhone while at work or on the way home. Love the Alexa functionality as well. Truly a great product!

I debated between Ecobee and Nest before settling on the Ecobee 3 with 2 additional sensors. Did a buy online (Android app), pickup in store. My house was built in the 40's and had been converted to central HVAC in the 90's, so I had no idea what I was going to run into during the installation. Luckily, the included documentation, online forums and phone support were awesome. My old thermostat did not include a C wire. I made a call to support on a Saturday morning and the rep not only told me how to wire up the Ecobee, she stayed on the phone with me until it was successfully working. Once I was up and running, getting the remote sensors working was a little more complicated. The documentation does not mention you need to be next to the main unit to activate. But that is a minor annoyance. I really like that the the Ecobee uses the sensors to determine the average temperature of the house and when to run the AC or heat. The house not only feels cooler, the AC runs less than before. I am looking forward to getting the monthly report to see if we are in fact saving money on the electric bill. One more thing, I really love the IFTTT integration. Leave the house and the Ecobee is set to away mode. When we are 1/4 mile from the house, the Ecobee comes back to occupied. Only grip is the sensor quality. In the first 2 weeks, the sensors would connect and disconnect. Ecobee must have sent out an update because they now stay connected all the time. Last, had one sensor go out and support was more than happy to send out a replacement.

The reason I went with the Ecobee and not a Nest, was its compatibility with Apple's HomeKit. The device is a great addition to my Smart Home, however I have run into some issues with the additional sensors for other rooms. Not the most accurate and don't always work. This is not a deal breaker as I wasn't planning on using these extra sensors anyway, as I have a fairly small apartment,

Great product. saving me money so far. wish it came with more sensors and the sensors were a little cheaper but overall a good value. app works great. also nice to voice control with apple home kit. also works with my harmony remote.

I was debating between this and the nest thermostat, I decided on the ecobee because of a few features. I like the extra sensors as it helps detect when you are home or not. Installation was easy and took me 15 minutes. Setup was very simple, but I had to run from the thermostat to computer a couple of times. I have a two story so I installed two of them. I wish they'd communicate with each other. I also wish they'd have a screen showing the sensors input. Not sure if I have them in a good spot or not.

Generally good product. Make sure that you have the right connections though.

Easy to set up Easy to use $100 rebate from utility company 23% savings sounds too good to be true, but I'll be happy if I save 10% off my bills. I figure with rebate and continued savings, this thing pays for itself in 1 year

I previously purchased a different wifi thermostat which turned out to be more work to install than it was worth. I intended on buying the Nest but after reading reviews on both, I went with the Ecobee and am glad I did. The installation was very easy, I had to contact support with a question and their response time was extremely fast, and the Ecobee app is very user friendly. Great product, highly recommend.

Every time you walked by the thermostat, it rings up and provide you the current temp and the weather and the range of temp. Definitely save some money along with having the additional zone helps keep the house efficient.

I love the idea I can adjust the temp anytime, anywhere! The backplate on the wall looks classy as well. So far so good!

Everything about the experience has been great. The install was incredibly easy and the instructions were extremely thorough. I love being able to ask Siri what the temperature is in my baby's room. And the fact that the sensors also provide humidity and motion detection through HomeKit is great. The user interface is slick and intuitive and the online tools are great too. It's too early to tell if it's saving me money, but it does promptly turn down the thermostat when I'm away.

We built a new home a year ago. The one thing it really was lacking, a smart home thermostat. We hit a sale and used rewards points to purchase. Installation was a breeze with the ecobee app. It took a couple of days but we noticed a difference in the amount of time the furnace was running. The app showed temperature remaining stable in the house. Only thing I'd recommend is adding additional sensors. Especially in a multilevel home like ours. It keeps the temp regulated nice.

I've preferred the Ecobee over other basically due to HomeKit integration and do not regret the ability to control my thermostats via Siri. The only problem is the geofence - but it's Apple's fault. HomeKit is not smart enough to understand that you want it to trigger only when all devices leave the fence. Still too early for any savings calculation. It did improve a lot the comfort on the second level. The thermostat is not in an ideal place but the sensor do a great job.

I bought this thermostat on the hopes it would help equalize the temperatures in my home and save energy in the process... It worked flawlessly!!! With this thermostat and 3 remote units I finally can walk through my home without feeling warm and cold spots. In full automatic mode it knows when we're home and adjusts the temperatures accordingly. I previously had a first generation nest thermostat and while it was good, it doesn't come close to the performance of this one...

I added the Ecobee3 and 2 extra sensors and I am very happy with the results so far. I had rooms that were too cold in the winter and this thermostat does a really good job of helping to balance the temperatures. I must admit that I don't know how it works without any changes to the ductwork, but it does. It is not perfect, but I have no complaints at all. It was also very easy to set up and included an additional piece to cover holes left by a larger traditional thermostat.
