I live across the country from my father who lives in Florida and has COPD. He's worried about the cost of running his air conditioning and I'm worried about his well-being. This device brings both of us great piece of mind. I installed the Ecobee and set-up the internet access in under thirty minutes. We simultaneously set-up the app on our phones and I walked him thru the setup and features. It was really easy. The great thing is I can check the status of the thermostat/HVAC AND check the temperature in Florida via the app. Now I know if the air needs to be cranked down a little to help his breathing. If he's been out of the house, he can set the air up or down ahead of time for max comfort. We monitor the monthly performance, comparing it to how he's felt and discuss if he's being too stingy for his own good. Last, but not least, it's a really nice looking device!

Think of it as the Nest plus. It adds a remote sensor to help it balance the temperature in that heating zone. It also adds compatibility with Apple Home Kit. Motion sensor knows when your home so even if not scheduled, it will automatically adjust temperature.

I absolutely love this thermostat! It was easy to set up and easy to schedule everything that I needed it to do...their customer service is the bomb as well. My screen wasn't working correctly, took a picture, sent it to them and within 5 days I had a whole new unit!

I purchased this thermostat for several reasons, I wanted a smart thermostat that can be controlled from my phone, as well as having remote sensor capability, and looks visually appealing in my home. This thermostat meets all of those criteria. Controls are easy, set up was quick (app walks you through every installation detail with pictures), and really helps to properly schedule varying temperatures throughout the day to save on heating/cooling bills. My only complaints are that the thermostat will restart randomly once in awhile. The restart only takes a minute so the house temperature isn't affected, but it is not ideal. Secondly, my furnace will short cycle one time before staying on until the desired temperature is met. This did not happen with my previous thermostat, and nothing else has changed. Overall, I am happy with the purchase but I was hoping for more consistent operation considering the price point. The issues mentioned do not cause any lapse in performance, but shouldn't be happening. My bills have decreased with the installation of this product, and having full control over it from anywhere via my phone is a luxury that is great to have.

I had a nest BUT it drove me nuts that you can't hold a temperature on a Nest thermostat. The Ecobee is much better. I can hold temp easily and the extra remote sensors really keep the whole home more comfortable. It also integrates with my Wink system.

I've been looking into smart thermostats for over two years, and after much research, decided that the ecobee was the right one for me. Why? They were the only smart thermostat company that took the time to respond when I sent in a photo of my wiring. Then it was just a matter of waiting for a sale. Installation was not a snap (on Easter Sunday), but the fine folks at ecobee's customer service helped with two phone calls. In less than an hour, my HVAC system was up and running, and it coexists with the other standard programable thermostat in the loft (a separate zone.) It is great to be able to change the temp settings when coming home at a time that is not in the ecobee's schedule. It will be interesting to see how the extra sensor helps in heating the coldest room in the house without having to use a portable heater next winter.

This little baby is great at running the house temperature. Installation is very easy with all the information as well as a hot line that answers with real people who help when needed. We ended up with 2 Eccobees as we have two zone service.

This thermostat has temp sensors for more than one room. Nest doesnt. Enough said

This system was easy to install and the step by step instructions were very helpful. I can program the temperature from my phone and it is comfortable when I arrive. This is used on a vacation home and we could not be happier with our purchase.

So far, love my ecobee3 with extra sensor. I can place the extra sensor in the upstairs room. The phone tech support with Ecobee was excellent. The tech stayed with me on the phone until we got the unit to work ~30-45 minutes. I emailed photos of my thermostat connection as we spoke on the phone. My blue common wire was wired in the house but not connected. It was just tuck behind my previous Robertshaw model 9600. I had to connect the blue common wire to the Ecobee and the furnace. Make sure to switch off the circuit breaker for the furnace first. This should turn off the power for both the thermostat and the furnace. Again call the tech support and you will save over $200 in installation fees. They were available on Saturdays. If you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, Ecobee can recommend a local HVAC contractor.

Ecobee 3 remote sensor was the deciding factor in my purchase, that works great!

Being able to set and monitor temperature remotely is a plus. The performance reports and alerts gives you feedback to save more money. Having sensors sync with the thermostat is a great feature to control the temperature in multiple rooms.

Ecobee3 Programmable thermostat is a great addition to my HomeKit collection of devices. Easy to install and access to knowledgeable support if needed. Plus the ability to boss around your inanimate objects by saying "Hey Siri" is awesome.

I replaced 1 of the 2 thermostats in my home with the Ecobee and I also plan to replace the 2nd with another Ecobee. Having the Remote Sensor fixes a long standing problem with 1 bed room that had consistently lower temperature's than the others.

I got the ecobee3 with the extra sensor and it is EXACTLY what I needed. The other sensor in my bedroom allows me to keep the temperature exactly how I want it at night when we sleep, and I can control the temp from anywhere in the world. Perfect!

Easy setup and works flawlessly. Love that the display shows the current indoor temperature unlike the Nest that shows the set temperature. Also, having the main display show the temperature outside is a huge benefit as well. Overall very happy.

This was really easy to install, comes with a cover and a built in level. I'm not a pro but the walk through video made it so easy. I already see a difference on my bill. The device works great with my phone( siri doesn't understand me sometimes).

Easy to install, even for the most unhandy homeowner on the planet, connected instantly to wifi and my phone and we were off and running. The hardest part is leaving it alone once you get it set up because it's so fun to play with.

I love this thermostat. We have legitimately saved enough money over the course of this year to almost pay for this device. The greatest feature in my opinion is their use of multiple sensors. This allows us to create zoning without zoning. For instance, in our house, our bedroom is coolest at night compared to other parts of the house; the way we like it. I set the sensor in our bedroom at night to be the only one active and during the summer, we barely use our AC and when it does run, it's to make us comfortable where we need it most. Obviously, this switches in the winter a bit but we still have greater comfort as a whole. I'm an analytics geek too so their platform is so cool as well to track usage. Overall, this is a great device, and because of the sensors, a better device than Nest.
