More even than Nest - not as many features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We switched over to Ecobee from Nest because the upstairs and downstairs were drastically different temperatures. This solves that problem, but you do lose a few features. This thermostat isn't quite as smart when it comes to schedules - you tell it what to do, and it doesn't really learn beyond that. It will adjust if it recognizes you're home and not away, but that's about it. But all in all I'm much happier with Ecobee simply because of the different room settings. Definitely recommended for two-story homes where the heating/cooling zones matter.

Essential device for the smart home

One day I was in Best Buy and had a conversation with someone who had purchased the Nest and he had several complaints, primarily related to the inability to track presence beyond one room. This feedback sealed the deal for me so I decided to go with the exobee.

Works great - great customer service

Great thermostat - outstanding support!

It allows my heating and cooling to be smart and responsive to when my house is occupied or not. The best part was the support - I had a little problem with the connection (my air handler had some mislabeled wires), and the support person stayed on the phone and walked me through the installation. Awesome!

Saves Money

With the sensors, it automatically adjusts when someone is home or not. Also great to see local weather right on the screen. Only downside was connecting the adapter in the unit to go from 4 wire to 5 wire. Only took about 10 minutes though.

Best Smart Thermostat

The smart thermostat sensors you can place around the house make a huge difference. This is how a real thermostat should work. At night it only monitors our kids bedrooms to ensure they are warm and during the day it keeps the rest of the house at the proper temperature. Hands down better than Nest.
