Easy to install, slick hardware and excellent app. The remote sensors put this thermostat above its competitors. Highly recommended!

I installed my Ecocbee3 thermostat and three sensors about a month ago and could not be more impressed. It was easy to install and setup. The mobile app and desktop dashboard are both intuitive and informative. My family used to complain about hot/cold spots in the house and now they dont. The smart features are also impressive.

Excellent Thermostat. Beats Nest hands down for a couple of reasons: If you own a large house and have two floors, the remote sensor will make a huge difference allowing you to only control the areas you care about. The software has been improving and the tracking is awesome too. The thermostat is also scalable: You can have more sensors on a larger house. It can be integrated into your home automation and is reliable. The only quirk I am still finding is that firmware updates are pushed by Ecobee rather than pulled by the user so they can occur at very bad times. I would rather have control over it. Also the fact that it is integrated, there is a concern that an upgrade may break the integration to other devices. So an upgrade may be unwanted.

I just installed it today and it couldn't have been the easiest thermostat I have ever installed ever. Once I connected everything, it prompted for everything and once I did that, it worked flawlessly. I then later on downloaded the app and registered my device and I now can control my Ecobee3 with my phone now. This thermostat works well with heat pumps, which I have. I highly recommend this thermostat.

I love my Ecobee3 and chose it over the Nest and Lyric because of the remote sensors. It was simple to install and looks great.

The ecobee3 is great. I have two of them installed. I suggest for everyone to have. Install was a breeze and took 10 min.

Installation was easy (much easier that other SMART Thermostats I've used). The user interface is amazing and very well thought out. Customer support is excellent. The one great advantage of this produce is remote sensors. So the temp can be where you want it (not in the hall where the thermostat is).

This thermostat has been the best ever! I love the remote sensors, that fact alone blows Nest out of the water.

I have this plus a two-pack of extra sensors in a rental unit. It lets me be sure that I keep a close eye on the place when the tenants are out for long periods of time, and manage and measure energy use. I am as happy with the Ecobee as any product I've ever purchased, especially since internet connected things, and things that require installation in unknown conditions can be iffy. The interface is beautiful, easy to use, and shows great attention to detail, that tells me a lot about the care involved in the whole product. Customer service is by far the best I've gotten on anything like this in decades of dealing with customer service :-) They're phone support staff is friendly, almost deliriously knowledgable, and knows how to describe what you need in plain, non-technical speak. They worked with me on an install in a really weird gnarly old system, as well as one other time that I needed assistance. They were A+ both times.

The ecobee 3 is absolutely the best! I reviewed several including the Nest and nothing came close.

Have had my unit for a little over 2 months now... highly recommend for those looking to save money ande reduce energy consumption. The one (1) wireless sensor that comes with this product allows me to control the temp in the room I am in most frequently. Before EcoBee, my thermostat monitored only the room it was installed in to control the temp of my entire home. Unfortunately, the thermostat is located in the diniing room where the temp is always much cooler than the rest of my home due to poor insulation. With EcoBee I finally can control the temp I am in most which has reduced my heating/electrical bill by 18% from the previous 2 months. This stat comes from monitoring my DTE power useage via there "Insight" app - which I also highly recommmend. The Ecobee main unit comes with to mounts to ensure you have a size to accurately cover the unit you replace. Installation is very simple with the instructions they provide.

I've had the ecobee3 for about 3 months now and works perfect! Has drastically reduced our electric bill by being able to control it from work when my wife leaves the house. The sensors also help so we are always at a good temperature no matter what part of the house we are in.

I love the ecobee3! Ive had it installed for one week now and I am obsessed with it. I researched it extensively along with the Nest and Honeywell smart thermostats and I'm so happy with my decision to purchase this unit. Installation using the ecobee videos took about an hour and was straight forward; including installation of the PEK. Some of the key features that make this product great for me are: its ability to turn the fan on when the unit isn't heating/cooling to circulate the air, the mobile app is great for making adjustments while when not at home (although not as robust with features as the desktop web portal), the ability to remotely monitor temperature in multiple rooms, the IFTTT compatibility... but by far the best feature is the external sensors. These little guys have managed to balance the temperature throughout my house! Something that I have wanted for a long time. This is a great thermostat developed by Canadians!

Best smart thermostat on the market right now. I love how easy it is to control and how it can integrate into your smart home. The remote thermometer also helps with setting a more exact temperature to a room. Originally purchased a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat, but their lack of SmartThings support steered me away, and I am very happy it did.

After doing extensive research, I determined that this thermostat beat the Nest 3rd Gen without question. What sold me was the remote sensors and the touch screen interface. So far it has worked like a champ and I've been glad I picked it over the Nest. Would highly recommend!

This device is one of my favorite in the house. Love being able to control my house remotely.

I placed two in my home a year ago. It took a few days to configure the units to my system. (User learning curve I guess) once it was up and running it was light years ahead of my previous thermostats. I was able to control them through my phone and I did see a little drop in my bill. The Texas summer was under control and the units didn't have to run continuously to cool off the hall way. It's worth the investment.

I am the proud owner of an Ecobee3 thermostat. I have a home with two zones, consequently I have two thermostats. Each thermostat has three sensors which provide occupancy and temperature information for various locations throughout our home. The sensors are unique to Ecobee as they provide environmental information which through a special algorithim balances temperature to all rooms. It even identifies occupancy!

Bought 2 Ecobee3 thermostats plus 2 extra sensors to replace 2 Nest thermostats. My house is the most comfortable it has ever been since we moved in 6 plus years ago. The thermostats plus remote sensors are as close as you can come to a zoned system without the expense.
