I was looking to replace an aging programmable and I tried the Honeywell without success, so Ecobee was my choice over the Nest. The sensors and some other abilities are what really sold me on the Ecobee. On top of the great product, Ecobee also has a great community of helpful people if you run into troubles or have questions with setup. If you are looking for the best out there, look no further than here.

I've had one of these installed for almost 2 weeks now and LOVE it!!! I highly recommend the ecobee3 over the other smart thermostats out there. The ability to add sensors around the house to get a more accurate reading and temperature controls is a huge plus! Also, the controls are extremely easy to use and setup. Connecting it to Apple HomeKit and my AppleTV was also very quick and easy. It works great with Siri. I also love the weather app featured on the thermostat itself gets used every morning as I walk past it. I wanted a Nest for a long time, but then found this and don't regret going with the ecobee3 over the competition one bit. Like I said before, I highly recommend this!

I love this thermostat. It is hard for me to believe I would be so excited about a thermostat, but this one is awesome. It is simple to use, yet extremely powerful. I thought the installation was very easy, so don't let the other reviews scare you, unless you should. I have two of these, with two remote sensors each. You can really do a lot to customize it to your liking. My main floor Ecobee is hooked up to my furnace mounted humidifier. Being the type of person I am, I spent the first several days during the last cold front looking at my systems daily reports and tweaking it. This is not necessary, but if you are so inclined you can. Like I said, simple yet powerful. It has a very friendly and navigable interface and yet under the covers it is doing all the work. Do yourself a favor and read the data on the Ecobee site, see for yourself all it can do.

This thermostat is so easy to use and is so nice to be able to activate your Heater/Air Condition while your on your way home so the house is comfortable once you get there. If you need a thermostat to work with your smart phone I highly recommend this one

This thermostat blows all the other supposedly smart thermostats out of the water. It is beautifully designed with an intuitive interface and well thought out features. The remote sensors provide much more customization and "smartness". The app and web interface provide great information and are also easy to use.

When I first decided to buy a smart thermostat, I was leaning toward Nest due to their marketing campaign. I am glad I did my research. Ecobee has remote sensors to better keep your house evenly heated or cooled as well as an awesome touch screen interface. Ecobee is probably the best purchase I made all year, and it will pay for itself over time with energy savings!

this was a great buy. super simple install, even tho i need the power extender ( which was included ). its nice to look at the reports online about my home

When I was in the market for a smart thermostat, the Ecobee3 topped the list. The app does a great job helping you to install it, with helpful videos for each step. The thermostat was a breeze to pair and setup, and best of all "it just works"! I love that you can have multiple sensors throughout the house and that it intelligently determines the setpoint based on them. The Smart Home/Away feature is great because you can set a schedule and not have to worry about adjusting it because if you are set to away and happen to be home it will recognize that and keep your "Home" comfort settings active. I like how it is compatible with Alexa, IFTTT and SmartThings, though admittedly I haven't had to make use of that because it does a good enough job on it's own!

This is a awesome thermostat. It is very easy to install and very easy to use. Keeps the rooms you occupy at the temperature you desire.The more sensors you add the better the system works and helps conserve energy

My bedroom has lots of windows but the thermostat is in the hall and can't sense the temperature while I'm sleeping. I used to have to guess the right temperature to set the AC at each night and I'd often wake up freezing or sweating. Now, the remote sensor of the Ecobee3 overrides the temperature in the hallway and even starts warming up my place as soon as I've woken up in the morning. The wiring was really easy despite replacing a Trane that had different letters. I used the compatibility checker on their website and they sent me a simple edit to the instructions that made it a breeze. The install did take me ~3 hours because I had to deal with a larger than expected hole behind the old thermostat but it wasn't challenging, just annoying.

The Ecobee3 was very easy to install and setup. I did not have a C wire so I had to install the power module in my furnace but it was very easy. Just a few wires and it was ready to go. I love the remote sensors. I have 5 of them around my house and it's great to be able to see what the temperature is in different areas of the house. I have a heated garage so I installed a sensor out there too just so I could monitor the temperature in the garage. It's not included in the comfort zones so it does not control my house furnace. I just use it as a monitor. I work from home sometimes and it's great that the sensors see that I am home and adjust the temperature automatically. I don't have to change the schedule in the ecobee3.

Love my ecobee. This is the only thermostat that has separate sensors. One comes with it and you can buy extras. So easy to set up and use, and had already saved me money in the few months I have had it. It will pay for itself in a year (not counting the rebate from the power company). I can't say enough good things about this product.

If you have a situation where the placement of your thermostat is not ideal then this is the product for you! I have a long hallway with bedrooms on either end. By using the remote sensor we were able to save over 10% monthly by using the sensor in our bedroom to keep the temp reasonable but not freezing out the hallway. It only comes on when we are in the room saving considerable cost over keeping the thermostat at a lower temp all the time. Easy install and well worth the investment. It paid for itself in one year over the programmable thermostat I had previously. I have not seen that type of savings since programmables became common place in the market. I bought a second one for the other side of my house.

This things is great. I'm an iOS user and love the HomeKit integration. Controlling temperature with Siri is one of those things I thought I'd never use until I was working in my office, tied up so I couldn't move for a while. "Hey Siri, turn the heat up" & suddenly I'm a huge fan of the feature. Having the heat or AC turn off when I'm not home or on when I'm coming home is great. We had a freak 80 day in the middle of October & I just pulled out my phone and turned on the AC when I left work, it was nice and comfy when I got home. The remote sensors are anoth thing I thought would not be too useful but have proven to be great. I plan on ordering a few to put around the house.

This thermostat is an amazing product. It took me perhaps three months of reading reviews and making notes to decide on which thermostat to buy, and I think I have make the correct decision. This is the only smart thermostat out that that can accurately keep temperatures between rooms and floors somewhat consistent, due to the remote sensors. Now you can have it comfortable in the room or area you are in! I did run an additional wire to connect the thermostat, but in our case this was an easy task. Gas company provided a rebate, making it easy. Perhaps one of the best purchases in a long time. I think of the big name smart thermostats on the market, this one is the best choice.

When looking into smart wifi thermostats, I compared a number of different leading brands before I decided on the EcoBee. The feature set of the EcoBee is far beyond that of the competitors. The remote sensors and design of the device really won me over. Having used it for 2 months, I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone.

The Nest may have revolutionized the thermostat world, but every new product has it's drawbacks and the Ecobee has filled in the gaps where the Nest and other smart thermostats are lacking. The temperature difference between the basement and my daughter's bedroom can be over 10 degrees Fahrenheit at some points in the day which makes temperature control a big issue in our home. With the Ecobee smart sensors I am able to regulate temperatures in my home as a whole unit when my old thermostat only knew what the temperature was in the hallway. Smart sensors are just one way the Ecobee is a great product and how it has helped me save on energy costs while keeping my home comfortable.

Amazing, innovative product....easy to install and work the price for benefit of lower energy costs!! Much better than old NEST
