I do not know how I managed without my ecobee3! I love being able to check on the status of my system, and make changes from anywhere in the world with the press of a button. Best of all, the remote sensors give my thermostat a better picture of what is going on in my house to insure I am comfortable.

I purchased the ecobee3 so that I could control my temperature from work or anywhere over the internet using my phone. Hooking up to the internet was very easy and the ecobee3 iPhone app works great. It allows me to see and edit my temperature along with adjusting comfort schedules. The ecobee3 comes with one sensor that you can put anywhere within about 45 feet of the ecobee3 thermostat. I purchased 2 more sensors so that I could allow ecobee3 to manage the temperature in other rooms using the sensors. I really like the follow me mode, that allows the ecobee3 to adjust the temperature in whatever room where a sensor is when it senses my presence. I highly recommend.

I have 6 months using the ecobee3 unit and has been a very pleasant experience. Not only give you a great control of your climate environment but also a very visible energy saving. The capacity to add sensors to critical areas of your home is one of the many features that put ecobee3 over the competence.

Since purchasing my Ecobee my electric bills have gone down and the comfort levels in my house have gone up. What else is there to say about a thermostat. Installation was easy and the addition of remote sensors lowered my bills ever more.

This unit by far exceeded my expectation. I was debating between this and the NEST. After reading so many reviews I went with this and do not regret it. First off it looks very nice once installed. Very nice hi-tech appeal to it. Second the configuration is so easy. It is easy to set a schedule of what temperatures you want at different times during the day. Third great customer service. I had to call them for a quick technical question and their team looked to be knowledgeable and there was little to NO waiting time. Overall I highly suggest this to anyone looking to put this in their home. I needed a new AC install so I paired this with my 4 ton Trane unit.

If you have a Wink hub, get an ecobee3 if you're looking for a smart thermostat. You can use the Wink app as well as the ecobee3 app, and it's HomeKit enabled, so no matter how you want to control it, you're all set. My son actually prefers this over his Nest because of the remote sensors.

This is a fantastic, flexible smart thermostat for any home. For my use case, it was perfect for a couple of reasons. It balances user control with internal intelligence and the ability to get data from its remote sensors. Ultimate story - great comfort with simultaneous energy savings.

So far it's going well. I have a two zone set-up and getting them to work together was simple. I'm sure I'll be making some adjustments to the schedules but way more control than I've ever had over my heating and cooling.

Best thermostat on the market. Remote sensors make this a must buy over the Nest. Customer support is also excellent and quick. Easy to install.

This is by far the best thermostat I have owned so far. My only complaint is that their support is sometimes very slow to respond to support requests. I also think that if they dropped the price by $25 to $50, they would definitely sell more than Honeywell and/or Nest.

The ecobee3 is hands down the most advanced "smart" thermostat on the market today. Simply the fact that it supports wireless remote sensors is enough to crown the winner, but also coupled with the looks, ease of install, and HomeKit support the gap only increases.

When I first started looking at smart thermostats I looked at the newest and Honeywell. I have heard mixed reviews about the nest and the Honeywell was nice but it looked very big. I came across the ecobee that was small and got great reviews. It was really easy to install and set up. I love sensors which was my ultimate deciding factor that allow the thermostat to know someone is home and adjust accordingly. So far even though it has been over 100° in VA this summer I have seen a little dip on my electricity bill compared to this time last year. Great buy you won't be disappointed.

Apart from obvious benefits of a programmable thermostat it has these 'extras': 1) it can be controlled from my phone (app) 2) it integrates with Amazon Echo 3) it auto detects based on a room sensor if there are someone at home and adjusts based on that (hang it up so pets don't confuse it) And most importantly they have fantastic installation help customer service. I couldn't figure out how to get it working (turned out one wire from my AC/heater unit wasn't going all the way up to the thermostat but he helped me fix it so I didn't need the 'adapter' Do ....get one

I just recently installed a couple of these to replace my Nests and this works a lot better for my home. It's all because of the sensors. (Most?) All other thermostats are able to only read the temp from the area of which the thermostat is located so this could be good or bad depending on your home. In my home I have 2 separate HVAC systems (1 each for upstairs and downstairs) so I had to get 2 of these. In my downstairs, the media room (my man cave) is at the front of the house and it would typically run 2-4 degrees warmers than the living room, where the thermostat is located. So this meant that even having the AC set to come on a certain temps, wouldn't happen because the living is below the setting while my media is much warmer. This meant me either having to turn on a fan or manually manage the thermostat. I like to set things and leave them be. But with this I now have a sensor in this room so over this past weekend, the AC came on several times because the system recognized the room was increasing the overall temperature and therefore looks to lower the overall temp. Perfect. And upstairs, sort of the same thing. A couple of the bedrooms (where my kids sleep) run much warmer/cooler than the loft (where the thermostat is) and therefore their rooms would be at uncomfortable temps through the night. So I placed sensors in all of the bedrooms and temps in the rooms have been much better the last few nights. My home is 3200 sq ft and I would say for a home that is medium to large, it's best to have a system like this. The sensors makes this a much smarter thermostat than other. For smaller homes/apartments, the Nest would be ok. 1 main thing I wish it had was the ability to manually turn on the fan for a set about of time and then go off. For instance on the nest if I felt a little warm or I need to air out the house, I could just turn the fan on for an hour and never think about it again. Don't seem to be able to do that here unless I manually turned it on and off myself. However, it does have an auto fan feature that will turn the fan on 5-55 mins per hour to help keep the temps leveled out. Something Nest doesn't do. So it's a trade off here. The app is great and touch screen on the unit is good too. I have integrated it into my Homekit setup so I can control it with Siri or build custom scenes with my Philips Hue lights according to my needs. Overall this is a great thermostat that is working well for me now.

I've been super happy with the ecobee 3 thermostat. I almost bought the Nest, but my neighbor told me about the remote sensors and the integration with HomeKit and I was sold. I have better control over the temperature of my entire house instead of just the main level. I've also saved money on utilities because the systems allows me to create comfort settings that work from day one. It's also cool that it recognizes when I'm not home or in a certain area of the house so that the HVAC system isn't just running to run. Great product that I'd recommend to anyone.

I spent a long time comparing both the Ecobee3 and the Nest thermostats. What finally sold me on the Ecobee was the remote sensor feature. It only makes sense that a thermostat not only know the temperature of its installed location but also of the entire house. I plan to buy more sensors because I placed my single sensor upstairs. The Ecobee does an amazing job of making our home comfortable. And now that the price has been reduced, it made me pull the trigger. Installation was easy and everything worked out of the box. I love my Ecobee3. I chose it over the Nest and other thermostats because of the remote sensors. the remote sensors work great in my kids rooms to ensure they have a good night sleep. easy to set up and run. less then 10 min to install and have running.

I read many reviews on the smart thermostats and chose ecobee3 because it had great customer support, had the features I wanted, and also had a web interface instead of relying only on phone apps. It was easy to install. Everything was included and setup went quickly. I really like the remote sensor. Set up with our SmartThings hub also went well, so I can see/control the thermostat from anywhere and set up some IFTTT to add some specific controls. We like it so much that we just bought a second one to replace the thermostat upstairs.

I've had this ecobee3 smart thermostat for about two weeks now and I'm very happy with my purchase! I love the remote sensor and option to add more! It's very intuitive to use and it looks nice on the wall. I considered a Nest as well, but decided on this ecobee3 instead because of the touch screen and remote sensors. I had to install the "booster" box onto my furnace wiring, which was very easy thanks to the ecobee app, but if you're not too comfortable with wiring I'd suggest help. All in all, excellent thermostat and support!

The ecobee3 was easy to install and the user interface is very simple/intuitive. My wife is not a huge fan of gadgets or home automation, but she found this the easiest to use of all the smart thermostats. The room sensors are next level in terms of managing home comfort and with the newly announced integration with Keen smart vents are definitely a game changer. I see more room sensors and a few smart vents in my future. Highly recommend for anyone looking to save money and increase both home comfort and efficiency.
