I installed myself, took about 2 hours, 20 year old AC unit. Needed to climb into the attic to connect the air handler. The unit has worked well and makes my life easier.

I have multiple ecobees in my house. They work well as advertised. Easy to install if you done any home improvements before. Just take pics of the old wiring before you start. Love the remote senors - makes all the difference compared to Nest

After many weeks of research between the Nest and the ecobee3, my wife and I settled on the ecobee3 at Best Buy due to the price differential being on sale. It was incredibly easy to install and only took about 30 minutes after I saw several of the videos on YouTube. I ended up purchasing two additional sensors for other rooms in our house which is what most people online recommend. Once the thermostat was completely booted up and connected to a Wi-Fi as well as all the remote sensors we let it do its thing for several weeks. The ecobee works best once it has time to adjust to your schedule in the surroundings in the house as well as the external temperature and environment. We have been using the ecobee for a few months now and are very pleased with it. It gives you numerous diagnostics and reports that tell you how efficiently or effectively you are running your thermostat based on internal and external temperatures. One nice thing is it also compares you to other homes in the region with similar characteristics. So far after a couple of months we have already saved about $35 in electricity due to the Ecobee efficient settings. We are hoping that once the winter months start, we will be able to save even more. The mobile app is very nice and easy to use especially on a tablet; it gives you the accessibility anywhere you have a data connection. This thing has been amazing! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get serious in smart thermostats.

This thermostat comes with all devices required to install it. If you only have 4 strands in your thermostat cable, you can use the included adapter. Takes 10 minutes to install. The website gives you reports of AC usage vs temperature. The remote sensors are good specially if you have a room far from the thermostat. Ecobee just enabled the remote sensors in the Ecobee lite. If you only have the AC unit (no dehumidifier for example) you can buy the lite version and save $30.

We debated between the Nest and the Ecobee. Very happy with Ecobee. Able to get weather. App on phone/ipad is a breeze. We have added 2 little bees and may add more.

Easy to install although I had to call customer support to get assistance with the wiring diagram since mine wasn't listed in the book. They called me back within 15 minutes of making the call and it was around 7pm (I was impressed). I love the ability to set the temperature away from home, have it know when I leave the house, set min/max/locks on the temperatures (kids), and the detailed reports of temperature outside versus when your unit runs. Would definitely buy again.

This thing was a life saver for our single zone home and mostly because of the remote sensors. Our finished basement was always cold, because once the first floor heated up, the head would shut off. With the remote sensors (we purchased 2 additional for this thermostat), the heat runs a bit longer to warm the basement. This thing is SMART! It doesn't run the furnace non-stop trying to make everything be up to temperature. It does its best and uses the occupancy sensors to know if it's even worth trying to fully heat an area. Easy to install, easy to setup, great app that completely mimics the display on the device and great web based and ipad based UIs Highly recommended and I've already had 2 people purchase on my suggestion.

I was a big fan of the Nest thermostat, but we live in a two story house and keeping the temperature balanced between the two floors has always been a problem. The ecobee3 has been great for us so far in making the rooms better - we have 3 sensors in total. The only complaints I have are that the user interface is a little more clunky than the clean interface of the Nest (but that's something you can get used to) and I haven't been able to find a way to disable a sensor for a short period of time, such as when I'm working from home and use the space heater in that room only. In that case, it turns the air conditioner on because it thinks the house is too warm - but it's a small price to pay for otherwise incredible functionality! We'll be adding more sensors soon and expect it to be even better.

This thermostat was very simple to install using the directions included. Not only that, but it works great! Because of the layout of our house, the remote sensors was a big selling point and have already proven to keep the house at a more comfortable temp. My wife has even asked me to turn the heat down, which never happened before! The feature on the sensors where they override the schedule if you are home, have also worked wonderfully. I have already recommended to many friends.

Easy install, easy programming, saves money! This is our third one. The software console allows us to manage the whole house. It is also great to track usage in our house in relation to others in our area.

Best thermostat. Easy installation. Can change program etc right from your iPhone or iPad. Has sensors to monitor different rooms. Very smart thermostat.

I have a single zone heating/cooling system throughout my house and wanted 1) a wifi connected thermostat and 2) a means to regulate the temperature in a room that the thermostat is not in. I reviewed different wifi thermostats and chose the Ecobee because it supports multiple remote sensors, so you can have the thermostat turn the heat/AC on or off based on the room with the sensor, not the room with the thermostat. Installing the thermostat was a bit complicated because my furnace is an old system without a C-wire but there is a kit included with the thermostat which lets you use old systems, it just requires someone who's competent at re-wiring a few wires. So far the wifi features have been great (I can start warming up my home during my commute home because when I actually leave work varies everyday). The only complaint so far is the the sensor included with the purchase was defective in 2 ways: the motion detection was broken and the remote sensor also has a hard time maintaining sync with the thermostat. I've contacted ecobee's customer service and they're sending a new sensor so hopefully that will solve the issue. The customer service experience was also positive throughout this process.

The biggest feature that I love about this device is the ability to put sensors in rooms and set the thermostat to pay attention to the bedroom sensor at night for example. Easy install, did it myself.

We already have Echo and we wanted something that would easily integrate with that. Echobee seemed to be the easiest solution. It was very easy to install on the wall. It looks great. Installing it to our air handler proved to be another matter all together. We don't have any identifying markers for our wires. It looks more like spaghetti. All the videos showed nice clean boards with wires attached to a bar with screws or tabs. Nope we had wires connected everywhere with cap screws. We muddled through, we have no real electrical experience either, yet we were finally able to get it all connected and found the infamous "C" wire through process of elimination. I have the app on my Pebble, all our phones and tablets. Let the a/c wars begin!

Easy install and great looks and performance! Just be prepared for a significant amount of time for the unit to do its calibration!...like 10 minutes or better. Their website is awesome too!

The Ecobee was Purchased for our dealership and we have a Trane heating unit which after calling the Ecobee support team (they were great to work with on the issue we had) we found out that our unit required a little more than we had thought so we brought in a professional and because of the extra sensor the temperatures are perfect at the times we need them to be, very user friendly as well! I am thinking of getting one for my house now.

I did my research between the ecobee3, Nest and Honeywell Smart Wi-Fi thermostat. After reading several reviews, thru reliable sources online and customer feedbacks. I decided to go with the ecobee3 thermostat. Easy to install and like some others say their Customer Support are friendly and very helpful with any questions you may have. So far after a full month of using the ecobee3, got my electric bill $13 cheaper compared to August 2014 bill. So eventually this unit will pay for itself and put some money back in your pocket. Well worth it.

I'm sure this product is awesome judging by the other reviews. The packaging and build quality of the unit were all top notch, and the instructions were concise and well laid out. Ultimately, however, none of this did me any good as this unit is not compatible with my particular lennox furnace because of the way the thermostat interacts with a secondary control module attached to the furnace. I would have had to run an entire new set of wires through the wall and floor between the two to make it work, which just wasn't feasible for me. Ecobee has a great tool on their website to ensure compatibility with your setup, so be sure to visit that first before you buy. Thankfully, BB has a great return policy so I got my money back, minus the time and gas spent traveling to and from the store, and the couple of hours I wasted trying to get the thing to work with my incompatible furnace.

I am very happy with my ecobee3 thermostat. I had a very good Honeywell 7-Day programmable thermostat that served me well for many years. However, my new thermostat is the Einstein of smart thermostats. I had a little difficulty with the install because of the power requirements' extra wire (I had batteries for power), but ecobee customer support was terrific and easy to reach. I like all the features. It also controls my AprilAire humidifier.

I love this thermostat works great the sensors are very helpful I can see the temperature in each room and it quickly learned when I'm home and away and adjust the temperature accordingly
