Pretty easy to install. Works well with iPhone. During installation, unit wouldn't recognize green wire. Tried several times, all to no avail. Stripped insulation, cut a new tip. Nothing. Could not find any help as to the problem. Unit reads my house as 2 degrees different from 4 year old unit I took out (not an Echobee). My house at 70 degrees feels cool, not a true 70 degrees that I have measured with two digital temperature units. Nice to use my voice to increase and lower temperature if I can't get easy access to my phone.

Great for fine tuning You heater to avoid using aux heat on heat pump. Automation is great. Only gripe is it would be great if it was recognized as an Echo device. Unable to setup routines to have Alexa do several tasks when you say something.

I know a few people who upgraded to smart thermostats and finally decided to make the change. O love the ecobee4. It worked so well that I also purchased 2 additional sensors and have finally been able to achieve a balanced temperature throughout the house. We all use the Alexa program that it comes with and I no longer need to remember when to change filters and do maintenance as I am able to set alerts that show up both on the thermostat and the app.

We upgraded our Ecobee 3 with the new model hoping it would work better with our natural gas / AC. Like the Ecobee 3 it works a while then starts malfunctioning. It will run normally turning heat/ac on and off as needed, after a week it fails to start the heat but runs the fan like the heat is running. Had the HVAC guys come out and verify no issues with the gas furnace unit, and verify that I have the thermostat hooked up correctly (I did, they are super simple to install) We did a factory reset and it works again for a week or so. As the Ecobee3 had similar issues, I don't know if it is an issue with Ecobee or perhaps we have a weird HVAC system. It is only 1.5 years old.

Does exactly what I required. I travel a lot and wanted to keep a close check on space temperature during periods of sub freezing weather. First really cold spell, switched from cooling to heating, furnace kicked in based on the setting. Have been monitoring it daily and can even see when there is a bit of heat gain on sunny days. Gives me great comfort that I can control what happens even if I am out of town.

For the longest time I had been considering the nest thermostat, but when this went on sale I figured I’d give it s try. The extra room sensor is a nice feature. It allows temperature only to be sensed in another room. The thermostat works great. It has extra features like being able to control a humidifier as well. The built in Alexa ability wraps the package up nicely. The speaker quality is very good as well.

We have an older house so we didn't have the active power wire required for the easy install. My husband followed the instructions and used the included parts and got it installed without issue. It's so convenient to be able to control our thermostat remotely or via voice. We did disable the motion detection because our dogs were making the heat run throughout the day when we were trying to leave the house cooler to save energy.

Have one in the family room and a couple bedrooms upstairs. Love the way that you can use the bottom floor sensors for the home program and the room sensors for the sleep setting.

Ecobee 4 with Alexa is even more amazing then I thought it could. Have it paired with my Samsung Smartthings and Phillips Hue lights.Love the control and "skills" Alexa can learn.

It is pretty easy to set up. Sensor works great but sometimes hard to understand if it is or nt working. I dont have to set the temperature too high for my other room which pretty cold compare to my livingroom where my thermostat is.

Had a Nest gen 2, but sold it to upgrade to the Ecobee4. It's Extra sensor sold me as my upstairs was way out of sync rest of house. 1 week in and if you program it and tell it to sense when someone goes upstairs, then it works well. UNLike the nest, however, it is not a learning thermostat, so initial programming is required. Alexa feature works from across the room very well as well. And it has a nice display that works with Alexa for certain functions. Overall 4/5 since it cannot learn and setup and UI are not as easy as the nest was.

I have SimpliSafe, Hue, Arlo, Harmony, WeMo, and so many other Home Automation products, and this EcoBee is my favorite by a landslide! Features 5/5: This thing has Alexa, thermostat groups to coordinate multi-zone HVAC, smart home/away, whole house fan to circulate the air and make the most of your heating and cooling cycles, humidity adjustments, energy reports, usage graphs, and so much more! Integration into Logitech Harmony, Alexa, Apple Homekit, and other home automation products. Aesthetics 4/5: Ok, so it doesnt look as sexy as the Nest with it's circular and shiny metallic dial, but the EcoBee still has a sleek look and oozes with style. The main thermostat blends in to any decor, and the sensors are small enough to place in the most obscure of places. Value 4/5: This item is jam packed with features and functionality, but it is an expensive thermostat when you compare to a standard one that comes installed with your HVAC. The cost savings of any smart thermostat will increase with time, and is well worth it in my opinion to save on energy and ultimately cost. EcoBee customer service is friendly and knowledgeable, and they were able to answer all of my questions prior to purchasing, and even post purchase when I began my install. EcoBee doesnt have any smart CO2 or Smoke Detectors in its product mix, which Nest does. So if that's of importance to you, Nest may be the better option. But with all of the integration options, EcoBee met all of my needs and then some!

This thermostat is very easy to use and has decent features for the money. If you want one that doesn't have too many bells and whistles on it but still is smart this is the one! The only thing I've noticed is that once in a while the geofencing will have some trouble. Perhaps from an app update? Just log out of the thermostat app on your phone and back in. It should be just fine afterwards! Doesn't happen that often at all!

This is nice device. It is a little hard to install when you do not have the right cable in the current unit, however is a great product.

Installed myself with some Ecobee support assistance. 2 stage, 3 zone system. Works great.
