Installed this ourselves. Very simple. Turns down automatically when no one walks by (like when we are out of the house) then kicks back to the temperature we’ve set when we return. Very happy with it!

Easy installation if you have an existing thermostat with a C cable. Highly recommend!

I bought a new house. I needed a new smart thermostat. I requested on Facebook a review of this thermostat versus its competition. Everyone who had an Ecobee loved it, everyone who had the competition loved it. But, two people have used both and both of those people chose the Ecobee over the competition. My wife’s favorite feature if she can control it with her iPhone.

It’s a snap to install, it is easy to set up and program and it plays music. I love it.

I have a heat pump system with a gas furnace for auxiliary backup. Many smart thermostats are compatible with heat pumps, but not with auxiliary backups. Google Nest and the Ecobee are two that will work. After trying a Honeywell before I realized it was not compatible, I contacted both Google and Ecobee support. I wanted confirmation of compatibility and direction on precisely where to install each wire. Ecobee's support was immediate and awesome. Google was far less than desirable. If you have questions, I recommend sending Ecobee support a picture of your current wiring and model of your current thermostat with information on your system. They will respond and give you the direction you need. The thermostat itself is also great - looks good and works like a charm. Very easy to program.

Easy set-up and integrates well with my other smart devices. Has Alexa built-in which is somewhat useful, but probably overkill.

I had a Nest before and I like this one better because it has more features

A very good smart thermostat. It works well but try’s to achieve a balanced temp between the remote sensor and sensor on thermostat. So you might have it set for 68 degrees but it might only heat to 67 and turn off because the other sensor is warmer. Four stars for the built in Alexa app since it has had a couple of glitches where a timer would not turn off and I had to switch off the furnace to reset thermostat. Also Alexa sometimes doesn’t work properly. But overall really like it.

Great thermostat and the fact it works as an Alexa hub is a plus. In terms of setup, the installation instructions are very straightforward and includes everything you would need to complete a swap out of an older thermostat. Giving it 4 stars because sometimes the Alexa feature gets buggy.

Ecobee is a great thermostat and I love that I can control it from anywhere

Easy to install, everything can be done by your phone even when I’m away at work. And the fact that i can say “hey Alexa set the temperature to 70 degrees” and not get up to change the temperature is a plus.
