    Get a Nest.

    It’s annoying. It’s turns on when I have it set to off all the time. I understand that my comfort settings are making it do that. But when I turned off the nest, it stayed off. I like the nest better.

    Better to buy when more sensors are available.

    A really nice unit if only the parts you need to have it function efficiently were available. Currently the sensors you need to install in random rooms of the house are out of stock with no available date. So this unit will only work off the temperature in the room it’s installed and with one room in the house if he use the sensor it came with which is a little bit of an inconvenience because until there’s more sensors available to the world, you have to move one sensor it came with around with you to from room to room have the heat adjusted in the room you will be using. (It’s winter now).

    Not Compatible with Our Home Wiring

    Even with the best Buy installer at our home, this device needs a unique wire harness that was not available in our home. And our BB installer was unwilling to use the adapter at the furnace, so we switched to a Nest wich i installed myself.

    I had an installation of a brand new Lennix heat pump system in my home. I selected the ecobee as my smart thermostat. I had the HVAC people install it. We could not get any of the system to work. The service man installed a different thermostat to troubleshoot and to make a long story short it was the Ecobee. I had to return it and apparently it was defective out of the box. I purchased a nest, latest generation and it works perfectly. I gave this two stars simply because this was a defective product apparently, which I hope is not the normal.

    The first one purchased was DOA after my HVAC spent over an hour on the phone with Ecobee support. (No compliants about Ecobee support though). Exchanged it at Best Buy (no hassle) and installed second unit. That worked for exactly one week before failing. Luckily I still had an old thermostat to replace the Ecobee in 20 degree weather. After spending time with Support, returned the 2nd one for full refund (again no hassle from Best Buy). Lastly, their packaging doesn't make sense. They included one smart sensor with the thermostat. After getting the second t'stat running, I determined I needed two smart sensors total. The only way to add smart sensors is a two pack. That kills the value of the thermostat as they aren't cheap and of course not available anywhere.

    Defective remote sensor

    The thermostat was easy to install however the companion sensor was defective. The sensor was showing a 10 degree temperature difference compared to thermostat. Their consumer service support is useless. I spent over a month trying to get a new sensor and I got no where.

    I finally had the electrician install this

    After having the electrician install this product it is DOA. The return date ended on August 7. I am not very happy.

    Had difficulty using a coupon from my utility company for my bestbuy.com purchase of this thermostat. Still haven't been able to resolve the issue after 3 calls and 4 chats with Best Buy customer service. I like Best Buy and I'm rooting for them to do better. Will keep trying, but may have to return this. It's a stark comparison with my experience with other online retailers, so there's work to be done. My in-store experiences with Best Buy are generally quite good.

    I believe this is a good thermostat but it not for me. It only blow out heat no AC. I got the Nest and it working fine

    I honesty prefer the Nest thermostats. I bought this one because it was a little cheaper but now i regret the purchase.

    Really cool, but could not use as our internet will not work with all the smart devices we have. Also you have to buy a hub too.
