Absolutely terrible app makes this unusable

It's got "smart" mapping, and scheduling, but frankly none of it works right because the app is so absolutely terrible. If it gets stuck it freaks out every-time and creates duplicate maps rendering it useless. Simply put, stick with a reliable brand made in the US and save yourself the headache. DO NOT BUY, I would have returned it had I known about how short best buy's return policy is (not 30 days like most other places).

Not great with pets

There are two options when vacuuming. The one that is not meant for when you have dogs works best at picking up everything. The problem is the fur collected on the wheels and jammed the vacuum after a few times of using. So we switched to the other option but it does not pick up the fur. It left it in clumps and did not pick up everything else as well. I will be returning it.

Posted .Hello. Thank you for your feedback. For pet hair, we would recommend using the direct suction port instead of the main brush. After installing that, we would then recommend using the max suction mode in the app which increases the suction power of the robot by up to 2x. Customer service is horrible they have had vacuum for almost a month and still no idea what is going on with it. No updates have been given my request was closed once then reopen its a mess. When it was working i had to redo the virtual boundaries ever other week unit kept deleting them. Do not waste your money.

Would not recommend

Then after waiting two weeks for a replacement under warranty, I received a product that was louder than the original. Then within another month the new one broke. I would not recommend this particular machine to anybody.

1 year stopped working

Won’t charge back up and continues to say, “please power me on to start charging.” Even with the switch “on” and hub connected, it still wants to give errors. Who programmed this crap?

Bad Experience with Ecovacs Robotics

We could never get it to work. We contacted the company multiple times and they did not have good customer service. We never got it to work not even once. I finally had to return it.

It would stop working in the middle of a room. We decided to move it to a smaller space and it didn’t work properly. We stopped trying. It’s bad quality.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DEEBOT Ozmo 930: AI 4 Clean Sweep The Quick Start Guide is a good summary of the Manual’s content; but, it’s wisest to set aside the time to process the instructions: For instance, you are not supposed to put the Deebot in the charger BEFORE turning it on. The main manual also asks that all packing materials be removed because some bits and pieces may lie beneath some people’s awareness. I have an Android phone and easily found then downloaded the FREE Deebot Ozmo 930 App via Google Play. What I did not like is the App’s Agreement. The App want’s access to the consumer’s location and smart phone data and, with all the mishandling lately of consumer data, I don’t like allowing that access. I hope Customer Service registers my concern and/or affords me a work around. A welcome improvement to the App would be the addition of Push Notification; so, if the vacuum encounters a fault, the owner would get an alert without having to open the App. I do like the vacuum’s housing. The unit has a heft and weight that promises durability, especially necessary for a household tool that is likely to encounter some bumps and grinds. I learned that the vacuum can map only one level at a time. So, if you move it to another floor, you must reboot to allow new boundaries to be defined. Even before moving my rugs with fringe, my puddling curtains and my cables to prevent entanglement, I realized that a person without wide open expanses of flooring would be unable to schedule a vacuuming without being present to do the prep required. Moreover, when I tried to use my banking app, I couldn’t. Found the Deebot’s wifi doesn’t allow me to do other work using my wifi. Of course, I can use my smartphone because the default access to my service provider kicks in. Unfortunately, I had to call Customer Service multiple times to let them know that I couldn’t access the app via the Deebot’s Network Set Up process on my phone. The first two times their system dropped my call. On the third call, I got a voice mail. After 3 hours, I am still waiting for a call back or an email. After troubleshooting Login to the App, I should be able to schedule cleanings and make real time adjustments to my vacuum’s status and its map. Nonetheless, even though I couldn’t access the app on my phone to try to map my 1st floor level territory to be vacuumed, I hit Auto and it announced it would start cleaning. Deebot requires help to transit over 1/2" high thresholds dividing the carpet area from the wooden floors and the tiled floors; but, overall, the robot navigates pretty well finding its way around and under my furnishings. It does try to disengage if obstacles block its movement. BTW, Deebot announced when it was low on energy and was heading back to the charging station. It advanced for 3 ft, whirled in different directions then shut down, never making it back to its destination to get charged up. I carried it back. Remember, that due to the size of the dirt bin, a regular dumping must be accomplished. As well, the robot touts that it can vacuum carpet and wash down ceramic, tile and linoleum floors; but, remember, when you use the machine, you must clean the machine: bang out the filter, empty the dust bin and/or empty any remaining liquid. There is a chart that indicates timing for parts replacement; so, you can install calendar alerts in your Outlook, etc You would also want to install an alert for the ONE YEAR WARRANTY end date. Overall, since the 930’s price point has been greatly reduced from over $1000 with its introduction to Canada and the US, it’s a worthwhile investment if you want a more regular clean sweep than you can do yourself in light of a hectic schedule. Bottom-line, wide open spaces that don’t require removal of fringed rugs, electrical cords and coaxial cables would be the best fit unless closer supervision is OK.

The wheel stops working after about 3 months. I’m going back to the iRobot version. I had the first iRobot for over 3 years with no issue. Now I’ve purchased 2 of this version with the same issue.

what a great little vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i really like this vacuum as i have a lot of pets and i regularly vacuum because of it. picks up pet hair quite nicely and moves from my carpet to hardwood to tile floor no problem. only thing i have to say bad is these smarter vacuums still have a problem with some obstacles and a few times getting stuck, but other than that it has been a great little vacuum so far. for the price you get a pretty good vacuum that works on multiple floors and wets floors as well, so over all a handy vacuum

Water doesn't flow

Smart vacuum and mop combo robot

It has navigation system that can be mapped for your home for customized cleaning. You can generate map of your home and then use as a boundary to let the robot know where to clean. You can also set priorities for the area that needs more frequent cleaning. The robot can identify the difference in carpet vs the hardwood floor and automatically change its suction power based on the floor. You can control this robot completely using the app and schedule the times, set modes, etc. It also comes with the mop option, so you can schedule and use both vacuum and mop at the same time. The app setup/connection to the robot did take couple of tries before I could connect and access the robot. The nice feature to set is the continuous cleaning where the robot will recharge if it is low on battery and resume cleaning. Since I live in the apartment, I do not have any problem of different floor levels. I would imagine that might be a issue to carry this one up and down for cleaning. Overall a great robot vacuum and mop combo that gets job done. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to add this as part of their home automation collection.
