This is a fine vacuum. I have a long haired cat and run this automatically a few days a week. I wish the collection bin was bigger or designed differently so clumps of hair would not block a not full collection bin. Love the mopping feature! Have not been able to figure out the mapping and having it only clean one area.

The ways it maps a particular room is amazing. Being able to create additional layers is a bonus.

Love love love this. It cleans our home perfectly and the mop feature does a phenomenal job.

Very poor app. Keeps losing the map. And there are some issues with separating areas within the map for the scheduling. Vacuum is quite good. Doesn’t like carpets (stays off of them), and not very effective at mopping. Fairly quiet.

Our little robot always keeps our house nice and clean! Carpet sensor is amazing and keeps our carpets dry. He does get caught occasionally, but gets right back to it when you pick him up. He is very determined and makes sure your old manual devices stay in the closet! Would recommend!

Love the vacuum its quiet cleans very good. I have all tile floor but some carpets and dogs. so this little machine cleans all my house. long battery. easy to find its charger. love the mapping on my phone so i know where its at. the mopping part is a little iffy but still good machine

This is my first robotic vacuum. I have had great luck with vacuums over the decades lasting a long time. My upright Hoover has been delegated to vacuuming the garage floor and all of the rocks and dirt that are brought inside by the cars. My stick vacuum is going strong. And a vacuum handed down by my parents rolled past 40 years on it’s metal wheels until the cord became frayed and I flew across the room faster than Harry Potter chasing a Quidditch. This vacuum has mostly pictorial directions that definitely need more clarity. I really am very tech savvy but I had trouble with figuring out that the cover opens to reveal the on/off switch. The button on top is not the on/off switch and while the pictures showed another switch it wasn’t easy to locate it. The next hurdle was the app. I installed the app and then you scan the QR Code on top of the vacuum to add the vacuum info. That works great. Then I found out that the vacuum has to connect via 2.4G ONLY. My mesh network has 5G throughout the house and doesn’t have a 2.4G option. So I couldn’t use the app. The explanation on Ecovacs website is shown below. Not impressed as there should be a 5G option with more people on mesh networks. Why doesn’t DEEBOT support a Wi-Fi network running on a 5G frequency band, only 2.4G? At the same distance from the router, a 5G signal is weaker than a 2.4G signal. This is due to the physical properties of electromagnetic waves: the longer the wavelength, the less attenuation, and the easier it is to bypass obstacles and continue traveling. A 5G signal has a high frequency and a short wavelength, whereas a 2.4G signal has a low frequency and a long wavelength, so when a 5G signal passes through an obstacle, it will have greater attenuation and therefore have less of an ability to pass through walls compared to a 2.4G signal. This is the same for all dual-band wireless routers. Currently, there are very few homes with full 5G coverage. DEEBOT needs to be constantly connected to the Internet as it works, otherwise the app will be unable to control it in real time. For these reasons, DEEBOT only supports 2.4G Internet when pairing with a network and during operation. At present there are some routers which have two-in-one 2.4G and 5G SSIDs. Tests at our laboratories showed that it is possible to pair with all of these networks and that robots are able to run as normal. If you find that you are unable to pair with a network, we suggest that you separate the two SSID frequency bands and attempt to pair with a 2.4G network. If you have other problems, please contact Ecovacs Customer Care. You can still use the vacuum without the app but not the same experience. I charged the Deebot overnight to a full charge. Then I decided to test the washing floors feature. Make sure you fill the correct compartment. I decided to use half water and half Bona for my hardwood floors. The vacuum will leak the fluid out if you do not attach the cleaning cloth attachment. First, I moved all of the stools, floor mats and any smaller items on the floor. Then I started the vacuum. Deebot uses a grid pattern and starts mapping your floor. I was worried it might use too much water on the floors but it doesn’t. We do have 2 very large rugs on the hardwood floors. Deebot started cleaning the floors and would hump the edges of the carpets. We don’t have fringe edges but that would have been a problem (maybe even if you folded the fringe underneath). The carpet wasn’t even damp so it did keep the liquid on the floor. It is also easy to see the water level when it is running. My special needs brother leaves drool spots on the floor and Deebot didn’t do so well on those. It cannot scrub so imagine wiping the floor with a damp towel very gently and that is how it cleans. Not bad but I had to manually clean after Deebot was finished. My biggest fear was that Deebot would fall down the stairs. That test was passed with flying colors. Deebot doesn’t run into things and sensed the stairs. I was ready to catch Deebot but no need. Deebot did hang up on a couple of rug corners and was stuck in a corner between the rug and a wall – all times when a nudge freed it. Deebot kept running after it had cleaned the floors once and was on its 3rd hour before I finally held the button for Deebot to return to base. I did refill it once during that time. After charging overnight I wanted to test the vacuum only feature as I wasn’t sure it could handle the rugs. Deebot did fine with the rugs and even managed to vacuum under the table with all of the chairs in place. That took patience and some skill. But Deebot never finished cleaning the whole upstairs as I found the vacuum on a rug with the red-light blinking (low battery). I found that strange as it was only an hour and it ran over 3 hours the day before. Maybe vacuuming the rugs takes more energy and it may have been stuck on that final rug for a while. It did return to base faster on vacuum only but ended up stuck under the table when it tried to take a shortcut. I liked the vacuuming feature as it sucks up a lot and goes under beds for a thorough cleaning. The floor cleaning works decently for lightly soiled floors but you may have to scrub manually for spots. The app was a disappointment since you need 2.4G ONLY. And it takes a long time to clean the floors. You also need to move items for a more effective clean, but you would have had to move them anyway. They do provide a few replacement items in the box and that is nice. I would recommend if you have the money to spend and realize that it cannot do everything. You will still need another vacuum.
