While you have to have one device hardwired into your main modem/router, any extras you add can be placed anywhere and connect to the home base essentially. I used one to connect into the box, and one to hardwire my pc into. Works like a charm, and I haven't had any issues since.

I get very terrible signal in my room and this has helped a lot. I don’t give it the 5 stars because every once in a blue moon the signal doesn’t reach but it’s an easy fix compared to what I had before. It was easy to setup and got it running very quickly. The Netgear wifi range extender and powerline extender are subpar in comparison. The ranger extender is honestly crap and very difficult to setup, I truly don’t recommend it. The powerline was ok but didn’t fix my Internet issues. The only upside is that it was very to use and setup.
