The written instructions were very small, confusing and not very helpful. Somewhere on the Eero site, there are good click-by-click instructions that work and are different from the enclosed, written instructions.

I had to place it 3 ft away from an existing Eero pro 6 node in order to get it to work. Even when it was 3 ft away, as soon as u took 30 steps away, ur internet went down to only 2 bars. With the price of this item, I expected a lot more out of it. I would not recommend this product and ended up returning it within 14 days after talking to eero support 5+ times.

Posted .Hi Nancy. Thank you for your feedback on the eero Outdoor 7. I'm sorry to hear that the range didn't meet your expectations. As with other routers and WiFi devices, placement is key. The optimal installation height for the eero Outdoor 7 is 6-15 feet above the ground. This ensures proper clearance for the WiFi signal to reach the furthest range. Avoid obstructions, such as large trees, grills, satellite dishes, etc. If your eero is placed high and away from obstructions, but still isn’t sending enough signal to your property, call eero customer service at (877) 659-2347 so they can troubleshoot further. They’re available Monday-Sunday 6am-8pm PT. I hope this helps. Have a great day!
