Easy setup, attractive design, slow wifi

I was impressed with eero’s packaging and the look and feel of the hardware, but network performance was significantly worse than expected. As much as I wanted to be blown away, wifi speeds were 40% to 50% slower than the Orbi system. Amazon connectivity and the built-in Zigbee hub weren’t enough to overcome the lack of speed. Sadly, the eero Pro 6 setup is going back.

Upgraded from eero Pro + 2 Beacons. Impressed.

Upgraded from the eero Pro + 2 Beacons. I pay for 600Mbps and actually receiving close to those speeds wirelessly. Having the back haul channel makes a huge difference. Also, the new devices are backwards compatible with the “old” devices so it doesn’t make them completely obsolete. It’s not cheap, but for me, it’s worth it.

Connection quality has been great and stable for a few months now. Setup was fairly easy with a the help of the app and I had it up in running in 15 minutes or less.
