Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Pro 6 AX4200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router's ease of use, impressive Wi-Fi coverage, and strong performance. Many appreciate the straightforward setup and extended range, resulting in a significantly improved home Wi-Fi experience. However, some users find the price to be high and note that the device can get warm during operation. A few also mention a limited number of Ethernet ports as a drawback.

Very good performance. Needing their app not ideal

Overall set up was very easy, but one hitch is that you need to use their app. A web browser based configuration interface is not an option. When I was configuring the Eero router, I only had the Spectrum modem with no WiFi (since I was counting on the Eero for WiFi). With no WiFi, the app depends on your phone's cellar data connection to complete the configuration, which in my case was very spotty. I had to move around to get a decent cell signal long enough to get the configuration to work. Finally got it, but it would have been way easier if I could have plugged my laptop into the modem (which has a couple of network ports), and configured from there, using a browser. If Eero had an app for Windows and Mac, that would've been OK too. But no... Anyway, once the configuration was successful, I found the performance and coverage throughout the 1,500 sq. ft. apartment to be very good. The reason I got a mesh router was because there are a lot of walls breaking up the space, and I wanted to make sure an outdoor patio could be covered. I also wanted to be able to add a node if necessary for better coverage. Well, no real need to add a node now (but I may need to in the future if I want some physical network ports in another room, so good to have this option).

I recently upgraded my home to ATT fiber 1GB service. I had read good things about the eero system and decided to upgrade from my old Orbi wifi5 system. The eero does have some things going for it. Namely the simple setup, price, and amazing app. Very user-friendly. Things most competition cannot match. That’s about where the good things end… These things are under-powered, have poor range, don’t switch devices well, and they get quite warm. After two weeks of dealing with nightly drops of speeds and connections I gave up and went back to the Orbi RBK853 (ax6000). Even after two separate 1-hour troubleshooting sessions with eero support. I troubleshooted this setup to death! I desperately wanted this to work for its simplicity, but I just cannot recommend this to anyone wanting great range, max speeds, and have a large (wireless) home. Spend the extra money and go with the Orbi ax6000 unit. It’s not as user-friendly but you get what you pay for performance-wise.
