I had higher expectations….
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Need to reset almost daily. Hoping for a little better quality with the higher price tag. Started out good but after a few weeks, I started to see this problem regularly. Reset only helps for a day or 2.

Posted .Thank you for the feedback on the eero Pro 6E. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. This should definitely not be happening so here are a few steps to help troubleshoot. To reboot your eero, open the Home tab and tap on the Online status button in the top center of the screen. Tap on the eero you’d like to reboot to open its options menu, then scroll down to “Reset.” Tap on the Reset button and then select “Restart eero” from the list of sub-options available. If that doesn't work, reboot your eero network. Here are the following steps: 1. Open the eero app and tap on the Settings tab. 2. Scroll down, find and select the “Advanced” option. 3. Scroll down to “Reset” at the bottom of the Advanced menu. 4. In the Reset menu, tap “Restart Network,” then tap “Restart Network” again to confirm. Doesn't have the coverage!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn't even cover 2800 sq ft with walls. I bought it and couldn't get the described sq footage. Maybe if it was just 1 or 2 rooms, but doesn't go through walls very well.

Posted .Hello BrettM! I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your eero Pro 6E 2-pack system. Here are some tips on placement that will help the coverage issues you are facing. DO’s: As you’re experimenting with placement, here are some tips to follow: Place eeros where they can talk to each other. While it might be tempting to place your eero in an existing dead zone or area with poor WiFi connectivity, it’s much more effective to place eeros halfway between your gateway eero and your existing dead zones. You can think of placing them like a WiFi relay – each eero is a link in the chain bringing WiFi to your dead spot. Place eeros on a hard, flat surface. Your eeros should be placed on a surface that is both stable and flat, such as tables, countertops, and nightstands. Aim high. eeros radiate their signal more upwards than downwards, but mostly along the plane they’re placed on. It’s best to place your eeros at a height halfway between the floor and the ceiling, not on the ground. Keep your space open. eeros communicate best when they’re not closed in. Keep them out in the open – try not to place your eero(s) inside a media console or cabinet. The thinner the barrier, the better. The fewer the walls (and the less substantial their inner material) between your eeros, the better your performance will be. Older houses with dense materials like plaster, lath, or chicken wire in the walls are particularly hard for WiFi waves. Placing your eeros near doors may help since wood is less dense and easier for WiFi waves to penetrate. Whenever possible, aim for direct line of sight between eeros. DON’Ts: Here are some things to avoid: Heavy metal. Stream as much Motörhead as you can stand, as long as you don’t put your eero(s) near your refrigerator or other heavy metal objects. These objects can interfere with wireless radios. If you’re placing an eero in the kitchen, we suggest placing it on a counter or shelf that’s as far from your major appliances as possible. Interference. eeros work best when they’re 20-30 feet away from objects that cause interference. Avoid placing your eero on top of, or near, these objects: Microwave oven, cordless phones (for your landline, not your cell phone) that use the 2.4GHz or 5GHz range, WiMAX, other 802.11 networks, power lines, power stations, or railroad tracks, radio leakage from Direct Satellite Service (DSS), older coaxial cable from certain types of satellite dishes. If you have an older satellite dish, contact the device manufacturer to get newer cables, fluorescent lights, bad electrical connections, radar, smothering your eeros. Keep your eeros out in the open and never put anything on top of them. When possible, also avoid having your eeros enclosed in a small space. Soft surfaces. Your eeros work best on a stable surface, so avoid putting them on chairs, cushions, and any other surface that doesn't allow for space beneath them to breathe. I surely hope this helps with your setup but if it doesn't, please reach out to eero customer support. They are available Monday–Sunday 6:00 am – 8:00 pm PT. You can reach them at 877-659-2347. Hope this helps and have a great day!

Fast and Easy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.eero (not a typo, the first letter in the name is lowercase) was one of the first consumer mesh systems, with a promise of being easy to use and mostly hands off. With so much of a household running on wireless these days, having a system that just works and doesn’t require continual tinkering is more important than ever. With many players in the market, eero, an Amazon company, has updated their lineup with the latest Wifi standard, 6E, in the new eero Pro 6E system. Mesh systems allow for multiple wireless nodes to work seamlessly with your devices, effectively extending wireless coverage throughout your space and balancing how many of your devices are connected to a single node. They automatically adjust things like radio frequency to avoid interference and try to keep everything running smoothly. Most systems allow for either a wired connection between the nodes or for the nodes to connect wirelessly. When using wireless connections for the mesh nodes, the nodes will use the same radio frequencies as your devices, so a system with 3 or even 4 radios (bands) is preferred if you have a busy network with a lot of devices that need a bunch of bandwidth. The new eero Pro 6E has 3 radios across 3 bands – the classic (and crowded) 2.4ghz, 5ghz, and the newly unlocked 6ghz range (Wifi 6E). This allows the system to balance your devices across these bands and find enough “clean air” for the mesh system operate without dragging down your network performance. The 6ghz band is new and not many wireless systems use it yet, so the mesh can use this space for the backhaul connection, or it can be used with the few 6E devices on the market. In the box is a simple set of instructions, the 3 eero nodes, power supplies, and a single ethernet cable. The nodes are slightly larger and taller than the previous wifi 5 pro nodes and are heavier, likely the shell is hiding larger antennas in a more optimal coverage configuration then the previous system. Each node has 2 ethernet ports, one of which is a 2.5gbps port, and the other is limited to 1gbps. This is something of a curious configuration – on the “gateway” node, the 2.5gbps port is likely to be used to connect to your internet provider’s equipment, especially if you have multi-gigabit service, leaving the 1gbps connection for connecting the mesh together if you are using a wired backhaul. This means all of the nodes connected to any other eero mesh nodes wirelessly or wired and all wired clients are limited to a maximum of 1gpbs internet, which considering the wireless speeds this system can create, is an odd limitation. It also means that in order to connect multiple nodes together with a wire, you would need a switch or to “daisy chain” the nodes, which is not how homes are typically wired. It’s pretty clear to me that the ethernet ports are to be used for a switch to connect your wired devices to or to connect wired devices on the nodes (which is a handy feature, the ports can be used on the nodes by any ethernet device, which is useful for those things that don’t have wireless or have trouble with it), while leaving the mesh nodes to connect to each other wirelessly. As an existing eero user, setup was pretty straightforward. Just open the app, click the + button, go to replace an existing eero device, and follow the two prompts to swap out a node with another node. The most tricky node was the gateway node connected to my cable modem – I did have to reboot the cable modem to get the new eero to connect to the internet and go. For new users, set up is also simple – just download the app, create an account, and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new network. One quirk with eero is that the setup and configuration is entirely done through the app, so you must have an internet connection and a smartphone in order to create and connect your network. There is no browser-based setup that can be reached from a laptop or mobile device. You can plug in the eero to an existing router and keep your phone on your older wireless network during setup, and then swap out the older device if you have no cell coverage at all, but in the event something goes wrong with the eero network you would have no way to diagnose or troubleshoot it. My previous eero system was the Pro model based on wifi 5. It was solid, but not fast, especially at any distance from the nodes. Speeds of 200 or so mbps would be typical, and frequently even lower. This new system screams in comparison, with a Wifi 6 Surface Pro getting receive speeds of over 2gbps (2000mbps), and transmit in the 1.4gbps ranges in adjacent rooms. I was pulling down a game download at the full speed of my internet connection, at a little bit over 800mbps (a blazing 100 megabytes per second). An 8GB game download took under 2 minutes. By using 160mhz wide bands and Wifi 6, speeds are much higher than the previous systems and it can support a huge number of devices. I have a very busy network, with multiple smart home devices, gaming consoles, work and personal computers, etc. and it handles all of the needs of the home with ease. The interface itself is fairly easy to use, with devices grouped by type. Additionally, you can group devices into profiles and assign things like parental controls to the kids’ devices etc. You can also see utilization and activity on your network, which is helpful if you have a metered connection or just want to see what activity is going on. Devices can be “paused”, preventing them from going through the gateway to the Internet, which can be handy if it’s time for the kids to stop using a device or if something is acting fishy on your network. You can create custom names for things, as sometimes devices appear with strange names and you want to give them a more friendly one. These names are cosmetic only, and not an actual DNS entry, and there are no features like VPN, dynamic DNS, etc. It is very much a consumer-oriented system with only a few extra features like port forwarding included. One nice feature is the ability to have multiple admins on a network. This allows control and troubleshooting to be shared with someone else, which is great for families where the system may be installed in a home with less technical people who may need help from time to time, or if it is installed in a shared living space. eero has a premium subscription service to add additional features such as content filtering (parental controls), ad blocking, and threat prevention. It works fairly well, but doesn’t tell you exactly what it is blocking, so it is hard to tell what value you are getting out of it. The ad blocker can also lead to massive frustration, as it has a tendency to block the sponsored links in search engines, which are often what you are looking for and the first link that comes up. It also never blocks Amazon ads, which while not surprising, is a smack in the face for a service you pay extra for. Since this is an Amazon device, it is important to pay attention to “new features” that Amazon keeps wrapping into their product ecosystem. One of the latest is the ability for the newest Echo devices to be eero extenders. I would not recommend this for eero Pro users, as the radios in the Echo are not going to be as capable as the Pro series, unless you really had a coverage gap at a corner of a home or outside and only the Echo could cover it. Overall, the eero pro 6E delivers on its promise of a set it and forget it wireless mesh system with much improved performance than the wifi 5 based eero systems and should meet the needs of just about any household. While it may not have all of the power user knobs to turn like some systems, it’s good performance and rock solid connections make it the perfect solution for home settings.

Poor Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money I spent on this router, it does not measure up to the performance expectation. I only have 1800 sq ft house and the internet does not reach every corner. The eero routers are poorly designed and aren’t tall enough to provide adequate horizontal coverage. I have three of these in my small house and there are still areas of rooms that don’t get coverage. I got better coverage with my previous net gear single router that was half the cost. Very unhappy with the turnout of these eero mesh routers.

Works great when it works... then nodes die...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system works great most of the time, however at least a couple of times a week the whole network seems to slow down to a crawl for no reason. In addition, currently using the 3rd of 3 devices as the primary "router", because the first 2 worked for a while and then seem to have lost the ability to work as the primary node (the ethernet connection to the modem stops working). When this happens the node is noticeably hot, and the only way to restore the overall network is to move one of the other nodes to the "primary" position (connected to the modem)

Stick With the Previous Version
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these as I love the 6's and was eager to take advantage of 6E. When I saw the current sale price was cheaper than the previous version I was apprehensive, but I pulled the trigger. The ease of setup that's so wonderful about the 6's is lost here. When I tried to replace my base unit with a new 6E version it broke the system and none of the older satellites were found. Adding them into an existing system as new devices was also a giant pain. They may be ok if you start a new system with them and don't mix them with the 6's, but I would do yourself a favor and stick with the previous version that still works great. I ended up returning these

Not worth your money or time
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can barely begin to describe how disappointing my experience with Eero has been. I went from a Orbi system that was older technologically, but was somehow still smarter and faster than this router and the 6+. The worst part is Eero customer service. My first 6E Pro went bad and stopped accepting connections. It took a full months before Eero would replace it. The process was “try this and wait 24-48 hours.” I’d do that and then be passed off to a different customer service person because the ticket automatically closed, and the process would start again. Really terrible hardware. Do not waste your time.

Worse than my Orbi
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may work for most people, but it didn’t work for me. Actually it was a real disaster. I had a fairly new Orbi router before this but I was getting strange errors with my Apple HomeKit set up. So I tried to start from scratch and delete my Apple home, and change the router altogether so I bought this one. Immediately after installing the eeros , we noticed a major decrease in how far the Internet reached in our house. Things that used to be connected would not connect anymore. I move the routers around and try different things but all I ended up with was an upset wife that was angry that instead of me upgrading the Internet it was actually a downgrade and I wasted a lot of time doing it. Super disappointing. I dealt with this for about two weeks and could not make it any better. So I just today installed the new Linksys 6e Atlas router.

Hard requirement of internet for internal network
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Requires internet to even set up (and based on reading to boot up even after setup). Yeah, I don't need my internal network requiring internet, not to mention who knows what this thing is reporting back if it's making this a requirement. Didn't get to test the router any further because I didn't proceed any further. Not going to have my internal network reliant on the internet at boot up. If my internet goes out I want to be able to still connect to devices on my internal network.

Very Fast Wide Coverage WiFi 6e
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This triband Wireless 6e router uses the latest in wireless technology to provide a low congestion 6ghz band signal to allow for faster and cleaner connections to your router to assist in offering the fastest speeds on your local network. Eero makes it so that anyone, no matter the tech level, can purchase and connect this mesh system, as long as they can download an app and follow directions. I loved the unboxing experience of this router. With 3 units, everything is packaged very neatly inside the box so you can grab one at a time and go through the setup process with each. The first step is getting the app and setting up an Eero account. Then follow directions for adding a router to your home network. It’ll guide you through the steps of disconnecting your old router and connecting your new one to your modem. Once complete, you can then use the app to set up additional units providing a wide range of wifi coverage across your home or property. My modem fairly centered to the living room but I wanted to expand wifi out to my front yard and garage. When adding the additional access points, I didn’t have any connection problems and was able to get good signal putting one in my bedroom (using only wireless internet connections and a power cable) and another in my garage. I didn’t want to fall back on my wireless connection while looking up how-to videos in my garage, so this was ideal. This is what I call an “app managed” router. This seems to be a more popular approach, but it simplifies the setup and management process for those who are not quite as savvy with adjusting technical settings of their home network. This is a plus and a minus in my book. On one hand, it makes things much easier for the majority of people, on the other hand, it also restricts you from fine tuning your network to your liking or wireless environment. With that being said, it’s very easy to see what is connected to your router as well as the ability to group different items to make parental controls and monitoring a walk in the park. I made a completely new network with the setup of this router so I could add each item one by one and group them based on function or type. For example, smart home devices, PCs, and personal devices (phones, tablets, watches) all got grouped in their respective categories. Although I do not have kids, I could see where this would be useful if you wanted to create groups for individual children for game consoles or phones to limit screen time. As for customization, it doesn’t leave you completely in the dark. You can still do, what I now consider a standard features, port forwarding and DHCP reservations. You can also adjust your DNS server, turn on or off your UPnP, as well as a feature called client steering which makes sure you’re on the router with the strongest signal and therefore likely the fastest connection. There’s also “Thread”, which is a low power wireless standard that devices can connect to. The device also has Zigbee built in so if you’re Smart home is built on this standard, you can use the eero as a hub. Performance seems right in line with what I expect with a clean 6ghz wireless signal. My PC which is one of my few 6e devices, negotiates at 2.1 gbps at the highest, but averages around 1.2 to 1.4 gbps. This is, on paper, FASTER than a wired connection. The reality is, depending on if your device is WiFi 6e capable and distance to your router, you may or may not see those speeds. BUT I will say, using fast.com to test my speeds, under the best conditions, I was hitting my advertised speeds (1 Gig Fiber) from my ISP which is very impressive considering I’ve only seen these speeds under wired connection (940 download and 800 upload on Eero wireless router). As for local network file transfers, well I have a windows PC as a server, and lets say SMB isn’t the fastest file transfer protocol, but I transferred a file across the network at 74 MB/s average. This was from a NVMe drive to a HDD, which is a common setup for network file backup. Another added bonus is if you want to wire your devices to the access points, each one comes with 2 ethernet ports. If you have a device that’s ethernet only or want to spread out wired devices so it doesn’t crowd the desk, this makes that convenient. The biggest downfall of this router is the subscription based parental controls and monitoring. Instead of building these into the product like other routers, eero has opted to get a few more bucks out of you by charging $99.99/year for these features. You don’t have to make the purchase, and the router works fine without them, but there are routers available that include this in their purchase price without a subscription. Another thing I would have liked to have seen would have been a QoS feature where I can prioritize traffic on the network by device. This is great for streaming or gaming devices where it’s network traffic is important to be prioritized to sustain the quality of picture and latency. It’s hard to see this labeled as “Pro” and not have some of these features. Hopefully this can be added in the future with a firmware update. All things said, I’m happy with this product, but there’s room for improvement. I have no complaints about the setup process, performance, or coverage. If you don’t have a technical savvy person in your home but need the coverage, you’ll find this is easy to setup, deploy and enjoy.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have a 4 unit mesh system. Worked great for 6 months. Unit stopped putting out a WiFi signal that was the correct speed. The hard woired speeds were too slow to run YouTube. I have called Eero support 5 times now and they refuse to switch out the units. We reset a bunch of stuff and it runs fine for about 2-4 hours. Then nothing works properly. They can access your network without any verification code. As Ana Amazon company it worries me about my privacy. Trash routers. Worse service. Stay away!

Guest user only router!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this 4 days ago and immediately there was a huge issue and it was insanely frustrating. Not what I paid for! The main network says password is incorrect and it is correct because I copied it from the app! So, I had to set up everyone in the house on the guest access to use this router. Really? $700.00! Not cool. It simply will not let me sign into the main network and there is no fix in sight, on the app. These companies telling everyone to use the app for everything need to re-think that approach. What happens if the app doesn't fix the issue? I know what happens, nothing. So I am going to return it and get a Netgear. At least I know their equipment works.
