I had been using my Internet Provider’s free wifi for the last six years, wifi 6. Wired speeds were 500 Mbps but wifi speeds wer 50-100 Mbps. I’d had enough of slow speeds and frequent drops and decided to try the Eero again, the last Eero I owned was the Eero Pro. These do not dissapoint. Speed is now consistently 400-500 Mbps, no more dropped connections. The only thing I don’t like is the parental controls stuck behind a paywall. All the other features of Eero plus I can do without but the parental controls should absolutely be a part of the basic package. Subscription Paywalling parental controls is corporate greed at it’s worst.

Hi Ironmade! Thank you for reaching out about your experience with the eero Pro 7 (3-pack). I’m delighted to hear about the significant improvement in your wifi performance! The jump from 50-100 Mbps to consistently achieving 400-500 Mbps with eliminated connection drops represents exactly the kind of reliable, high-speed connectivity the eero Pro 7 mesh system is designed to deliver.
I appreciate you sharing your concerns about the parental controls being part of the eero Plus subscription. Your feedback regarding feature accessibility is valuable and helps inform product development decisions. While the eero Plus subscription includes advanced parental controls along with additional security features, ad blocking, and premium support, I understand your perspective that basic parental controls would be a welcome addition to the standard feature set. For families seeking network management options with the current system, the basic eero app does offer some foundational controls including the ability to pause internet access to specific profiles or devices, which can provide a degree of oversight without the subscription. Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience. Have a great day!

First I want to seperate the product from the seller. This was a 3rd party seller and it did not appear new. However, the Eero routers are among the most reliable mesh routers out there. Unlike that other big Chinese brand, which seemed to restart twice a day, the Eero is rock solid. No down time and incredible speed. The interface is easy to use but frankly just too many features, like auto connecting to Amazon Echo's and using them as a node. IMHO, they just slow your network down. Be sure to turn ON MLO and Client Steering which aren't on by default but should be. You can also configure security by each of the 3 bands (except 6 Mhz which requires WPA3). One weird thing I found and why I returned it, is the nodes start slowing each other down if they aren't about 50 ft apart. I have a small place so one node was faster than 3 which is weird. One will easily cover 1500 sq ft.

Great product, does what I need. Wish it had more security features, but as far as coverage, I have no dead spots in and around my home.

This actual mesh router device is my actual gateway for all other eero extensions. It works, but the estimation for how much this mesh system covers by square footage is highly off. I get that there are walls and depending on how thick they are will determine the strength of connectivity. This being said, you may need to provide more extensions to the device and highly suggest getting 3 satellites to the minimum. My review for 3 stars is fair since it works, but to have ran a netgear mesh system prior to transitioning to eero made me realize how incompetent eero actually is. My old netgear orbi mesh system only had two satellites and penetrated between walls. Another thing to mention is there are only two ethernet ports while other brands have 4 ports. This becomes a problem because nothing can beat a hard wired system. Now days, TVs are able to stream so thats one port, another port is for your modem, and whether you are a gamer, that is another port for that as well.

Hello Christian! Thank you for your detailed feedback on the eero Pro 7 router. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and I'm sorry to hear that the system hasn't met your expectations, particularly coming from a Netgear Orbi setup that served you well.
You raise several valid points about coverage estimation and connectivity. Wi-Fi coverage can indeed vary significantly based on home construction, wall materials, and layout. While manufacturer estimates provide general guidance, real-world performance often requires additional units for optimal coverage, and your recommendation of starting with a 3-Pack is practical advice for others considering the system.
Regarding the Ethernet port limitation, I understand your frustration. The eero Pro 7 includes two Ethernet ports per unit, which can be limiting for users with multiple wired devices like gaming consoles, streaming devices, and other equipment that benefit from hardwired connections. For users needing additional wired connections, an Ethernet switch can be used.
Your comparison to the Netgear Orbi's wall penetration performance is valuable feedback. Different mesh systems use varying approaches to radio configuration and signal strength, and it sounds like the Orbi's implementation worked better for your specific environment and needs. I'm glad the system is functional for you, even if it requires more units than anticipated. If you continue to experience coverage challenges in specific areas, eero's support team can provide placement recommendations and network optimization guidance. They're available Monday-Sunday 6am-8pm PT at (877) 659-2347. Thank you again for sharing this honest assessment. Have a great day!

Our son was not able to access our WiFi upstairs in his room. These fixed all of our problems. We also immediately noticed faster internet. Extremely easy to set up.

Used 6 of these to set up a large mesh network and give 1000Mbps download/upload across my whole office. Very easy to set up and easy to pair them together. No need to do expesnive wiring with these

So much faster Han my Orbi, able to connect to all my devices with ease and no issues or slowing down with over 50 devices. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Just buy it if you are thinking about upgrading. You will not be disappointed.

Upgraded from Nest Wifi and the coverage is better. Nest Wifi nodes went offline frequently and I haven't experienced anything like that with eero. Speed seems to be about the same, though. It's a good speed for my 1gb fiber. Happy with the upgrade.

These have performed far better than my previous mesh network. The mbps is much higher than my previous system. The overall range is far greater as well. The app is solid and setup is a breeze! Highly recommend!

My speeds went way up when I upgraded from EERO WiFi 6. Need newer phones and computers to take advantage but with 1GB connection I am getting speeds both upload and download that are slightly faster, at 15' from the device.

I got this to replace my eero pro 6. I tried the Eero pro max and returned it. Had nothing but issues with the max and I felt it was over price. This new pro 7 is cheaper then the max and better from my testing. Get this over the Max I had issues streaming with my steam deck using remote play and this for sure improved my speeds and connectivity.

I've purchased every generation of this product. I find the size of this is not ideal compared to the six and the five. However, the speed and set up keeps improving. Also to develop the mesh, gives you a lot more flexibility than it has in the past. In the future, for residential use, I would love to see this product reduced in size.

I struggled with 3 Deco BE16000s for months before throwing in the towel and trying to Eero. Decos were always disconnecting even though the wifi signal was at 3 bars. Moved to the Eeros and will not look bakc. Setup was a breeze and I added on one outside wifi 7 Eero to complete everything. These cover the front of my house for a Tesla and then inside, the three pack fully cover my 3900 sqft, two story house. I have these eero pros all hard wired and the outdoor eero is linked via wifi. Have not had issues with wifi for the past week I have been using them where the decos would have issues every single day. Speeds are not quite as fast as the Deco BE16000, but I think I am going to add one Eero max for the primary unit to boost speeds where we use wifi the most. Reliability on the Eeros is a night and day difference over the Decos.

I switched from a legacy Google system to these and it was an instant improvement. I use one as a router and I have 5 nodes and all have maximum connectivity. It was an immediate improvement in signal strength and reliability.

I needed to upgrade my home wifi. This was great. Very fast and easy to set up. The only drawback was that I needed 3 of these devices to cover my house. Each router says it's rated to support over 20 devices, but I found having only 2 devices there was a lot of drops and it ran slow adding the third router fixed the issue.
