    The elgato is easy to setup just plug in the hdmi cords, but the footage won't pop up on you computer without the thing plugged in the computer.

    This product is plug and play and you do not need any of the manufacturers programs. I use this product with OBS and it did require some moderately in depth setting adjustments to get the audio and video to display properly in my streaming program. Overall it is a great product that takes up very little space and if you have the patience and know how to change device setting on a computer you should have no problem getting the Elgato to work!
