Made my stream professional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Depending on the power of your computer will determine how good the captured footage is so if you have low voltage directed toward your cpu and graphics card your upstream will be choppy and have low frames on the stream. Also the installation was super easy on the hardware side... depending on what software you use will determine if setting up the capture card takes 5 minutes or an hour... I prefer obs. Out side of that I think this product is really good for the price it’s sold at

Beware Mac users, this requires an NVIDIA GPU!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very disappointed with the performance of the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+. It is literally sitting unused on my desk because I cannot use it live because it causes the fans on my 2018 MacBook Pro, i7 6-core 32GB memory, to spin so loud that you can hardly hear my audio with using it. Elgato developers are clearly clueless about Macs. In their specs they list that an NVIDIA GPU is required but Apple hasn't made Macs with NVIDIA GPUs for quite a long time; they all have AMD GPUs. I was told it would work anyway (and it does) but it uses my CPU to encode the video which causes my fans to spin up so loud that it drowns out my voice making the device useless for live production (which is what I purchase it for). I eventually purchased an AVerMedia Live Gamer MINI which is half the price and includes an on-board video encoder so all of the video is processed by the Live Gamer MINI and not my CPU which keeps my fans nice and quiet. I regret speeding so much money on the Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+ but by the time I realized this fan issue the time to return it had pasted, otherwise I would have returned it to BestBuy. I may sell it eBay because it is useless to me. The other thing I didn't like is that is has a USB-C port, but only comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable. What was Elgato thinking? This its completely useless for Mac users since most modern Macs only have USB-C ports. I tried using a USB-A to USB-C adapter but it didn't work. The video was all green and distorted. I had to purchase a separate USB-C to USB-C cable. For the price of this device, you would think Elgato would include the proper cables, after all it is a USB-C device! I still gave it three stars because it does work as expected and if you have a PC with an NVIDIA card and USB-A port it's probably fine, but for Mac users it is a poor value when you consider what you're spending and you have buy extra cables, and it can't even encode video itself while devices 1/2 the price do. I don't use 4K so maybe it's not fair to compare it with the Live Gamer MINI which is only HD but for me, it was a purchase that I regret making.

Posted .Hi John,
And sorry to hear your system wasn't the best for the product to shine. Please keep in mind included cables account for most of the market, and not just one-case use, thus the C to A cable.
If you have anything we can clarify for you, please reach out directly under the Support link on the elgato site.

Great for Last Gen Console Streaming, but...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Primarily purchased this as a means to display better stream quality and to capture Game Chat on my PS5. Does as intended, but because the passthrough does not support HDMI 2.1, I'm experiencing input lag on my LG OLED CX television. Product advertises "no latency" with passthrough, but that is not the case in my situation. My PC also has an issue recognizing the device as a Video Capture Card via OBS Studios and StreamElements. It forces me to use Window Capture instead, which slightly effects my stream framerate.
