I saw this mug and spent most of a year debating getting one (price is outrageous). I nurture my drinks for hours and every time it got cold i thought "wish this were still warm". Finally bought the cup and am extremely happy. Hot drinks for hours.

Great gift for the parents. Might slowly make a collection for them. I have to say, get it on sale. It's pretty pricey for the size of the mug, but if you won't finish your drinks because they get cold... It could be the investment you need to fix that.

I love this cup and warmer. My coffee stays a perfect temperature. Please note the size of the cup, as it is smaller than your typical coffee mug.

We love our Ember mugs. We now have 3 larger mugs, this 6 oz mug, and a travel mug. Our son loves his travel mug. He is a college student and he really likes his travel mug. He is also a coffee fanatic. This smaller mug keep his espresso at a nice constant hot temperature.

I like it. Temperature maxes out at 145F which pretty good. I think I’m going to exchange for the bigger cup. You should get the bigger cup.

Overall a pretty good product however is was much smaller than it initially looked like

I have the the ember mug and travel mug and those are awesome. I wanted to like the cup but it was okay doing latte art and the amount of liquid I usually drink is not enough. Still a great cup but this should be more like 70-80 and not 100. Just the value is not there compared to the others.

This saves me from having to reheat my espresso when I’m home.

Admittedly, I love both coffee and tea, and probably have a borderline caffeine…problem, as a result. Putting that aside, this cup does exactly what it says it will. It does it well. Either to my betterment or my detriment LOL. The cup itself looks great. Plain. Matte Black. Simple. Clean. More or less perfect for me (the charging coaster looks the same). They do also offer a Copper version, which while not my thing, does look very nice (although it is more expensive). There are no handles, but it is comfortable to hold for me and I’ve found it doesn’t get hot on the outside. Beyond that, it just “feels good in the hand.” It is on the “smaller” size, given the 6oz, so just something to keep in mind for your own use case (more on that later). Setup is very easy. More or less plug the cable to charger and then into the AC wall outlet. The power button is on the bottom of the cup. That’s it for the hardware. As with most devices, you should fully charge before the first use. Perhaps there are power requirements, and/or they want to prevent people from charging from questionable USB sources, but a USB option would have been nice to see. Many people, myself included, have outlets with added USB ports these days. My kitchen counters are space challenged but there is no shortage of things that need plugged in. A little versatility would have been nice to see. You can choose to use the cup as is (stays at a constant 135F), but you lose functionality without the downloadable App. Pairing was painless for me and the App is simple, intuitive, clean, and rather nice looking. Here you can update firmware, adjust the customizable LED, see battery levels, set favorites, and, most importantly, set your desired temperature. For me, simple, and zero issues. That said, I am primarily an Android user, and the App is riddled with poor reviews and reported issues. As someone who also uses iPhone, it was no different with the iOS store. I can’t say exactly what the story is, but that was not my experience. Just something to note. As for actually using the cup in the day to day? I love it. It is a simple idea/concept, and they nail it. You put your beverage of choice in, and the cup keeps it at a temperature for up to 1.5 hours. I typically drink a mix of coffee, cappuccinos, and a variety of teas. For me, what I drink, where I drink it, and how I drink it, simply, it just works. Frankly, I think the whole experience is better. Tea making is fantastic given the temperature control. My only concern is some people may not like the 6oz size. It seems designed more for cappuccinos and similar drinks, and It works for me, but some people may want to look at Ember’s other offerings. I would say most would probably be ok, as you can just refill the cup, but if you are downing giant coffees maybe check your caffeine habits before picking this model. Cleanup is cleanup. Hand washing is required, but no handle and the smaller size make it quite easy. You will need to make sure the bottom where the charging pins are located is dry before placing it back on the charger (and the charger itself I imagine). Lastly, it should go without saying, but this is not microwave safe. Given this product, you shouldn’t need to, but just make sure not to. Ultimately, I really like this cup. It does exactly what it promises to do, and it does it well. It looks great and it is simple to use. For someone who uses it daily, the value is there.

This is a great piece of barware for any serious coffee drinker; or parent. I’d always been fascinated with the Ember mugs. The 6oz is a perfect size for me, so was happy to get the chance to try it out. Unboxing the mug felt like an Apple product: not a lot of fluff included, just the cup, charging base, and cord included. Setup was also easy: just plug in the cord, plug into the charging base, and place the cup on said base. You download the app which provides you with data on your cup. You can also change the cup's LED light color, and have it send you notifications once your cup needs charged so you don't forget. You’re supposed to fully charge the cup prior to the first use, which I did. After it was charged, I decided to stress test it three times. One with normal drip coffee at the hottest temp, one with drip coffee at the lowest temp, and one with a latte-style drink at a neutral temperature. Overall, I was happy with the results. Under normal circumstances (think 130-135 degrees Fahrenheit), the Ember will keep your coffee warm for about 1:15. But the difference isn’t just keeping it warm and then drinking it once cooled; it’s the constant temperature aspect that is the selling point, which it delivers on. At the lowest temperature, you can stretch the battery life to 2 hours. On top of that, you can charge your mug with coffee in it to keep your beverage warm longer. The only con I can think of is having to handwash the cup after each use. Of course, that’s really not that big of a deal-breaker. Plus, when using a milk-based beverage in the Ember, you’ll find the foam dissipates after 20ish minutes of sitting in a warm cup. This happens during normal circumstances at a coffee shop, so I wasn’t surprised, but it is something to note. Overall, there’s nothing much to fault here. Solid construction, easy to use app, dependable performance, and above all else keeps coffee warm. What else could you ask for?
