Be Cautious - Charging base has high failure rate

Posted .Hi there thank you for your review and we do appreciate the feedback! We do want to note that the charging coaster can also be used to extened the battery life of your ,ug. If you place the mug on the coaster while it is heating, the battery level will pause. Which can give you hours of battery life!

I set mine at 145 (max) and that killed the battery life. I got maybe 30 minutes off the base. That wouldn't be a big deal if it actually charged while on the base with coffee in it. It does not do so. The manual states that it will keep your coffee hot while on the charger and the battery won't continue to drain. Not true. It slows down battery drain while on the base but it doesn't stop it -- at least not when the mug is set to 145 degrees. Great idea. Poor execution. This is the second gen so hopefully "charge on base while coffee in cup" is a feature they'll add for 3rd gen. I'll rebuy it then. Ember told me it "shouldn't go down in charge while on the base" but it did and fast enough to drain what was left so I returned it as defective.

However the app to manage it is terrible. Its such a pain that it deters you from using it. Half the time you have to repair it or redo all your settings/set up.
