Looks Nice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impressions of this laptop was it looks nice. It has a very high end look and feel. It’s sort of heavy and has a bit of thickness to it. The keyboard is backlit which I like. Setup was very easy. Screen is very bright and the colors look great. Browsing the internet was seamless. The trackpad reacts quickly. There are enough USB ports, 1 hdmi, 1 usb c, sd card slot, Internet port and dvd drive. I love the fingerprint sensor on the side. My only complaint about it is, the charging cable is not micro usb or usb c but an old plug in I would rather have an updated charger. Took about 2 hours to a full charge from half a charge. I think as heavy as it is, I would keep it at a desk don’t think I would want to travel with it. It should be lighter and thinner for me.

Good computer, LOUD computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was finally compelled to write a review! Good: The screen is nice and big and bright. The display is good. The backlit keyboard is good, though at some angles it's hard to read. Con: The HDD failed within 5 months. Get it replaced ASAP. THIS COMPUTER IS LOUD. Once it gets going it's like a freight train coming at you. In normal temps it's relatively fine. Once the jet engine fan kicks in, you might as well turn it off. Performance lags a little and the fan won't shut up. Also despite the graphics card, it can't seem to handle much in the way of graphics. Maybe I don't have the right settings, but some games were super laggy and all make the fan kick in immediately. If you want a 17"+ screen, this is a good option. Just be prepared for noise.

Workhorse, very reliable!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have now had this laptop for 3 years and it has served me well. Used both at home and for travel. It is not the lightest laptop out there for mobile purposes (attributable in part to the 17" screen + DVD player) but it is still manageable and more importantly, the most reliable workhorse I have ever had. I have owned Dell, Lenovo, and ASUS laptops in the past and this HP is the only one that I have had zero issues/problems with.

HP 17 inch Nvidia Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop does very well for work in education reasons an personal. It is very easy to use bit the only drawback is that the battery doesnt stay charged you have to leave the chord plugged in to keep the laptop on. They need to fix the battery to last longer without replugging it back in. Windows needs to stop updating software for computer an securoty patches an it makes the laptop slower an mess up an not shut down correctly. Reset the laptop to not get automatic updates. Otherwise it is 4 out of 5 .

Good Product Bad Battery Life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always loved HP the only thing I don't like is the battery life on the device I brought it in maybe 6 months ago to have it looked at and the sent it out because of the disc writer. They replaced the dvd drive but not the battery I was told they did but 6 months later it still doesn't hold a charge very disappointed.

Don't buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop, was excited to get a new one... Then I had to return it and get 2 new ones. The third time, they told me to put a solid state hard drive in. That was good. but 1) the wireless card failed and I had to use an external plug in to use wifi, 2) the mouse is too sensitive even after geek squad adjusted it then 3) the touch screen's digital analyzer failed and it will take a couple weeks to fix, even after I spent an extra $400 for the warranty.

Awesome Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sturdy, fast, dependable and just overall awesome. Love the touch key screen. Only thing that isn't ideal is the keyboard when lit, it's still hard to read the keys when dark

Great HP Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had it for a few weeks but I have to say it runs pretty smooth and the setup was super easy. It came with Windows 10 and plays games pretty well so far. The sound is nice. I will update more as I get used to it and can give better review. Be back in a month.

Great Looking HP Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very satisfied with this HP Laptop. Had a Dell for 2 years, had so many problems I had to dump it. This laptop works great, love the keyboard, great graphics, clarity is good. Trust HP over Dell anyday. Easy set up with WIFI etc. Highly recommend the Laptop!!

Great - but.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only complaints - WiFi is sketchy at best at 5G. Updated drivers, willing to bet this will be a hardware issue (WiFi card within machine). Also, I use F5 all the time.. page refresh, or debug start (as I'm a Software Engineer). The [fn] key activates "Action Mode" for backlit keyboard on/off. There is absolutely no indication of what will happen when you hit F5... will it refresh your page and drive you insane, or will it turn off the lights.... it's a COMPLETE guessing game. Ludicrous design flaw.. not the end of the world, but enough to make me curse HP as a company whenever it happens. In truth, I should have bought the Dell.

Hypersensitive mouse/touch pad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mouse/touch pad has a mind of it's own -- hyper sensitive -- I CAN'T STAND IT. Same goes for the touch screen -- extremely frustrating.
