Great 2-in-1 laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is specific to the HP - ENVY 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop with the AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB Memory, AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics card, and 128GB Solid State Drive. The first thing I noticed when I removed the laptop from the box was how heavy it is. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it feels very solid which leads me to believe it is very durable and will last a long time. Since the screen can rotate all the way around making it more like a tablet (hence the “2-in-1” description) a solid, durable build is important, especially at the joints where the screen rotates. I was impressed by the quality of these joints and have no worries about the lifespan of this laptop in that regard. When it comes to performance, I found it works very well and has decent battery life that is comparable to most other laptops of this size. The sound quality is better than average and the combination of the solid state drive, 8GB memory, and AMD Ryzen 5 processor result in a very quick and smooth experience. Unfortunately, the solid state drive is only 128GB which may cause issues for people who require much more storage space. Although the laptop can certainly handle mid-range gaming, it isn’t exactly designed to be a gaming laptop which would normally require significantly more storage. Overall, based on what this laptop is actually designed for, I think it is an excellent choice at its price range and I highly recommend it!

Issues with freezing within the first two weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to take the computer back to Best Buy. The touch screen stopped working and the computer froze up after downloading an udpate. It was only used two weeks. Not sure if I would recommend this or not. Time will tell since they gave us a replacement.

Okay
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop was good and light. However after having it my screen showed the blue screen. I had to return it and decided to wait on getting another one. The guys at Greek squad told me it was like a screen of death.

A Highly Competitive Mid-Range Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost everything about this HP Envy x360 laptop is good. It's lightweight and easy to carry. A dark ash gray color gives it great style on the outside. On the inside, the keys feel good and make little sound. The 2-in-1 feature (tablet mode) is useful at work or at home. I like watching movies or opening up Adobe Photoshop CC without the keyboard and touch pad in the way. It has touchscreen capabilities, a near necessity these days, but more so convenient and intuitive. The 1920x1080 resolution is crisp, and it's perfect for a 15.6" display. The touch pad is elongated to match the ratio of the screen. And the beautifully thin bezels leave more screen and less bulk. Let's get into the HP Envy x360. First, the 128 GB SSD is most welcoming here. Starting up and shutting down is fast and easy, and applications get going quick—I couldn't stand waiting and waiting for the desktop to load as well as nearly any program when it came to the relatively aged HDD in my previous laptop. The SSD makes the laptop super quiet. The 8 GB DDR4 RAM gives the laptop decent performance. The battery life, as with practically any laptop, isn't anything amazing. I personally can make this laptop last 6-8 hours before needing to charge it, but it all depends on the settings and usage. I don't know much about Bang and Olufsen Audio, but I have to say that my laptop sounds better than my girlfriend's whenever I'm watching a video or listening to music. A lot of it comes through nice and clear. Headphones or earbuds would more than likely be a better route, but for what it comes with, the built-in sound is nothing to scoff at. With AMD technology, it's clearly built to compete with higher-priced mid-range laptops, especially those powered by Intel. It has one of AMD's most powerful laptop APUs on the market, the Ryzen 5 2500U, clocking in at 2.00 GHz. And the Ryzen 5 2500U has Radeon Vega 8 graphics, which leaves this laptop performing much better than a lot of others out there in the same price range and even a little higher, as far as APUs/GPUs are concerned. Most popular games will run smooth in full resolution, but a lower resolution can boost performance if you prefer frame rate over graphical quality. But the power built into the HP Envy x360 isn't limited to games. I can run the Adobe Suite without hiccups or delays. Also worthy of note is the pen support: I like using my Bamboo Ink stylus with Photoshop, as drawing is very fluid except for complex brushes. Overall, this is a machine that packs a real punch in the mid-range laptop market. AMD has paved its way onto the mobile battlefield, and HP is utilizing their work. This laptop is positively outstanding in almost every way. I do wish it had just a little bit more RAM, but I get so much out of this laptop that I would totally recommend it over others to anyone. Unless you're into resource-heavy games (and I doubt you'd be looking at mid-range laptops anyway), the HP Envy x360 is definitely worth consideration.

More complicated to operate than my other laptops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.May be the Windows 10 and new office 365. But so far not pleased with this computer. Appears too complicated for quick usage. Will take some time to get used to. Still not as fast as my Mac Book Pro.

Don’t buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The image and video quality on the computer is terrible especially after spending over 800.00. At first I thought it was the lighting, then used my old laptop and could see a huge difference. Contacted support, they tried to say it wasn’t a manufacturer defect then they looked at pictures taken from my phone that were saved on the laptop and I sent it to them for repairs. Received it back, still not fixed. Also, I work from my computer and need to use Skype, zoom, etc...so 800.00 down the drain.

A TERRIFIC TOUCH LAPTOP/TABLET BY HP!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This HP - ENVY 2-in-1 Touch-Screen Laptop was a breeze to setup! A few questions answered, an additional WIN10 update downloaded, and I was up and running. I like that the laptop/tablet-like system was so light-weight, which will make it terrific to take on my upcoming vacation. It has the "business apps" I'll need to keep up with my business while on the road ...and... it has the "fun apps" to play with while vacationing. I downloaded a few additional apps from the MS STORE, which was quick, and the few I chose all worked really well with the ENVY. What I really liked about THIS HP ENVY was the lighted keyboard. Really helps when using in a darker environment, especially when playing a movie and you just need to make a minor adjustment with sound, etc. The keyboard has a separate "numeric pad" which I really need for entering Excel data, yet the laptop "as a whole" didn't seem overly wide, like others in the past. The system is really fast. I was impressed with the speed of different applications (...Word, Excel, Mail, etc...) loading and shutting down. The solid state drive seemed exceptionally quick to me ... 128GB is plenty of space for ME since I don't store a lot of movies, pictures, and music on my laptops - I save that for my desktop. I've never had a system with a SSD before, so I'll be anxious to see how reliable it is over the long-term, since "most systems" I've used in the last 5-8 years, I have to look at getting rid of after only 2 years in operation because the hard drives become too unstable. I had never used one of these new "tablet-like" laptops, where you fold the top backwards, onto the body of the laptop. I found it fun playing with the Stylus (..I bought separately..), and "coloring". I also liked the built-in POST-IT NOTES app that I used with the stylus OR my finger to write some reminder notes. The ENVY has a nice speaker that I could crank up and have "rather loud" sound for the movies I played. While running the movie, I didn't see any lags in the display (...like when buffering...) ... the video was crystal clear and I was impressed. Battery life was quite good. I had system charged at 100% when I unplugged, and I was able to work effortlessly for over 4 hours before I started feeling that I needed to plug in. I never like to run a battery below 15%. Overall, I think this is a terrific product from HP! Another winner in my book.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing this computer, I was contacted by a technician at Best Buy and told this new laptop didn't have sufficient space to hold my data. My old laptop had 1 TB of storage while this one only had 256 GB. I was very disappointed to learn this computer had less storage than my previous laptop. Since I was upgrading, I assumed it would be faster and have equal or more storage space than my old computer.

Performance beyond it's price point
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this laptop for various applications for a few months now and I've been very happy with it. A laptop purchase in this price range is all about the "bang for the buck" and this one gets you ahead. AMD has made high performance processors much more affordable with the release of the Ryzen line. Combine that with the integrated Vega 8 graphics and this is a very cost effective high-performing laptop. Let's start with performance - The Ryzen 5 processor in this laptop combined with the SSD is seamless and quick. There is almost no wait time whatsoever in application start-up. Web browsing and page loading is very quick. I plan to use this laptop for general applications but I wanted to put it to the test with some gaming. Running Rainbow 6 at full resolution still gave me a very quick game speed of 40 FPS. That is extremely good performance for a laptop at this price point. The Vega 8 GPU comes with integrated Radeon software that allows for very detailed configuration of the display including a VSR function. The screen is also a UWVA panel which is great for movie viewing. This laptop runs surprisingly quiet. I hear no audible throttling even during demanding applications. The Bang&Olufsen sound exceeded my expectations for a laptop this thin. The touch-screen is spot on and has the same super-reactive feel as my iPhone. Fit and Finish - I'm always picky about this, especially with convertible laptops. They are generally plagued with flimsy hinges and screen-flex. This is not the case with HP Envy 360. The hinges are tight and there is nearly no screen flex. Build quality in general is very good. This laptop feels solid and sturdy beyond it's price point. It's thin and light yet solid. The all aluminum body has a nice matte finish to it. It looks like the light silver versions are Intel based and the AMD based versions are in the dark gray. I find the dark gray far more attractive and sleek looking. The back-lit keyboard has a great feel to it and is also quiet to operate. Key layout is well thought out with lots of easily accessible one-touch functions. There is a good and complete array of ports and I/O's on this laptop. Overall I'm very happy with this laptop. You're basically getting a high-end laptop at a mid-level price point. It covers all bases for function and performance. It'll do whatever you need it to. looks and feels great, and didn't break the bank. It has exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend it to a friend.
