Decent product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wasn't sure I would like such a small, thin laptop but I love it. Gets a little hot, but other than that, it's fast, visually appealing. Happy with my purchase.

Great purchase for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great investment; I previously had a chromebook and I was looking for something basic with a little more capability—this has been perfect!

Not what I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned this laptop and stuck with my Asus Q302L which is nearly 4 years old. I had high hopes for this laptop, but it's performance was subpar. The mouse pointer was jumpy and glitchy despite having altered every accessable setting for the touch pad. This was incredibly frustrating. The touch pad is more wide than normal which may have attributed to it's poor performance. The speed of this laptop also was not anything to write home about. I had very high hopes for this beautiful computer. It is a beautiful, sleek, stylish laptop; don't get me wrong. I simply could not get over the touchpad and the lack of adequate performance that I would expect in this price point.

Not what I expect from HP
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had to contact HP several times when unable to connect to internet when other electronics had no problem. Found myself using my old HP to finish what I was doing. Will be taking to the Geek squad very soon.

Slim, lightweight sexy PC, finally!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The timing of this laptop could not have been better. Having completely switched to Macs when Windows 8 came out, I was ready to have a PC in my life. This is mainly due to some annoying pet peeves such as my NAS drive mappings wouldn’t stay mapped and I couldn’t get used to Excel shortcuts, some other annoyances here and there which I won’t get into. The first thing you’ll notice when you pick up the HP Envy X360 is the light weight and sharp (even sexy) design. It’s one of the nicer, if not the nicest, Windows laptops I’ve seen. Not quite a Macbook Pro, but nowhere near the price either. In the box, you will find the laptop, a charger and a cord that snaps into the charger. A pen for the tablet is not included, its an optional accessory. First impressions: As I said above, the laptop design is very nice, very thin and fairly minimal (once all 4 stickers are removed). The dark grey color gives it a unique, high tech look. The fit and finish is very good, I didn’t notice any defects even up close. The keyboard is a good size and has a backlight that can be turned on or off but cannot be dimmed. The sound from the Bang & Olufsen speakers are adequate, not the best sound, but for some music while you’re working, sound for a movie playing, it’s fine. If you want better sound, connect a good Bluetooth speaker to it. To adjust the volume, there are physical keys as well as a keyboard shortcut, this is so the volume can be adjusted in tablet mode. The power button is tiny slit of a button located on the left edge of the laptop, I prefer a slightly bigger button on top near the keyboard but they probably located it on the side for the tablet mode as well. Perhaps I’m nitpicking, but the button feels kind of cheap, reminds me of something you’d find on an old Walkman. It does have a light on it so you can tell if the power is on or not. Usability and performance: One of my favorite features on this laptop is the facial recognition camera. It logs you into Windows automatically, even in a dark room. If you don’t like this, a normal password can also be used. Most of the time (9 out of 10), it recognized me right away; it occasionally asked me to move forward or backward. The tablet feature is neat, although I’m not sure I would use this functionality often. As a laptop, the 3lb weight is acceptable and fairly lightweight. As a tablet, 3lbs is on the heavy side. The “tent mode” is useful to watch videos. The Ryzen 5 processor and Radeon graphics is speedy and adequate for most needs. Booting up and launching applications are very quick. Normal usage, such as Word processing, spreadsheets, internet surfing, watching videos etc, the Envy is more than capable for. My son tried teaching me how to play “Fortnite”, it worked, I got a respectable 30-40fps but the graphics wasn’t very detailed. Fortnite auto-selected “Medium” on all the graphics settings for me. The left side of the laptop, where the vents are got hot and the fan kicked into high. Conclusion: Overall, I found this laptop to be very impressive. From the aesthetics to the solid performance, this is an excellent laptop. Usually I would list out “Pro’s and con’s”, with this laptop, I don’t have any “con’s” that I came across. Sure, it would be nice of the keyboard lights dimmed, or the light didn’t spill out from under the keys on an angle, but these aren’t really big issues, to me anyway. I think I found my daily use laptop! I’ve even recommended it to a family member who was shopping for a new laptop!
