Purchased this computer for my college daughter. The computer broke down after a few days, it wouldn't turn on and then just crashed. Took it to Best Buy and the tech said the mother board crashed, it took over a week to get another computer, not good for a college student but the price was too good to get something different. New computer is great!!

This computer is just what I needed for school. It is fast and efficient. I love the touch screen/tablet mode in conjunction with all the features of a laptop. It had crashed a few times on me during the first week, but I have had it for a month and no additional crashes. It also fits in my large purse I have, which is an added benefit!

BUYER BEWARE! One expensive door stop!

Here's the skinny after my fourteen days of use... Yes it's CPU fan is loud when it comes on. You can't expand the memory past 8 gigs because RAM is soldered on mother board. It doesn't come with a digital pen/stylus. But these are cons one can live with. It's a well intentioned laptop. The solid state drive is very fast to boot up. There's no lag in the processor or the graphics. There are no hiccups. BU-BU-BU-BUT!!! This laptop cannot stay connected to wireless internet (WAN). One of the most important features of the most base PC'S is wireless connectivity. Fortunately for me I'm in IT right? I can fix this right? I'm not the average end user right? WRONG! After at least 8, count them, 8 hours that I'll not get back, the issue was unresolved. I updated all necessary software from Microsoft updates to the actual WAN drivers. I made sure my firmware was up to date on my router. I refreshed windows 10 to a fresh start and went through the steps again. I reset the network. It actually worked for a few hours and then Microsoft One Drive started synching and blamo, back to the SNAFU. It finally came down to me having to buy a USB ethernet dongle to determine whether or not the problem was hardware or software. I balked at the idea of having to do more leg work for a brand new, out of the box laptop/tablet. I'll bet a dollar to a donut it's still a software issue, but whose? Microsoft, HP, the motherboard manufacturer that houses the chipset for the WAN? Basically the next steps were the dongle test and then a thumb drive to flash/update the BIOS of the brand new laptop. Are your eyes glazed over yet? Have you started beating yourself over the head with whatever device your reading this from? Do you feel overwhelmed? Well this will be your buying experience. The only ENVY you'll feel is for someone with a laptop with useable internet. Upon returning the item the assistant manager didn't want to take it back. He wanted to exchange it for another one. Yes, let's do trade one useless $700 brick for another one. I stuck to my guns and told him I had fifteen days to return. They said I only had 14 days. Luckily it was day 14. But still he persisted. Mangers need to remember what it's like to be a customer as I am sure they buy crappy, expensive things as well. So I bored him with the same details like I did you and got my money back eventually. But he did put me into an anger state for the better half of a day upon leaving the store, like they won't just re-sell it to some other schmuck or write it off. What happened to customer service? Why must we be out into an anger state just to return stuff? Just a week prior I had dropped a chunk of change on a 4K TV and sound bar there. All I can say to this experience is, "Hello Nebraska Furniture Mart." I'll never set foot in BB again. The bottom line is a normal end-user should not be expected to handle all this. Not even with the help of HP tech support. New PCs should handle their business in a manner that is transparent to the user. This model is anything but. It is not robust. BB should adhere to a better standard of quality control. Stand behind what you sell, test it like Consumer Reports. At least for simple things like connectivity issues. Google "HP envy x360 drops wifi," and read the first result about the 15" product. Notice what the HP rep tells the person to do step wise. See if you understand the step sequence. If you understand, then take a chance, if the steps are confusing then walk away. Quickly. PS... I only paid just around $700 bucks for this laptop on Labor Day. So don't spend more than that. Find the deal or wait for it.

The laptop overheats a lot.. I use it for college and the fan is continuously coming on and it also dies fast. For simple use it is fine but I would not recommend for a college student.

My first review I gave 4 stars. Now down to 2 and I'm debating even that high. I can't keep it connected to the internet (and have seen others having the same issue). There is always a driver issue. It's loud and will turn itself off. I hate this laptop and wish I had never bought it. It's getting 2 stars at the moment because when it works, it's fine and does what it should with a good speed. But overall don't waste your money.

The HP Envy with the AMD Ryzen 7 is a good overall computer, especially if you do any gaming but the 128GB would probably have done fine and worked out better. The 256GB gets pretty hot pretty fast. Fan runs often. Would recommend getting the 128GB.

Big-screen 2-in-1 laptops often come with trade-offs. This particular convertible notebook has a slick look, a huge, 15-inch display and OK sound. Unfortunately, its screen is quite blah, its hinges are weak and its battery life is short, even by the admittedly-low standard for large notebooks. Still, this notebook offers a decent number of perks at a pretty low price. Overall, I wanted a big-screen notebook with solid audio and a sexy design. Unfortunately, it's held back by its dim, uninspiring screen, loose hinges and short battery life.

Terrible Fan Noise + Stupid Lack of Ports = Lame

The fan on this computer is deafening. You cannot do video meetings without a headset, and don't even think about working in the bedroom while someone is trying to sleep. There are some recommendations in HP forums to curtail the fan noise, but to a non-techy person they are daunting and suggest that you are essentially reducing the power of your computer so that it doesn't run the fan as often. The computer reboots itself far more often then I would like, without warning. So I have tons of Autosaved versions of Excel, PPT, and Word documents from unexpected restarts when I am getting coffee. The touchpad is too touchy and I constantly brush it accidentally and while typing and send my cursor to random spots within a document. I'm amazed with all the upselling HP and Best Buy try to pull, they both do a terrible job of bundling this computer with the adapter(s) you will need to give a presentation or just hook up to a monitor. Expect to spend $40 to $120 extra for one or more adapters so that you can connect to VGA or HDMI. Adapters that work with Apple products and its Thunderbolt don't work on this product, or sometimes they do.

I liked the size of the laptop and the general functions; however, the following issues came up many many times and after several trips back to Best Buy, they gave me a new computer (and it was NOT another HP) The USB port kept disconnecting my flash drive. I would use it maybe a min or so and then the computer disconnected it and after a few seconds it would reconnect. After investigating it via Google, apparently this was a known issue with this machine and I did not know it prior to buying the unit. And Wifi would not stay connected. It would get on the Wifi but then might kick off after a minute or two (possibly slightly longer) and then it would take awhile to reconnect and I was not even able to discover Wifi connection options without restarting the computer.

This computer has been a pretty good investment. The only problem I've had was solved with a quick online search and some adjustments to the computer settings. This computer is a good fit for any University student like myself because of its power, portability and weight. I can take it anywhere and work. The battery is okay but nowadays you can find an outlet anywhere so it's not a deal breaker.

First experience was great! until about 45 minutes after setup the LED back lit keyboard starts flickering uhhhh. So i thought no biggie I will Just exchange it. onto my second experience. so after I get the new one I check everything out it all works great, about one week into having it laying in bed watching a movie the wifi cuts out and not like my network is not working because all my other devices worked fine the wifi was good. I restart the computer wifi works again. I think okay it was a fluke about 15 min later does it again. I put it to charge then I notice its only charging to 77 Percent and will not charge past that. Today the 950 dollar experience ended second computer worked great for one week. I think if i have two defective computers one rite out of the box I am Switching Manufactures. Computer looks great but did not work as intended

Very nice and light PC. Compares favorably to the Samsung except that this doesn’t come with a pen. Face ID is great and battery life is good. Runs a little cooler and quieter than the slightly less expensive 14” HP that I tried out. Another reviewer said the screen was not very bright but I haven’t noticed it to be a problem. It’s bright enough for me.
