Hp envy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It didn’t work when I got it home so had to return it. It was an open item so it may have worked fine brand new.

Great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a great piece of technology. It is a tad bit heavy, though. I wish it was lighter in weight.

Not a good pc for those transitioning from Mac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this computer to replace my Mac and play the Sims. The pc was terrible. Had it less than a week and the option to rotate the screen when i tablet mode greyed out and i couldn’t flip the screen. It wasn’t slow. And disconnected from my WiFi 3 times without Briggs able to reconnect for hours even after running trouble shoot. I returned it and got a Mac. Just wasn’t for me.

was great when it was working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.well it worked awesome at first but after a Windows update it wouldn't browse the web properly and some applications wouldn't open then I had to restore it to a earlier build of Windows and then it worked but then it required those updates again...taking it back within 24 hours of purchasing

Excellent lap top for the price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried that 8 GB and the AMD processor wasn't enough power. I am pleasantly surprised that it is more than enough for me. I basically use a laptop to surf the net, you tube, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. My work place has switched us over to Google Docs, sheets, and their other Google suite apps and this computer handles all of this great. the 7200 rpm disk drive is more than adequate for opening up programs, apps and files. I do not game, but I am sure that it would be able to handle some light gaming. I love the display. I thought that 1080p would not be enough, but it is a great display. I like the colors and at 15.6" 1080p scales most programs well. I have used some 4K laptops and the scaling is not always great and it can make certain things very difficult to see since it is so small. I did not have this issue with this laptop. The touch display worked well for me too. I like the layout of the keyboard and love that it has a numeric keypad. Travel space is nice and very accurate. The only thing I did not like about the keyboard were the smaller up/down/right/left buttons. I was happy with the port selection, usb C, HDMI, SD card slot, headphones and two USB 3 ports. You really won't need to use a dongle on this laptop. Build is nice. You can actually open up the laptop with one hand. There is some movement with the display when typing, but not too noticeable. The fact that you can fold the laptop in half to turn it into a tablet is a nice bonus feature. It is nice and light and easy to carry in your hand or in a backpack. If you are looking for a nice entry level home laptop that won't be outdated in a year this is a great laptop.

Was a good laptop until it dropped from 3ft.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer was in a carrying case and dropped from 3ft. The screen shattered on the side and the frame of the laptop is now bent. Now I have a really expensive paperweight. On a side note, it was kinda sluggish and was bottlenecked by the hard drive. The screen could of brighter but the keyboard was nice but felt flimsy.

Broke my heart
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful, but the one I bought kept getting a black screen. It overheated easily. I stopped using it when smoke came out of it. Unfortunately, didn't get to use it much. A bit big for traveling.

Too many Bugs!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had one problem after another with this computer. Even exchanged it for another one but the same problems of it going to black for no reason still persist. Admittedly, I am not the most computer savvy person around but this one stops when it wants. It is not user friendly at all.

Expensive computer, poor quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is not as promised! Not even two weeks old, and the computer is having issues with not turning on. After pushing start button a few times, the computer comes on and freezes in Automatic Repair mode for over 30 minutes. Have been dealing with HP directly as my experience with Best Buy's customer service has been absolutely the worst. No apologies from Best Buy, just "we understand how you feel". NO, they don't! False promised and they don't follow through. I will not step foot in a Best Buy store again. My computer and all other purchases will be made elsewhere.

do not like the laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.biggest problem is that the set up from Best Buy was poor I was sold the incorrect software Paid good money for services I really did not receive, had to come back to store twice and call the Geek Squad twice and agents were not able to help me

Lemon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had hopes for this machine, but alas it was a lemon. It crashed right out of the box. All programs began "disappearing" immediately after the initial set up out of the box, leaving it to be absolutely useless. Returned to best buy the next day and went to wal-mart to purchase a similar HP with-in my price range, (which i am using to write this review that best buy keeps asking me to write). Will not purchase another computer from best buy, as I've told this story to many people, it turns out this is pretty common with computers they sell. Maybe the hp envy is a good computer, but the one i got from best buy was nothing more than an expensive paper weight.

Great computer, One Flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine is incredibly quick and responsive. I consider it a perfect computer for productivity. Graphics performance is well above average for a machine without a dedicated GPU. Sound quality is passable. IO is good for a device at this price point. Battery life is a solid 5-6 hours with a mix of video playback and casual browsing. Keyboard has good throw and works well. The touchpad is only average, nothing good about it, but nothing incredibly bad either. There are 2 things I would change. 1. The display. It's a 1080p panel and it's certainly serviceable, but it has pretty bad backlight bleed that is especially noticeable in low light. Content creators steer clear 2. The drive. It's pretty quick at 7400 rpm, but I'd like to see a version with a SSD because it's a convertible and moves around a lot. I'd buy it again, but I'd have paid 100 dollars more if it meant I got a better panel and a 256gb SSD.

Nothing but issues.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had nothing but issues with this laptop ever since I got it. I got it repaired at geek squad to replace the hard drive because it was already failing after about two-three months of use, I have contacted hp which told me that there are no issues. I paid for a $700 laptop for college as a single mom, just for it to freeze, and has even gone completely blank on the screen during a graded final exam for one of my courses. 10/10 would NOT recommend. It is still causing me issues, and I have only had it for half a year. I tell everyone to steer clear of this laptop.
