Not worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've decided to write a review on this laptop, i have now owned it about 5 or 6 months. I use this laptop only for school purposes, researching, writing papers, viewing school related documents and the occasional YouTube video. The touch screen is nice but I've yet to use it. This laptop is very slow, the mouse pad is terrible, doesn't register clicks all the time, that gets frustrating to keep clicking and clicking. It also gets warm very easily. I wish i would have done my research on this laptop but I was in a pinch and needed a "good" laptop for school and the Best Buy employee recommended this one. Boy was he wrong. Learn from my mistake and skip this one folks.

it was ok until
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.BLACK OUT WHILE WATCHING VIDEOS OR MOVIES. Black outs happen during CPU intensive work and there has been no solution. i researched online and saw that this is a reoccurring problem. it has been very irritating and being my FIRST Hp laptop i was very disappointed. Otherwise. Its a great computer. i now have to return it due to this. I was excited but now i regret it. I NEED A SOLUTION.

RUN AWAY, AS FAR AS YOU CAN. Total garbage.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like so many others here, this laptop has been a disaster from the beginning. My screen consistently goes black for a few seconds at a time, multiple times a day. Basic tasks such as surfing the internet - not even streaming media - will cause this machine to get super hot. And just like many others, my left hinge has broken and the screen is pulling apart from the case. This happened just from opening it one day. I literally can't even close the laptop because the entire back casing threatens to pull off all along the bottom. This thing is only 8 months old ... I can't believe I have to deal with warranty issues like this, especially since HP has had this hinge issue on multiple models for the past few years. This obvious design defect should NOT still be an issue. And of course HP won't let local repair shops do warranty work, so I have to send it in and lose access to my machine for over a week. I am *livid* that this thing has been so crappy. Never again, HP. Never again.

bad computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know if my laptop was defective because of all the good reviews, I bought this laptop because of its good reviews but it just does not do its work. It is very slow dies very fast and it just does not live up to what I was expecting. I invested more that 600 in a laptop that I'm going to have to sell for much less now. I am a college student I need something reliable.

Slow and Crashes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was promised by the seller from HP that was at Best Buy that this was a super fast gaming computer that would be great for editing videos and video streaming. So far it is slow and crashed twice. I am returning this to my local Best Buy and getting a refund.

HP Tech Support SUCKS! HDD fail at 7 mos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would NOT buy this laptop again! We purchased it for my daughter to use at school. After just 7 months the Laptop was totally dead. Apparently the Hard Drive failed. HP charged $53 to fix HDD under warranty.
