Sleek and Fast but Overheats
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my HP Envoy for almost a month now, and I've come to like and not like a few things about it. I like the laptop's sleek look, it's keyboard (other than it's slightly farther back than I like) and ten key, the 15.6" screen, and the volume. However, I'm not too happy (well, not happy at all) with the mouse (it's situated in an odd place and is too sensitive), the touch screen (I rarely use it; plus, it isn't as functional as a normal tablet or iPad), its image quality, and most of all: IT OVERHEATS. The main reason I got a new laptop is because my last one overheated---to the point of burning up my hard drive. I was hoping a new laptop would stay cool for the long hours I have to work on it (all my work is on the computer). I've tried several things to help keep the HP Envoy somewhat cool, which have slightly helped but not resolved the problem. So I suggest doing these things to keep it cool if you get one: be sure to install HP Coolsense, disable the touchscreen, and keep all documents/images/files on an external hard drive or a form of cloud storage.

Outstanding Computer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is actually more computer than I needed, but with a price reduction AND student discount, I had to buy it. I'm a college student and I've been using a fairly small Samsung Chromebook in class. I wanted to step up from that and to get a Windows machine. The large size makes it a bit clunky, although tolerable for classroom use, but I love it in the library and at home! The SSD is amazing. Boot up time is ridiculously fast. Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat Pro take forever to load on my desktop but are up in no time with this laptop. My only complaint (and it's been a complaint with HP for awhile -- I've owned several) is the super glossy screen. Reflections get in the way sometimes. Love the lighted KB. Would definitely recommend this to a friend. By the way, I also bought a stylus for it. Haven't really spent time using it yet. Kinda nice for highlighting, though.

Love this Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been an incredible laptop. I am positive I didn't even use it in all of the ways it could be. The only problem I had was that the battery went weak on me faster than I expected. Great laptop!

Great Laptop for the Average User
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a new computer after my 4 year old ASUS completely died (fried motherboard). I'm a grad student, so I don't game, manage large files, or require heavy duty software. I have pictures, some videos, and a good deal of pdfs, word docs, and excel docs. I researched specs and available products thoroughly, and determined I wanted an Intel i5 core, 8-12 gb of RAM, a 2-in-1 machine, and a solid state drive. I came down to a few and settled on this product because it met all of my needs within a reasonable price (I did take advantage of the sales and had a coupon). It's fast, pretty, holds my files, and gives me superior functionality. My only qualm was the size of the SSD. At 256gb, it would meet my needs, but I wanted to be sure I had room to grow (since I keep my devices until they die). I'd previously operated on a traditional hard drive at 750gb, but never came close to filling it. The salesman tried to sell me on a second external hard drive for overflow storage. I have one already for backup purposes. What I wound up doing was taking my old hard drive from my fried computer (which was perfectly fine) and converting it to external storage. I'll use one for storage of files that I don't need to have immediate access to (old pictures, past schoolwork) and the other to act as a back up for both my computer and my external storage device. What I would recommend to the average jane user is to evaluate your current storage. 256 seems to be the acceptable median storage size, and 512 is better if you have the money. Don't go for 128gb - you'll fill up quickly.

Great everyday work laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVED everything about this laptop until it was stolen while I was visiting San Francisco. It was a great work from home laptop during the height of the pandemic. I love the power cord placement compared to the newer models. And for me, the numeric pad was awesome. No issues it the touch screen at all. Great buy.

So far, so good..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this for a week now and I am beyond obsessed honestly. I had a HP Stream for 2 years and finally decided to spoil myself as I am in school and work fulltime so being able to complete my work from home and/or do online assignments is my ultimate goal without the lagging and slow startup. My IT colleague recommended getting a Dell but I was drawn to the sleek look and how beautiful the screen. I purchased the Bamboo Ink with this and am learning to use my laptop to the best capacity as I did spend a lot of money for it! I am very happy. Does not overheat, fan is not loud as others stated and only runs for 5-10 mins stops, the battery is amazing and the weight is a tad bit heavy but for a 15.6 and touchscreen 2 in 1, this product is very reliable!

Good speed, nice looking, but gets too hot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return this laptop after two days of buying because it was getting over heated. Also the battery life wasn't longer as expected. However, the speed, design, and size of the laptop are great.

Nice but poor battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having this laptop for 3 weeks. Its nice, ergonomically correct. Love the touch screen option even though I haven't really used it. I haven't used or figured out the pen use either. One thing I don't like is the battery life. very poor battery life (not as advertised)

Good, but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is a decent machine overall. Decent specs, and it will be a pretty decent performer. The things I didn't like about this laptop is while the 10 key is a decent addition, it makes this keyboard feel awkward and I was consistently hitting wrong buttons at first. Not the greatest display, dimmer than I would have liked to see. Battery life shouldn't be expected to be anything great, but it will be average. Hinge/durability is questionable, but should hold up as long as you're easy on it. Overall, this is a decent value and a decent laptop, but there are better options to be had.

It is highly recommended for the students.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The touch screen response is great. Picture quality is very good. Battery life is acceptable. I recommend changing the power setting manually. After I enabled the hibernate mode and changed the sleep to hibernate after 20 minutes(if not in use) my battery life doubled. Why not 5 stars? It does not come with a USB -C charger and you can't charge it with the USB-C. It's fast. Sound quality is good. The keyboard bakelite is good but it doesn't have light adjustment option(On/Off only). No freeze. No connectivity problem. It has a good webcam. I have bought an HP pen for that(Wish it came with!!) Battery Life is really poor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no problems with the laptop when it's plugged in. It's quick, doesn't seem to have memory problems, feels nice to type on, etc. But, every time I've tried to go on just battery life, I can't get more than 2-2.5hrs out of it. I'm not running any kind of heavy programs in the background that I'm aware of. I mostly use browser based programs. I used to get more battery life from laptops 10 years ago. When I bought this, I though for sure I'd get 5-6 hours out of it anyway but nope! If it weren't for that, I'd surely give it at least a 4 star review. I haven't done anything with the touch pad or any of those types of features so I basically wasted a lot of money on features I'll never use. I'd ask for some sort of guarantee on battery life if I were to purchase again.

Terrific
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this about a week now, so can't comment on long term use, but so far it's great! I had read about the fan being loud, but I haven't experienced that. I do feel it when it comes on, but it's not loud. Love the backlit keys! Lightweight and pretty straight forward setting it up. I will say the fingerprint scanner doesn't work most of the time, but it's easier for me to enter a pin. I would definitely recommend this laptop.

Good Laptop for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really needed a new laptop after my Dell crashed on me after 10 years. I had been browsing around for a while when I finally saw this one. It matched all of the specs that I was looking for and the screen is amazing! The features are nice as well. So far, so good. The only thing I dislike about it is the lagging. Certain websites and programs lag. As I write this review, the computer is lagging, so I may exchange it for another one. Besides that, I really like this purchase! The sound is amazing and so is the backlit keyboard.

A good deal
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop a week ago. So far it doesn't have any problem but there are some minor deficiencies like the battery doesn't last as long as it claims (for 8 hr at best) and it makes some noises sometimes (not long) with its cooling system or something. Except for these, the rest is great: the screen, backlit keyboard, fingerprint login, speed etc. Overall, it's a good deal.

HP ENVY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for a little over a month now and I love it! The touchscreen, volume, size of screen, lighted keyboard and firmness of keys make it an ideal machine for my needs. Using the fold method to transform it into a tablet has been an added bonus for my classes. On top of all of these positives, my father was able to purchase online in Atlanta using my student discount and I picked it up in store in Houston...great job HP!

Good for home use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good laptop for its price. I looked at some of the core I7 laptops at the store and tried one at home. The fan noise was making the experience very uncomfortable. The I5 has some fan noise but not irritating. It is a fast machine and for my home purposes this is a great buy. The finger print reader is finicky, and some of the recommended uploads from HP site did not work properly, hence my rating of 4 stars.
