Unfortunately, it also uses color when using gray scale only to keep the nozzles lubricated and to prevent corrosion and damage which is actually a good thing. The only flaw is that the cartridges are very small so use "draft" in your printer settings to save ink if you don't need darker print outs...

Replacements needed too frequently.

After two months I needed to replace my cartridges. I did clean the printer head which wastes some of the ink, but it shouldn't use that much. I would say it's my printer (Epson 310) but I've used an off brand replacement before, on the same printer, and they lasted me much longer. I'm not sure if they are the best to use, but they definitely are much more worth it, and at less than half the price. I put 2 stars because the quality is pretty good.

Ran out of ink and bought replacements but once I put them in the printer needed to be calibrated and what not. By the time the printer was printing correctly I received a popup that my ink levels were low and to reorder.....what a waste.
