    I've had a couple of Epson printers that took these cartridges and they are ok. Nothing spectacular about them. They can get expensive when having to replace 3 or 4 times per year. I have upgraded to the Epson with the ink tanks.

    Better to get the XL which lasts longer however I'm still disappointed in the printer - it does let you print a few pages when one of the colors runs out but that's it, then you are forced to purchase the color once you've reached that allotment.

    The standard 220 cartridge has a low volume output. I got only about 120 Pages; some were draft quality, and no photos which is quite a few less than I got with an HP 74 black cartridge in my old printer. I would recommend using a 220 XL cartridge
