High Upfront Cost, Savings In the Long Run

--- SETUP --- The process for setting up the printer takes around 15 minutes. It’s quick to fill each ink tank with ink. However, there is an ink process that takes 11 minutes alone. The good thing is that, while that is happening, you can use the app to do other things you need to make the printer functional, like connect it to your WiFi setup. --- FEATURES --- This printer allows you to scan, copy, and wirelessly print from a computer or your phone. It is also cartridge free, so the ink goes directly into ink tanks inside the printer. --- PERFORMANCE --- The printer is made for home use, so the review will reflect home use. Note that there is a difference between home use and home office use. This review is specifically for home only. The Epson 2800 can print around 10 pages of black and white or 5 colored pages per minute. One color picture took around 4 minutes on an 8 ½ by 11 inch ultra premium glossy paper. The photo image came out pretty close to the picture I sent from my phone. As far as printing documents on regular paper, the printer is top notch in the quality department. I was able to get 10 pages of black and white and 5 pages of colored paper within a minute's time. Scanning worked great too and I was able to send the image to my computer. I recommend you download the Epson suite for the printer to give you these advanced features. Other than that, this printer doesn’t have many bells and whistles but it will save you on buying ink, as a pack of colored ink bottles comes out to around 45 bucks and the black ink bottle comes out to 20 dollars. The ink is to last you for 2 years and can be refilled before the entire ink tank is consumed, so you can always have backup ink saved when you need it most. --- EXPECTATIONS --- For the price, I would have expected this printer to have a front or rear loading paper tray. Instead, it has a paper feed where you can fit 100 regular sheets of paper that will be visible the entire time. Because of this, the printer is also only capable of printing single-sided. Though this is meant for home use, in today’s age, most people have a use for double-sided printing. For the price, I feel like both of these lacking features will be a disappointment to consumers. Essentially, what ends up happening is that you are paying a higher price upfront for the printer but end up saving in the long run if you keep the printer long enough. Think back to your last printer. If you had that for more than 2 years, then this would be a good investment for you. In my experience, though I do have printers at home that have lasted more than 2 years, I don’t think I’ve consumed 2 years worth of ink from them. The higher upfront cost doesn’t justify the savings that this printer will bring. --- APPROVAL --- The Epson printer will serve the needs of students or people who don’t print large quantities of paper at once and also don’t need to print double-sided. If you are one of the above, then this printer is for you.

I just wanted a basic printer, with occasional scanning capabilities, where I didn't have to repeatedly buy overpriced ink cartridges that cost more than literal gold per oz. The ET-2800 has met all my needs. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and I've even been able to print images and documents directly from my phone 10/10. Would recommend.

GOOD QUALITY – BASIC SUPERTANK ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER

REVIEW: EPSON - ECOTANK ET-2800 WIRELESS COLOR ALL-IN-ONE CARTRIDGE-FREE SUPERTANK PRINTER WITH SCAN AND COPY MODEL:C11CJ66202 GOOD QUALITY – BASIC SUPERTANK ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER / SCANNER The ECOTANK ET-2800 WIRELESS COLOR ALL-IN-ONE CARTRIDGE-FREE SUPERTANK is winning me over. The scan quality is actually very good, and the print quality is good. Actually, the color printing is more clear than the black printing in my tests. If you need a good no frills all around color printer / scanner the - ECOTANK ET-2800 WIRELESS COLOR ALL-IN-ONE CARTRIDGE-FREE SUPERTANK is a safe bet. It does not win any speed records, but the quality is overall pretty good. When I compare scans at 600DPI to other scanners I have, it is almost identical (see pics). The scans from the Epson were a touch softer, but the Epson did better at capturing brighter images. The print speed is slow, especially at high quality, but within stated specs (so no points off). As an example, I printed our 15 page appraisal report from our realtor. It contains a mixture of text, pictures, and charts. It took about 10 minutes to complete the printout. I would suggest you download and install the PC software from the Epson site to be able to use advanced features when scanning. I used the suggested Android app to scan and print which worked easily enough, but the results were poor, event when set to HQ. Still, if you need to print from your phone, it is probably not a situation that requires high quality. PRO’s - Very Good Scanning - Good Enough Printing Quality for Occasional use - WiFi Connectivity - Copy Feature does not require a pc and works very well (see pic) WHAT IS A SUPERTANK PRINTER? Back in the olden days (5-15 years ago), you bought a color ink jet printer for $59, but then the ink cartridges were up to $80 each (possibly even for each color). For infrequent users, often times, the ink would dry up before you came anywhere near using all the ink. So, off to the store to spend another $100 on ink. My solution at the time (15 years ago) was to get a color laser printer although more expensive ($500) initially, it allowed me to run 1-2 years before needed to replace cartridges. A few years ago all the ink jet makers started to switch to a supertank method where you initially pay a little more for the printer, but it usually comes with enough ink (via poured in bottles of ink) to last a few years for average home use. We probably print 5-10 pages per week. We have a different supertank printer (without scanner) and after 1.5 years we have only used about 1/2 of the included ink. I have a small concern about how fast I’m already burning through ink on the ECOTANK ET-2800 WIRELESS COLOR ALL-IN-ONE CARTRIDGE-FREE SUPERTANK. I’ve printed about 30 pages (HQ and lots of pics) and my ink levels are already down about 20% from where I started. Fortunately, INK is only $14 / bottle. I normally don’t print pics or HQ, so I assume my consumption rate will decline. SETUP I’m not going to lie, just about every device (this one included) that tries to make you do setup over the phone app is a huge hassle. My advice is to do the setup manually from the control panel screen on the printer and save yourself from pulling your hair out. (I don’t have that much to lose anymore). I followed the quick start guide and tried to do the install form the phone app. At first it could not see the printer on the default screen. Then I hit “menu” and “+” to add a printer, and it still was not seeing the printer. Then, as I started to power down the printer and suddenly it showed up in the phone app. I restarted the printer, and using the “+” method, it found the printer and nicely walked me step by step filling the ink and so on. Then it came time to enter my wifi information in the phone app for the phone to configure the printer. As soon as I hit “OK/SAVE” the phone lost contact with the printer and I could never get it back. Finally, I used the control panel on the printer to complete the WIFI setup, and this time it worked. The printer connected to my network, and it even found and downloaded new firmware without needing a screen. This time when I launched the phone app, the printer was found and I could scan / print from my phone, which was nice. SUMMARY / RECOMMENDATION If like me, you don’t print a lot (for home use) and sometimes need to scan, then the ECOTANK ET-2800 WIRELESS COLOR ALL-IN-ONE CARTRIDGE-FREE SUPERTANK does a very good job, without breaking the bank. If you need speed, then you need look at higher end models. The scanner is only a flatbed, so if you need a document feeder for scanning, then you need to look at a higher model. These are not negatives as the box even says right on the label “BASIC HOME PRINTER”. I can’t say it any better.

I had bought this same printer for my mom, and it's awesome. Super easy to set up, sips ink and the quality of printing is fantastic. So I got this one for home, and then thought "well I don't print that much, it's probably much more than I need". I returned it and regret it now. Why? Because I bought an inexpensive printer elsewhere... but the ink cost is ridiculous. That "inexpensive" printer will end up costing so much more over time than this one would have. Perfect example of a "penny wise, pound foolish" situation. Not to mention the hassle of having to constantly go buy ink, usually because the cheap one runs out in the middle of printing a super important document. With this printer, you see exactly how much ink is left per color and have plenty of warning to purchase only the color you need. I highly recommend this printer for convenience and quality. Invest a little more now and you will save a ton of money in the long run.

Epson ET-2800 Review This is my second purchase of the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 printer. My first purchase was in January 2023. Most of my printing is in black ink. It prints clean, fast and the ink is dry immediately after printing. The ink lasts much, much longer than my previous Epson printer which used cartridge inks. Therefore, my expense for replacing ink has been markedly reduced. The printer has a small foot print taking up little space. Too me it makes acceptable noise while printing. It only prints legal size and letter size. Epson updates me regularly on new drives, and other applicable usage. After about a year, it ceased to print in color which did not bother me. After the second year it had a paper jam which I could not un-jam. In order to un-jam it I thought that I would need to take off its bottom. The top did not come completely off like the instructions said it should. I am mechanically inclined. I liked this model so much that I immediately ordered the same model. Meanwhile I took the first now jammed model into the store. A Geek Squad staff un-jammed that printer without taking off its bottom. Again, the top did not come off. However, he took a lot of time and eventually he was able to remove the jammed sheet of paper in bits and pieces. The printer works but only using black ink. Then I went over and pickup the second same model printer. I am keeping the first model. Eventually I'll have its print heads thoroughly cleaned. Am now using the second same model printer. However, to avoid the color heads from drying out due to infrequent usage, now I print in color a few times each month to keep the color heads working. Since most of my printing is still almost always in black, I add different colors to labels. Also a few times a month I'll print out Asian meals which I see on line. They contain multiple colors. Because I'm involve in counseling and researching, I do a great deal of printing. I've had this second printer since the end of April 2025. I estimate that it still has 60% of black ink and 80% of each color ink after two months of usage. All in all I am very, very happy with this model printer. After all I did purchased the same model again. I highly recommend purchasing the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 printer to others.

It’s easy to use. Connects to your phone and laptop wireless. Love that the ink doesn’t run out easily and you can use different types of paper!! Only reason I don’t do 5 stars it’s because I haven’t figure it out how to scan documents without a cable and you have to purchase that cable separately.

Off the bat, setup was maybe a total of 35 minutes from the time I started unboxing it. After that great start, I also found The Epson ET-2800 printer easy to use. The quality of the printing has been perfect for my business and personal use. I work from home (graphic design) so this comes in especially handy for me because sub-par quality is not an option for my customers and they were not disappointed. I’ll cover that more a little later on the review. Another amazing feature, and in some ways the best one of all is the ET-2800 comes with more than enough ink so re-ordering toner as frequently as I normally do is one less thing I will have to worry about. Loading the ink tanks was easy and without any hassle. You can load paper into the ET-2800 via the front tray, rear paper feed or automatic feeder. The wireless capability made it so I could use it from any device in the house which is super convenient for schoolwork, my business, or just for fun. There are even voice-activated commands that both me and my daughter got a kick out of, not to mention it makes it extra convenient when I need an extra set of hands that aren’t available. The ET-2800 features a small colored screen that makes faxing, scanning, and settings adjustments a breeze. The print quality is top of the line. Accurate colors, no smudges, and clear as can be. You’d think that a machine with all of these capabilities would take up a ton of space, but it doesn’t. It fits right next to my desktop in my home office and takes up even less space than my other inkjet printer that held far less ink and wasn’t as productive as this machine. I highly recommend this for home use, especially if you work from home. This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I have owned Epson Eco Tank Printers since they first came out years ago. What caught my eye toward these printers was the longevity of the ink. It is true that the ink last forever and I was amazed at how well it printed, and I only purchased the ink one time in 5 years. I was so impressed with my printer that I purchased the ET-2800 for my granddaughter when she started college. I don’t think she has ordered ink in the 3 years. This year I needed a fax machine, so I purchased the ET-4850 which is wonderful and gave my original Eco Tank printer to another granddaughter and she loves it so much she sent me a picture that was printed off of the printer I gave her, and I have to say it looked really good. Then I needed a printer for sublimation, so I purchased the ET-4800 and I have to say it prints as wonderful as the others that I have purchased in the past. No problems at all with the Hippoo or StarCraft ink that I purchased for sublimation. Which brings us to the ET-2850 printer, since the ET-4850 is a bottom feeder only some of my sticker paper had a hard time feeding from the bottom tray due to the thickness of the paper. So, I purchased the ET-2850 which is a back feeder printer. Once again, this printer Epson Eco Tank printer does not disappoint. It printer my stickers and labels beautiful. There is never a problem with the feeder even if the paper is thicker. I’m so happy with the ease of use with these printers. I will not purchase any other printers than the Epson Eco Tank printers. In the past I was spending so much money on ink so when I found my first Epson Eco Tank printer I was sold for life. It doesn’t matter which one I purchase all of them are superior in my opinion. They are not heavy like most printers which makes it easy for me to place them where I need to. The size is smaller than a lot of other printers which is a plus. I find that the ET- 2850 prints just as good as my ET-4850 and the only difference is that the ET-4850 has a fax machine. The scanning of both machines are the same.

I’ve never owned a printer that I’ve been happy with. They get outdated quick, ink/toner is expensive, software issues, or printer head clogs. So far this one had functioned as expected. I was disappointed that it doesn’t print on both sides, It didn’t occur to me that this wasn’t a standard feature. Every printer I looked at printed double sided. My fault for failing to notice. Print quality is good. I have reservations about the ink tanks being built into the printer but hopefully this will continue to keep the price of refills low. All in all I’d say it performs as expected. In hindsight I would have paid more to have multi page scanning, double sided printing, and have the paper contained in a tray.
