Excellent printer though $$$ for a basic printer

Excellent printer, does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Yes it is on the more expensive side for a inkjet printer, however the refillable ink does change the game. No need to worry about expensive cartridges or drying out problems. The printer is not forever though, the ink pad will get pad after couple thousand prints. PROS: excellent reliable printer, refillable ink, longevity is good. CONS: expensive for a standard printer, no double sided printing with this model, or fax, kind of noisy, no ADF for scanner. Getting these features in an ecotank is $$$$

Better than my last Epson, but...

Pros: The print quality on documents is significantly better than those produced by my Epson WF-3640. Sadly, that is a low bar. The eco tank is a game changer in saving money vs the previous generation of printer's ink cartridges. The printer is relatively quiet. Cons: The set up process seems a bit cumbersome. I could see someone with either low patience or no tech background getting frustrated with it. The Ugly: I have not been able to get the scanner to work. It simply does not recognize my Linux computer via the usb hookup. It is possible this is a problem with the cable I used. Unfortunately, the printer I received did not have a USB cable, so I used my old cable from the aforementioned WF-3640. I should also mention that printer would save scanned documents to a thumb drive I had on it that would be recognized as a location by my computer, but it too never saved scanned documents directly to my computer. Sadly the ET-2800 does not have that capability as there are no USB/CF ports on the printer. As I can not scan pictures at this time, I cannot speak to print quality for pictures, but the documents have been good. Conslusion. I'm pretty sure the problems I'm having with the scan function are related to Epson machines not playing nicely with Linux, my operating system, but cannot ignore the fact that I can only operate the print function of the machine. Very disappointing. I'm also sure it will work just fine for the 98% of you out there still using the Windows or Mac OS machines. Recommend for Windows & Mac...not for Linux Ubuntu Mate

Great printer! Love the fact of no one cartridges. Only feature I miss from having on previous printer is automatic dual side printing. Comes in handy.

Very good basic printer at a good price. I bought this to get away from the high cost of print cartridges required when using other brands. The paper feed could be better. The paper sticks up from the back and will curl over time. It only prints one-sided, which is a drawback, but my fault for not researching it first.

My wife needed a sublimation printer. So we bought this one and replaced the ink with sublimation ink. It's been great and I highly recommend it. We have an additional older ecotank series printer for regular print tasks and it has also been a trooper, able to handle our particularly heavy work loads. I'll be buying more printers in this category. As an IT professional of 20 years, this is saying a lot.

    A printer that saves

It is a pretty good printer in terms of saving ink and money, they are not the typical printers that after a few days you have to buy another ink cartridge that cost as much as the printer itself. This printer uses ink tanks that can be refilled and last for months with the same inks and the method of refilling cartridges is quite easy and not messy by not having to fill up with ink 100% recommendable.

This was simple to set up and it's proving simple to use. I do have a small issue with the display window on the front: you can read it if you have beyond perfect vision, and the directions on that screen aren't clear, but it's not proving a hindrance to using the printer. I bought it because I do a little printing and didn't need anything more sophisticated. The eco tank is a HUGE plus.

Works really well. Like the larger ink tanks rather than the cartridges I used to have. Had a little trouble getting it set up but that was probably something on my end. I powered it off then on again and it's been working great ever since.

Epson has several models similar to the EcoTank ET-2800. Some have a paper feeder on the top and use a paper tray feeder that is located on the bottom of the printer. I really like the ET-2800 because of the small size, light weight, and lower cost. The rear-feed for paper creates a straight paper path more suitable for photo paper and heavier card stock. The ink tank design saves time and money with less need to refill consumables.

I needed a simple, basic printer for my home office and this printer meets my needs. I like the printer ink system. The printer requires very little assembly out of the box. Linking it to my laptop was a little more complicated than I had expected but that was largely my fault. It is easy to use.
