    Connected to Home Internet quickly

Quickly connected to my Home Internet, but i was unable to connect thru my alternative device. The screen is tiny compared to my previous printer. That Epson printer lasted 10 years, so i stuck with Epson brand for a printer.

    rewiew ET - 2580 compared to ET-3750

We had the previous / earlier model ET 3750. We have only used the new one for a few weeks and it has worked fine, uses the same ink. there is an issue with the speed, and it takes a while to figure out the optimal settings. We like to print saving ink, which is controlled by the paper type setting, which is not an intuitive thought process

Painless WiFi setup and inexpensive printing

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: 1. Painless WiFi connection setup. 2. Inexpensive printing. 3. Smooth double sided printing. 4. Reliable. 5. Cartridge free. Cons: 1. Printing quality is not good, just tolerable. For example, red color looks like pink. 2. Started skipping lines after two weeks. (Skipping lines can be fixed by head cleaning.)

good printer, but for a dinosaur like me the setup instructions were woefully inadequate. Especially since they kept referring to online setup instructions...which conveniently omit what you need to know

I really like this printer. The only reason I give it a 4 star review is because the selections on the tiny screen is so small you almost need a magnifier to read it! The least they could do was make the screen as large as previous Epson printers I have owned.

Can't get past a setup step

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Maybe it will work, eventually. Can't get past the "ink charging" step in set-up. Called customer service and apparently it is a (known?) problem requiring a technician's help. Late the next day I received two calls from a "restricted" caller id. The day after that my voice mail said an Epson technician had tried to call. The next day a basement construction project began at our house and since that is where the computer setup is located I need to be wait until it is completed. So, maybe it will work eventually. Note to Epson: I don't answer "restricted caller" calls

    What a piece of crap

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This printer is a major pain and the original advert for it is very, very misleading. First, forget about double-sided printing. Yes, it will print double-sided... IF you manually feed it page by page. This does not fit my description of double-sided printing capability. Second, you can not send more than one document to the printer at a time... in other words, is incapable of queuing up. The only advantage is that it's great when it comes to ink. It loads lots of ink at a time, and the ink is comparitively inexpensive. This advantage, while making it cost effective, does not make up for the inefficiencies.

Beware of specs - no ethernet and terrible wireles

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This will probably be a return. First a warning, the Best Buy website lists this printer as having ethernet, it does not. This means if you want network connectivity you must use wireless which, as noted in other reviews, is terrible and difficult to get connected. The application with the chat style interface is awful. Better off using the tiny screen. If I get connected and manage to use it some I will update this review.

    Disappointing, given reviews

Easy to set up, but given the great reviews, I was sorely disappointed at the color print quality and what feels like constant glitches I have to deal with just to make printouts. I am getting sick and tired of having to troubleshoot on a new printer.

It’s working like it’s supposed to! It also makes copies, which I didn’t know, and the color print and copy capability is wonderful. So far, I’m really happy with this purchase.

The printer itself is great...now! I was able to get my phone to pare, but I worked for over a week on getting my laptop to work! So after phone calls to Best Buy and Epson and NO Help from either. I was finally able, by myself, get my laptop to work and then my wife's.

    Planned obsolescence... lasted 2 years

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Be very wary that this printer is designed to disable itself when an internal counter that keeps track of the usage of the (replaceable) ink pad in the back of the printer reaches a fixed limit. Inkjet printers, by design, need to shed excess ink at certain times and there is a reservoir that is used to store this ink. At times it would be needed to replace the pads in that reservoir when they get too saturated. EPSON has smartly designed these printers so the user can do this (by including a door on the right rear of the printer and user replaceable ink pads) but has not included the ability to reset the internal counter in the firmware in this model (I have an ET-2760 which has the same problem). As a result, when the counter tells the printer the pad is full, the printer will STOP WORKING and tell you that you need to get your printer serviced ($$). Their documentation claims some kind of nonsense about the "risks of property damage or personal injury" but that doesn't explain why the ET-3XXX and ET-4XXX printers DO allow the user to reset the counter. This is PURELY a money grab by EPSON and the result is that most people will end up throwing away their printer. Hardly "Eco-friendly" at all. EPSON can do better and all it takes is to enable the counter reset ability in ALL their EcoTank printers. They were on the right track by providing a means to replace the ink pads but then some bean-counter decided they could make more money by making resetting of the ink pad usage counter a premium feature. There is a cottage industry of people who sell software to allow end users to reset the counter but all this tells me is that there are enough of these EPSON printers with built-in obsolescence to warrant a class-action lawsuit. Don't buy this printer without the understanding that it is DESIGNED to turn into a brick.

    EcoTank Not Worth the Money!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The super tank ink system is great, however, the printer lacks ease of WiFi setup (most printers today can automatically locate WiFi in homes), the display screen is ridiculously tiny which makes entering information extremely difficult, it does not print reliably nor efficiently. It’s not worth the money, sorry.
