    I bought this printer in Dec 24 2022. It's now May 28,2023 and it won't even turn on. It did a beautiful job when it worked and I loved it, but now I need a new printer. Good news is the knk does last longer. I didn't even finish the ink that came with it. I was halfway though it.

    I have had another Eco printer and loved it. This one is finicky. the prints are not a lot better for 3 times the price, and it is not a fast printer. Not sure why it costs more.

    Terrible printer + zero help with customer service

    I am extremely dissatisfied with this epson printer. Since I have had it, I have had nothing but trouble with it. I am pretty tech savvy too and I can’t get this printer to work. I’m a business owner and I now have spent way too much for a printer that doesn’t do what it’s suppose to, I can’t print anything and have wasted a lot of precious time troubleshooting. I tried reaching out for technical support and got no help, I tried to ask how I can return this item but can’t because I’ve passed the return date. I’m very upset about the whole situation and have gotten no help at all. So now I’m stuck with a print that does not work. It’s now telling me to remove the whole rear just to feed a document and no longer wants to print in the actual rear feeder slot.

    I like the fact that i dont have to change ink cartridges nor do i have to add ink but once a year. This is the second printer of this type replacing one that took cartridges which had come to the end of its life ( internal ink pad was full and requires service). By the way, this 8500 has a maintenance box that replaces internal ink pad that can be changed by the user.

    This is a g great printer. I like the photos I print of my kids & grandkids. The documents print clearly. Because of the volume of ink I don't see that the tanks have gone down @ all. They say there is enough ink to last up to 2 years. I'm retired & don't print as much as when I was a school teacher/counselor/principal/superintendent so I should get the 2 years...I hope

    I ordered an Epson ET- 8550 and received this. I realize that best buy has a decent return policy, but as a Small business owner withe several printers, I just open this particular printer only to realize it is not what I ordered in December and I am now out of the return window. I basically paid the same price as The large format printer that I ordered for this 8.5 by 11 printer I have no need for. Lesson learned.

    Pro quality pictures at home

    This is a review for the Epson Eco tank Photo ET-8550 that i received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Set up was a breeze. I used my phone for the whole process. Epson App was intuitive and easy to use. I used the disk that came with the printer to set up the lap top which was also very easy to use and quick. As I said the app walks you through the set up process. First you fill the ink holders with the ink from cartridges made specifically to fit the top of the ink holder. No spill, no cartridge just enough ink to fill the holder. they practically fill themselves. I have printed out the pics that I took from 3 years ago of our london trip. I must admit the pics are amazing to me. the colors are very vivid and stand out on the paper. I also can see how much ink is left in the holders which is a cool feature. The printer is sturdy made. There are a few ways to hook up the printer: 1) wifi 2) USB 30 SD Card. I am impressed with how quiet the printer is and it doesnt shake the whole desk as it is trying to print the photo. I like the out put tray that comes out to hold the printing picture. It gives a place for the pic to dry, although the ink dries fast, and the pic is not just spit out of the machine. It takes care of the photo. There is also a rear feeder if you don't want to use tray 1. the rear feeder allows you to print bigger pictures such as 81/2x11. the touchscreen is easy to use and easy to read The printer also scans and copies well. the only drawback i found is the printing process is slow. the quality of the picture, for me, makes it worth the wait. Also with the ecco tank it would be cheaper than a cartridge printer and so far i already have gotten more pictures printed than I would with my old printer. the old printer would definately be out of ink. This printer is expensive which i would think you would make up in the money you save for ink.

    Spent a good hour with startup adding ink, loading software, setting up Wi-Fi just to get an error code. Online said factory reset. Did everything all over again and bam, same error. Shame it’s probably a great printer but was a total waste my time

    Constant paper jams

    Has never worked properly. More paper jams than actual printing from the very first time I tried to use it. Complete junk. I’ll see what warranty can do for me but I do not recommend.

    I'm hoping that it will clear once I use it some more but the prints are coming out with lines no matter what I do. I am not impressed so far.

    Software with 8500 is dangerous.

    Printer works well, but major problem with software that caused other printer to not show status and a scanner that no longer works. Both are Epson products.

    I got some very nice pictures and I was feeling good about and then I got faded and horzonal lines - so I did the things that was supposed to fix this -- but it did not. So I am not happy

    Set up was easy but when it came to print quality, it was a disaster. Normally you can go in & change print settings, adjust colors & saturation; this one had none of that. Promptly returned.
