The Epson Eco-Tank ET-8500 is a multi-function, and cartridge-free printer, it does a great job with both documents and pictures. The size of the printer is perfect, it isn't big and bulky, and fits nicely in our home office. A key feature of this printer is that it takes bottles of ink instead of cartridges. And filling the printer with ink is easy and fast, simply place the ink bottles in their correct locations, and watch the tank fill up.The bottles of ink have specialized valves that don't allow them to spill even if they tip over. You can also visually see how much ink you have left, and the bottles of ink are so much more economical than the cartridges. Set up was made very simple by using my iPhone as well as the Epson app. I was guided through the various steps via the app, which by the way are easy to follow and understand. I opted to connect my printer to my WIFI, although there are several other choices, and in no time at all I was ready to start printing. There is a lot to like with this large format printer, larger scanner, convenient color touchscreen, and a memory card slot. There are also two trays in the front of the printer, one is for 8 X 11 paper, the other is for photo paper. There is also one rear feed tray for other kinds of paper. You can also set up and operate your printer with your smartphone, it is compatible with either iOS or Android. To date the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 has been a dream to use, the print quality has been outstanding, and no paper jams. I would highly recommend this printer. After a few weeks the printer is almost unusable. It leaves gaps in printing and the colors look faded. Very disappointing.

The printer came well packaged with a lot of shipping tape to hold the printer parts in place. Setup was so easy using my Samsung Note 8 and the Epson app. The app walked you through the various steps to setup the printer. The inks basically load them selves, each ink has a different configuration and printer has a corresponding configuration. The ink bottle loads only enough to fill the color tank then stops the fill process. There are several choices to get the printer connected. Epson made the process so easy to connect to WiFi using my phone. There are two front trays, one for 8x11 paper the other for photo stock. There is one rear feed for all types of papers. After several test prints I’m impressed by the quality. This printer is a pro quality printer. The Epson ET-8550 is expensive, in this case you will get what you pay for. I hope to save money by not having to purchase replacement ink cartridges for my old printer every couple of months. I do have one concern. There is an output tray that comes out of the printer that is motor driven when a item is printing doesn't self close. I hope the motor drive holds up after thousands of uses. There is a neat led light illuminating the output trap. I prefer to close the output tray when I have finished my printing process. Excellent print quality. Buy it, you wont regret it. I bought another brand before this one, and it printed crooked and the paper was jammed so many times. I returned that one and I have not had any issues with this Epson. It's great!

Love the quality, size, and function of this printer. Really love the ink! Disappointed in the brightness of colors and have tried every setting, paper, and enhancement option to no luck. I get the feeling this printer is specifically for photos printed on glossy paper, and not so much matte paper finishes.

Just love everything about the Eco Tank 8500- the set up was fast and easy especially with the large, tilting LCD display screen that walks you right through it. I also downloaded the Epson Smart Panel app because i often print directly from my cell. I'm thrilled it's cartridge free and i won't have to buy those expensive cartridges anymore and now i can simply refill using ink bottles that make all types of my printing so much more economical. I also love being able to see the ink levels right in front on the machine. I do most of the marketing for my company and much of it is printing like brochures, flyers, mailers and promotional products that are mailed or given out directly to our clients. I absolutely loved the quality of the photos and the speed at which they were printed. I've always wanted to use quality black and white photos in some of our promotions so i tried black and white photo printing and they came out amazing... you could see the greys and midtones so sharply. I made color flyers and printed a round of mailers for our next event and the colors were just perfect. I'm excited to try printing brochures as it's supposed to take card stock. I normally have to send the templates with photos and verbiage to an outside vendor to print so i cant wait to try this type of printing next. I also like the idea of printing with less energy consumption with this heat free technology-something i never thought about until now. So far the Epson EcoTank ET-8500 has been a pleasure to use - the quality of the printing is superb and it's been very easy to use. First off, this is a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I had an old printer that was constantly going through ink and never really seemed to print well, even on just plain paper. I am somewhat biased against ink printer but this Epson ET-8550 has been a great printer. The print quality is superb for regular prints on standard paper but it really performs best when printing photos. I was amazed by the quality of printed photos coming from this home printer! You have to get the right photo paper but other than that you can be printing photos as good as Office Depot or Staples. Scanning and copying is simple and seamless and the image quality on scans are crystal clear. The setup was a bit confusing to get it paired with my computer but your experience might be better if you are technology savvy. One tip from my experience is to use the included disc and download the printer drivers after connecting it to your network. The rest of the install was a breeze and filling up the ink tanks was so simple. I really like the visual indicator so I can know when to order more ink. I have been printing daily for a couple weeks now and I don’t feel like I will have to constantly fill it because it uses the ink efficiently. It also is really compact and fits well on my desk. Overall, I am very satisfied with my new Epson printer and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new printer or would just like to upgrade.

This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I can't say enough about this printer and how far along Epson brand has become. While printers may be on the inexpensive side, ink cost alone will eat you alive it seems! This printer has the ability to cut that cost by more than half! Im incredibly impressed by the fact that I can refill my ink without having to replace ALL the ink at once. But before I get into that, let's look at the printer as a whole. It's sleek, sophisticated, not that heavy, and looks great in any home office. Set up took no more than 5 min or so from start to finish. Both my windows computer and android phone found the device instantly. I was ready to print in no time. From regular paper to different sized photos, I was very happy with the quality. Photos were vivid and bright without consuming much ink. Fonts in black ink were true black without any gray fading which some ink jets can fall victim to. Print time took seconds for word documents and slightly longer for photos by maybe 30-45 seconds give or take depending on the size (obviously it'll print a 4x7 faster than an larger photos). All in all I'm beyond estatic to review and try this printer. It exceeded many of my overall concerns I've had from other brands. The biggest take away is not having to spend an arm and a leg on ink and no annoying subscription on top of that. I highly recommend the Epson EcoTank

great product for printing pictures I've used 2 other EcoTank printers (ET3600, ET4750), and have come to expect a minimum level of happiness with these. I must say that ET-8500 lives up to that :-). The set-up was a breeze. I really liked the chatbot feature to guide thru the set-up. The touch screen is nice sized (I called out the small touch screen on ET4750). The overall look and feel of the product is great. The wireless connectivity options is extremely useful when you want to print from a variety of devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops). One feature that I missed a lot was the ADF (on ET4750). When I need to scan, it's almost always multiple pages, and it's a pain to do it manually. Coming to print quality, this one does a great job, both on plain paper and photo paper. Heck, I'm starting to think about setting up a passport photo shop :-) My kids print a lot of art and craft material, and with vacation upon us, our ET-8500 will prove to be a great way to keep them engaged. I received my Epson - EcoTank Photo ET-8550 All-in-One Wide-format Supertank Printer last week. It took me about ten mins to unbox and find links to install software . It was super east to set up following the included instructions . I am tech savvy and had zero issues with setup . It took a total of 30 mins from box to first print . I really like the style and design of the printer . It is big but not bulky and fits nicely in my office . I have used it to print simple documents , scan designs and photos . My favorite use has been printing photos to complete my portfolio for work related items . It is fast , efficient and very close to lab quality photos . I can see myself using this printer daily because of the ease of operation. I love saving money on ink because of the EcoTank I spend way less and I am excited to see my savings in a year . I love this printer. It is easy to use, quiet, and effecient.

So far, owned for 1 month but utilized quite a bit, am pleased with this printer, especially when printing photos. Only downside was Best Buys shipping. In this day of porch pirates, they didn't place it in a plain brown shipping box, just sent it in the Epson brightly covered box. It arrived while at work and fortunately a neighbor grabbed it and held onto it until we got home. They need to take a few minutes and think this out better.

I recently purchased the Epson EcoTank® Photo ET-8500 Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and features. As someone who prints a lot of photos and documents, I was looking for a printer that could produce high-quality prints without constantly running out of ink, and the ET-8500 has exceeded my expectations.

Pricey but I wanted high quality photos and that is what I got. I have had this printer less than a month and so far it is excellent. Very quiet and fast copying in a much smaller case. No more expensive cartridges!!!

This is a high quality printer. It does really great on printing pictures.

I love my new printer! With what I do it does take awhile to print all the color but it works beautifully.

Upfront moderate cost of unit is worth it due to $$ savings on ink vs my previous Epson XP-7100 printer, but miss document feeder. Set up was easy and unit is sufficiently compact. Photo printing is very good, but perhaps a little darker. I haven't yet checked to see if I can adjust this. Very satisfied with the purchase thus far.

have not used it enough to have an opinion except that the few photos we printed were no better than those fron a cheap canaon printer
