If you do, you will not own it, Epson owns it. I just installed the new update software from Epson and now my printer won't work AT ALL. I am reminded that my printer ink is not Epson and thus won't print or copy. Epson ink is the only brand that allows printing. So, I can't and you won't be able to use your printer if you replace the printer's ink with a brand other than Epson. EPSON OWNS YOUR PRINTER. In addition, when the printer worked --- with Epson ink, I thought the print quality was poor, it was dull, not sharp. I can live with poor quality, but a defiant printer, I will not tolerate. In another review I found this response from Epson, "Your Expression Home XP-4100 printer was designed to work only with genuine Epson ink cartridges, therefore some updates may affect the functionality of third-party ink. " GOOD BYE EPSON PRODUCTS.

Difficult to program.

It's difficult to program and hook up to wifi. Tech help took a lengthy amount of time to help me get it working and when I went to use later once agsin it would not print.

It's really nice, except it goes thru black ink quickly and doesn't which over to color after that to make black!!! You have to buy a new cartridge! Very upsetting.

Even when you are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged, preventing air bubbles from entering and damaging the print head.
