    This printer provids actually "Superior" quality copies as well as scans! While it took a little time for it to connect to our Wi-Fi, I was able to accomplish the setup with ease right afterwards. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the choice and would recommend this Epson model for every low to medium use household.

    Horrible Ink Cartridge Life

    When I purchased the printer I was advised by the store to buy an extra set of ink cartridges because the ones supplied with the printer had very little ink, so I also purchased a set of standard cartridges. During setup I went ahead and installed the std cartridges I purchased, and roughly 15 pages later I got warnings of low ink. These were pdf docs, not images, and only a couple were done in higher resolution.. To top it off, I figured I could use the cartridges that came with the printer to get me by until I could get to the store. Wrong...after install, the printer indicates it's already been setup and I cannot use these cartridges because they are initial or install cartridges. I've always been a big fan of Epson printers (this the 3rd one I've owned over many years), but really dissatisfied with the ink cartridges, so most likely will move away from Epson on my next printer and will not recommend this printer to anyone.

    Printer does not work

    I had this item delivered to my mother and it does not work. The ink was replaced by a neighbor and it still did not work. I didnt have time to drive down to pick it up within the return date so we have a non functional printer. I would not recommend this item

    Should Literally Be a CRIME to sell this product

    The Epson 4100 Expression Home Series Printers is the ABSOLUTE WORST piece of technology I have EVER purchased in my entire life!!!! It’s so bad and insidious I’m uninstalling it and literally THROWING it in the dumpster and I just purchased it new from Walmart about 5 months ago. First off, it’s a complete rip-off by forcing you to buy copious number of black ink cartridges which only last less than 25 copies. In fact, if you connect to the network, you might receive a mysterious transmission that will print multiple pages just to burn up your black ink. I did receive such transmission from somewhere. I wonder from WHO??? Afterwards, I ran out of black ink and the software DOES NOT allow you to do any printing until you replace the BLACK cartridge. Second, the network connection is the most cumbersome, complicated, outright EVIL piece of programming and setup I’ve EVER experienced. Totally frustrating and poorly designed installation procedure. And if you are successful in finally getting it setup, it only connects and works 10% of the time!!!!!! So poor that I had to go and purchase a printer cable just to get it to print!!!! And last but certainly not least, the scanner capability is outright JUNK!!!. They force you to download 2 applications: Scan 2 and something called EPSON Smart Scan. BOTH of which are COMPLETE disasters!!! To scan a single page takes 10 minutes using a cable!!!!! And then it comes out with POOR resolution Selling this product to the general public should literally constitute a crime! I’m serious! Uninstalling ALL of the spyware that comes with it and that’s designed to collect your personal information under the guise of checking for updates and making the product better. EVIL. And, as stated earlier, throwing in the garbage as soon as I complete this review. I wouldn’t dare do anyone the injustice of even giving it away much less selling it for salvage. I have absolutely NO plans to ever purchase an Epson product again and I would encourage everyone to make the same plan.

    Printer is compact and prints well for the price. Main deficiency is lack of scan to thumb drive. Lack of touch screen on main display panel takes some getting used to and is a bit awkward if it is sitting on a low shelf or table

    Printer made me waste money

    Bought my mom this printer earlier this year and it worked fine up until about a month ago. It so frequently lost connection to the computer that she had to give up and get a printer cable to connect to it. Then shortly after that, maybe a few days, it got it in its little printer brain that this nearly 100 page long legal document needed to be printed repeatedly even without her prompting it to. It basically went on a printing frenzy. In the last two weeks of her having it, she spent over $200 to keep refilling the ink because no matter what this printer wouldn't take no for an answer when we told it to stop printing. She ended up just getting rid of it and getting something else.

    Easy setup... instantly able to print over wifi

    I was concerned at first that the WiFi printing would be troublesome to setup. That wasn’t the case. Every device has instantly found and been able to print. Including iPhone, iPad, and Lenovo laptop.

    Not a bad little printer BUT!

    Not bad for a $50 Printer. But here's the problem. the ink runs out quickly. Epson wants to sell you ink for more than what Channel No5 sells for. The replacement ink is more costly than the printer. Thank God gasoline and cars are not the same. When these Printers run out of ink I WILL NOT BUY YOUR INK. instead I'll buy another cheap $50 printer more than likely the next will be anything but epson, and Toss the perfectly functioning out of ink printer in The trash. Enjoy blowing it up..Literally They have re engineered the ink cartridges so they will not be recognised or refilled so unless you buy THEIR cartridges

    I have owned two Epson printers not, an XP430 and the one with ecotanks. ONe problem with both: every time, I have to remember how in the heck you print with this machine. What kind of a menu design is this?? Printing is obviously the MOST common operation one uses a printer for, for crying out loud. Plus the screen on the ecotank is teeny weeny. I will not be buying another Epson.

    Worse Printer I've Used in 30 years - IT Guy

    Horrible Printer. DO NOT BUY! Where to begin 1) When you install new ink, it reads the ink levels at 60% from the beginning, before even printing. 2) When you install new ink, it prints numerous test pages using the ink you just bought and lowering it 3) When you print "Black and White" the printer prints in "Gray Scale" which uses colored ink. 4) If you run out of colored ink you cannot print Black and White 5) If you run out of black ink it continues to print using colored ink 6) No matter how many times you change the default settings it changes it to use colored ink 7) The Epson software is annoying and has pop-ups 8) When you "Cancel" or "delete" a printing job, it still prints. 9) Sometimes you hit print 1 and it prints 3 10) The scanner is horrible, no matter how much you change the settings. I can max the DPI and choose "document" or "photo" and they still are horrible. 11) The scanner is as slow as the scanners I had in 1996 Over-all this is the worse printer I have ever purchased and used in my 30 years of using Printers. Stay far away from this thing. This printer isn't "sold out" it's not being produced anymore because it's garbage. I am going to stick it full of tannerite and get use out of it that way, then put it in a bond fire for warmth.

    Not worth the price. Get a canon instead.

    The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because in case of an emergency it comes in handy. But to use on an every day basis absolutely not! It takes about 10-12 minutes to print out 5 pages!! For this price It is not worth it. I bought a canon like 10 years ago that was the same price and printed way faster. Also I can only print like 12 pages before it starts saying the ink is low. Do not recommend.
