But the hidden cost comes in the ink used. The ink runs out too fast. The product page says that the in-pack cartridge "Provide up to 150-page yield in black". Mine got finished even before reaching 50 pages. That is horrible. My suggestion to readers: Please research on the type of ink and read the reviews on them before purchasing. This one is not cost effective for long run P.S. I am returning mine.

It set up to our internet quickly and worked perfectly. Within 2 weeks, the ink was running low?! I had only printed 10 pages...and then there were a few times where the printer wouldn't connect to our internet for a few days (the wifi was working perfectly with computers, phones, and tvs.) Recently, the ink was running low as well, but still said it was able to print. I tried printing, and it would not let me. I added a new black cartridge, still no printing. It said I had to replace the other colors (EVEN THOUGH THE PRINTER SAID IT WAS STILL ABLE TO PRINT.) So lets see, the printer prints 10 pages, runs low on ink. Then it wants you to buy the very expensive ink (don't buy the off brand, they don't work :)) just so it can run out in a couple weeks time. This printer is a money eater, DO NOT BUY.

Additionally, Epson provides a FAQ at www.epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CG33201~faq-00007e5-xp4100_4105 on how to print temporarily with black ink when a color ink cartridge has been expended.
