I do alot of printing for my children on a daily basis because we are a homeschool family. I absolutely love the convenience of having this Epson Expression Home Xp printer because it has a fast print rate for pur busy schedules. This printer is very easy to set up and work. The insgructions are comprehensive and make setup a breeze. This printer is lightweight and easily fits on my desk without being in the way. Scanning documents for print or to save is done quickly and effectively with this epson. It prints vivid and bright colors perfectly without any misses in the ink print. The ink is dry to touch as soon as the paper comes out. The LCD screen is easy to manuever through and find what i need. I love that i can print two sided papers for my childrens schoolwork with this printer, it helps me to save on paper. I usually print directly from my android galaxy phone or galaxy tab and have had no issues with connectivity. Overall, I love hoe quickly i can print schoolwork for my children, how the print is vibrant colors and not dull, and that i can do a two sided print when needed.

It didn't work. The printer would connect with my Wifi but would not connect to my laptop. Worked on it for most of one day even contacted two Epson technical people in India without success. Returned it to Best Buy and came home with a HP printer. Within minutes after installing the HP, we were getting good results.

Cheaply made, ink cartridges run out quickly. Constantly, need replacing after just a few print jobs. Printer will not print if one cartridge is empty, even in black and white. So if you are out of Cyan... and need to print in B&W you can't - not until the you replace the color cartridge.

Excellent brand BUT, terrible model. All wifi/mobile connection is a nightmare & total lie of "Easy Setup". NO external cord to connect to my Lenovo P500 laptop or Newer Lenovo laptop. So, stuck with a WORTHLESS printer & a 4yr protection plan that is meaningless. My fault for not reading the descriptions carefully.

No option for 0 stars. Ink doesn’t last and prints are terrible. But at least it is really slow and hard to use. This is a throw away printer. Please look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

The Epson Expression XP-4200 All in One printer is a good choice for an everyday printer. Setup is quick and easy using the Epson Smart Panel app. For me, the most difficult part was opening the included print cartridges. Each is sealed separately. There are 4 cartridges - black, cyan, magenta & yellow. Epson documentation stresses the importance of using genuine Epson ink cartridges. Evidently, third party cartridges may not work. Interestingly, when opening the top to insert the ink cartridges, you have to make sure the “bracket” is in place to hold the scanner open. This is somewhat like the bar you insert in the hole to hold your automobile’s hood open, but you don't have to insert this - it is built in. I’ve never seen that before. Because of this, when you lift the scanner it doesn’t open very far, so not a lot of light is allowed inside. I found this to be inconvenient when attempting to insert the ink cartridges. Also to close the scanner, you have to lift it up then let it down until it stops then lift it up again and lower it the rest of the way. This printer doesn't have a normal paper tray. There is a rear feed slot to put what seems liked maybe 20 maximum sheets of blank paper. I found that I had to add paper often. When printing, the paper feeds from the back and prints out the front. Conveniently, you are able to print 2 sided if you choose which saves paper. This printer does not have an auto sheet-feeder for copying, so it's one sheet at a time. Copying is relatively quick and the quality is good. Printing is fairly quick for both text and photos. I found the quality of printed text to be good. I don't have photo paper on hand, but I did have the occasion to print photos on 8-1/2x11 plain paper. I printed it on "best" quality and it looks really nice with good detail. I was extremely surprised. Back to the The Epson Smart Panel app. Not only does it help with setup, it also gives up to date info on the printer such as ink levels, status, you can customize the display font and more. When printing photos, this app allows you to adjust many settings including paper size, type of paper, numerous layout choices, you can include the print date and more. There are a lot of things that can be done within the app including creatively. It is definitely worth checking out. It's quite impressive. So my feelings on this printer were mixed. The 2.4" display is color but it is not a touch screen; the lack of a large paper tray is inconvenient; and that bracket to hold up the scanner. However, the setup is super easy; the print quality is very good; the Epson Smart Panel app is so useful; the print speed is good; and it has a small footprint. So much good here! For me, this Epson Expression XP-4200 All in One is a keeper.
