A Full-Featured Household Wireless Printer

The Epson Expression XP-5200 AIO Printer has proven to be the perfect replacement for my older printer as a family household printer. As a multi-function Wi-Fi printer with copier, scanner, color, and wireless access, it is now the general-purpose printer for my household.
Unboxing and Setup
The unboxing and setup went smoothly. The included instructions were good for getting the printer unpacked, powered on, aligned, and tested. But I had to figure out how to get the printer connected to our Wi-Fi and connectable to our home wireless devices. The setup options via the built-in display were easy to follow. Entering a complex Wi-Fi password can be a bit of a pain. The print head alignment setting required manually entering how the alignment graphics appeared on four printed pages. Once Wi-Fi was configured, the printer requested a firmware update, which only took a few minutes. After the printer was configured, nothing special was needed on our iOS-based smart devices to print. I also installed the Epson Smart Panel app onto my iPhone via a QR code after the Wi-Fi was configured.
Epson Smart Panel App
The App is available for Android and iOS devices. It provides printer monitoring, maintenance, documentation, registration, configuration for printing via remote email, and a wide range of printing options. It is not required for printing from smart devices.
Print, Photo, and Scanner Quality
Document print quality is clear and crisp, without any smudging or visually perceivable pixelation. The 2-sided printing option is great for saving paper. I was blown away by the quality of picture printing onto glossy photo paper. There is absolutely no hint of printhead lines, the colors are bright, and the resolution is crisp. When scanning a document, the quality of the copy is just as clear and crisp as the original. The copy comes out slightly darker than the original, which I expect is Epson's way of compensating for the bright light used for scanning.
Summary
For the reasonable price and the range of features, the Epson Expression XP-5200 is the perfect wireless printer for my household. It is easy to set up, use, and replace the ink cartridges. Every family member can print, regardless of their computer, smartphone, or tablet.

I recently purchased this printer and couldn’t be happier! The photo quality is absolutely stunning—vibrant colors, sharp details, and true-to-life results that rival professional prints. Whether it’s family photos or creative projects, every image looks breathtaking.
What truly sets this printer apart is its ease of use. Setting it up was a breeze, and the intuitive interface makes printing or scanning effortless. The mobile app integration is a game-changer: I can scan documents directly from my phone or print photos wirelessly in seconds—no complicated steps or cables required. It’s perfect for someone who values convenience without sacrificing quality.
If you’re looking for a reliable, user-friendly printer that delivers professional-grade photos and seamless smartphone connectivity, this is it. Highly recommend for both casual users and photography enthusiasts! A+ purchase!

I had an older model Epson printer that started having issues. I bought the 5200 at the advice of my daughter. I like the fact that it prints double sided and is faster than the old XP 410 model. Ink cost is a little more than the old one but wasn’t a deal breaker. It was fairly easy to set up. It is a little larger than the old one but still fits on my desk where the old one was. I wish the tray was designed a little differently but realized it is the way it is because of pulling the paper back to do the back side of double prints. I like the drawer tray for paper.

This printer is perfect for my classroom! I printed a "stations" activity for my kids in color and when I showed a coworker, they asked, "Did you print this in the main office." When I said, "Nope, in my room on my new printer," she responded in amazement. The quality is excellent all around. I will note that it works better with higher-quality paper, like any printer would. It was fairly simple to set up, but still took about 30-40 minutes to get fully connected to the internet and also register the warranty.

Incredible printer for the price! Setup was lengthy, but surprisingly easy. The ink cartridges are easy to install, but the ones included don't go a long way, and this specific kind of cartridge is somewhat difficult to find. Otherwise great quality printing, especially for a home office!

Got the xp5200. The setup was almost foolproof. Paper instructions led you to the phone app, which set the whole thing up including wifi connection and test printing. Paper instructions then directed you to get the PC software which then easily installed the device. The print quality is better than my old inkjet that died. The print from anywhere works and is very helpful. Overall for the price wow this is a bargain.

I bought This Epson printer because it works with the latest iMac OS. I am a confirmed Epson user because their printers do the talk asked of it, whether printing or copying. I have used Epson printers that used to have direct to DVD label printingand loved it. However that printer is an older model model that does not work with the latest iMac OS. The print quality is great,, the owners manual is very easy to understand which makes for easy setup. The inks are easily available and of the highest quality. This printer can be set up to print photos from a cell phone. I have not done this yet.I just wish it had a SD slot for direct card SD card printing

This is the first time that I have owned an Epson printer. I decided to switch from HP to Epson and the Epson was on sale. It is a good value, because it works well and it is compact and fits well into my tight space. I have used copying and printing, but not yet scanning. I find it tricky to figure out how to do many functions, and the screen, even when you prompt help, is not always so helpful, so I need to go online to find youtubes to figure out how to remove ink cassettes and initialize them when I put in new ink cassettes. It takes many steps to get copying done, although printing is more straightforward. Otherwise a good printer. I hope it lasts awhile.

The XP-5200 printer from Epson doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but it still does everything one needs for home use, or light home-office use: print in color or black, white–one- or two-sided – including wireless printing; copy; and scan. It is a teensy bit noisy, but not to the point of it being a bother, and the cost of the ink refills is reasonable.
The printer was simple to set up and get started using – even the wireless printing setup was a breeze. I highly recommend this printer.

Item was quick and easy to set-up. My only complaints is it only came with enough ink for initial set-up. I feel this should have been disclosed, maybe i missed it. Other that so far so good.

I very happy with my Epson. I had another Epson that was close to 15 yrs old, if not more, so I wanted to stay with that brand. It was easy to set up and easy to use. It is also quiet after I found the "quiet" setting. I don't use my printer a lot, but I do use the scanner, printer and copier. It is also a lot smaller than my old one.
