Very efficient scanner for documents & photos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty expensive high-powered piece of equipment focused solely on giving you fast accurate scans. The scanner is substantial and well built, setup and installation is easy. You can direct-connect with USB or use the built-in wi-fi. Both work well. It has a small footprint on the desk, and the top folds down as a dust cover when not in use, a pretty neat trick. We use it for office documents as well as photos. As a small-office scanner (we have other flatbed & all-in-one scanners) it is VERY fast, scans both sides accurately, sends the output file almost anywhere you want; local disk, Dropbox, email, Evernote, etc. Very simple yet flexible user interface on both scanner and software. It's very easy to get rid of all the clutter in the office with this thing, it's so fast & easy to use. Quick adjustment takes regular paper, small pieces, receipts, business cards, etc. equally well. A bit of a luxury for documents only, but 5 stars for this use even accounting for the high price. It's a pleasure to use. As a photo scanner, also very fast, scanning both sides if it detects writing/notes on the back sides, very helpful. Will scan to a lossless file "as-is" and also make an enhanced version at the same time. You can control the kind of enhancements used and view the scans together to see which one you prefer. We found, on well-exposed excellent-condition photos (4" x 6" color glossy), that we preferred the originals maybe 75% of the time, the enhanced version 25%. It seems to do better the worse the source photo is. For some reason the dark black areas, perfect on the originals, seem to have a little noise even on the lossless "as is" scans. We're still checking that out, it's not dust. So it gets 4 stars for the photo scanning. Overall it's worth it if you have a lot of misc items you need to organize fast, and photos needing digitizing and organizing. It's the best I've ever used (after dozens) at doing both in one device. I'm sure I'll like it even more as I get used to it and all the features...

I purchased the right scanner for my job.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding piece of hardware that has saved me time. I need something that could withstand the test of thousands of scans and keep on trucking. If you have thousands and thousands of family photos to scan in and archive and/or share, this is your beast.

Super fast way to scan photos
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had boxes of photos from ancestors and of our own making that we needed to store. This scanner makes very short work if a daunting project. We didn’t see how to scan directly to storage at first and spent more time transferring from the FastFoto storage than we needed to. Look at the settings tab to store pics directly to external or internal computer memory. The picture are usually cleaned up esp from yellowed Kodachrome pics. We’ve been more than happy

Superfast photo scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As most my age, we had boxes of old photos. We even had all of my Father-In-Law's WWII photos from his service in the Phillipines. I worried a disaster could destroy a lifetime of memories. This scanner blows through photos fast. Even at 1200 DPI. The software also does a nice job of correcting colors. Everything is scanned and backed up. Backup drive is kept in a fire safe. Very pleased. I highly recommend anyone with piles of photos do the same.

Excellent performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FF680W I've scanned about 5,000 photos in the last week or so. Color correction is great. One jam due to crumpled corner of photo. A few other jams due to mixing sizes such that smaller photo not lining up with leading edge of bigger photos. Either scan same size, or line up leading edges. Really good, consistent results.

This is my latest indispensable piece of equipment
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The more I use my FF-680W the more I like it. My latest thing is to convert monthly financial reports I receive to pdf files, which take up no physical space, but which are immediately available if I need to review old reports. The scanning is very rapid and once a report has been scanned, I can get rid of the hard copy, which takes up considerable space. The Epson Technical Support is also excellent and was invaluable helping me initially set up the FF-680W.

Finally getting my photos scanned!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been trying for years to digitize our family photos. Something about the reviews of this scanner drew me in and I splurged and purchased it. It connected easily to my computer and I was off scanning boxes upon boxes of photos. The quality of the scans is excellent and I have yet to have to change how it edits the old photos. Rather than being a burden, I am actually having fun!

Not A Question
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I literally fretted about digitizing the zillion pictures, kids homework, important documents and such. I had the older model with the 600 dpi and felt I wanted the additional dpi this model offered. It is so effortless to scan many pictures that re-digitizing the previous scans is absolutely a breeze. This is a magical machine that does its work with high quality but it also delivers peace of mind...I can't say that about many machines.

limited capabilities once scanned, but scans quick
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scanner does everything it says it can do. I would have given 5 stars if the program was more interactive and compatible with more photo editing tools/programs. Not much different from scanning with a regular all in one printer/scaner. The PDF files were better than the jpeg. scanned really fast just as stated in the description. I do not have a drop box account, so I am nor sure of the editing capabilities once in there. I do not like that all the pictures are stored in the scanner app which makes it difficult to search and utilize the pictures.

Great Scanner
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the best purchase I have made to scan and store the hard copies of my photos. I’ve already scanned more than 10,000 photos with this scanner and it still works perfectly. Scans about 50 photos in approx 5 min. depending on the resolution that you scan them in.
