If you have a large collection of photos & are looking to save them digitally, this can save you hundreds of dollars over sending to a like service. Yeah, you spend 500 bucks, but I was quoted over a grand with LegacyBox. So, it made more cent$ :-).

This is so awkward, and of course something you only find out about after you purchase this. I would NOT RECOMMEND this scanner. It works nicely, connects easily, and scans quickly. BUT once scanned, the photo that was scanned is NOT really yours. you HAVE NO permission to change it, edit it, or do anything with it. There are multiple forums that discuss this, try and provide ways around it but in the end, when you scan hundreds or thousands of photos having to right-click on each one, change the permissions one by one, then save as a different name at that moment in a different folder is about the MOST ANNOYING thing ever. EPSON IS TRASH because they won't admit it's an issue, won't fix it and until then I would say STAY AWAY FROM EPSON.

I have so many boxes of pictures. I no longer have the room to store them. This scanner is saving me a lot of time putting the pictures onto my computer so that I can dispose of the physical copies. The Epson FF 680W Scanner is easy to set up and to use. I highly recommend it.

Works as described. Like the bulk feed. I am amazed with how the colors in old photos is restored. I have learned to use the file label software. An expensive product but compared to the agony of single feed scan is well worth th sale price

Works well with most pictures. The only issue I had was trying to scan old polaroid pictures; they wanted to get caught in the scanner. At 300 dpi the scanner made quick work of old family photos.

I debated getting this because it is pretty expensive compared to flat bed scanners, but now that I've used it I'm glad I bought it. The feeder lets you scan 30 photos in the time it would take to scan just 1 or 2 in a flatbed. And I'm talking about scanning at max quality in TIFF format.

I was hesitating to buy this since it’s not too cheap, but it’s an amazing scanner and I have no regrets. It works perfectly as document scanner with my acrobat pro in addition to the photo scanning.
