Software Sucks
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The scanner is nice & fast but the software is not great! If you try to add additional pictures into the file name that already exists & has pictures, it will wipe out those pictures!!! So dumb! The scanning is super fast so I could recommend it for that, but not for the photo software.

Not Wireless, Quality Just OK, Great Ease of Use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not sure how well the unit works beyond, 100 to 200 pictures which are just OK as I expected before I bought it, because i needed the wireless I thought I bought. I am sure there is a way to hook it up but I expected it would be like our three iPads, three Samsung TVs, and two printers, two Apple TVs, one computer, eg 15 minutes each all set to go except in the case of one Samsung, I had my password problem, clearly my fault. As of now I get a message that I don’t have a special kind or type of connection that doesn’t exist on my 10 year or my one year old computers. I just don’t want to take the hours required to fix, which I am sure I can.

Wait for the upgraded model
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I loved this and it was a must have. Then, it started getting error messages on a regular basis; and I need to reboot the computer application, as well as the device itself, in order to clear the error.

High priced Average Joe.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a nice printer but not worth the cost. I also found the software to be very different between Windows and Mac. With the software for Mac being primitive. It does scan fast if you have it on a low resolution. I found that smaller pictures got stuck often.

Great for fast photo scanning
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great for stacks of photos. Only negative I found was making sure all the photos were the same size during scanning, Otherwise they would tilt slightly when pulling through the scanner.

It kept erroring out.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return this because it kept getting errors. If I did one picture at a time, then it was fine. I was trying to do multiple pictures. Most the time it would seem like it was taking the pictures and then all of a sudden I would get an error. If I wanted to do one picture at a time, I would’ve gotten a flatbed scanner at a much higher dpi. I returned it. I am looking for something better.

Great Scanner, No Complaints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's not much to say, except it does what it's supposed to do... well and quickly. Documents: The OCR works well and if you're not picky about the naming convention, you can probably save a lot of time by letting it name the documents for you. I am super picky, but I did appreciate it finding the date to add to the document name. Photos: I've only scanned a few photos to test, but so far so good. Pleased with the resolution, etc. Software: What it comes with does the trick. Nothing super nice or fancy, but no complaints so far.

AMAZING QUALITY AND SUPER FAST!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always loved the idea of scanning all the old photos into the cloud for permanent and safe archival. However, the idea of using a flatbed scanner to do photos just a few at a time sounded more like a JOB than "a good thing to do". Well, I toyed with buying this for more than a year and finally pulled the trigger. I wish I had SOONER. Also, one of the BIGGEST surprises I hadn't anticipated was how it restored the lighting on photos with bad exposure. There was a few photos from my childhood that the automatic corrections just BLEW me away!

Great scanner just not for photos
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally got this for a photo scanner but it didn't meet my standards. It does well as a regular scanner but not as advertised as a photo scanner.

Scanning the Past
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would consider myself a “scanning enthusiast,” especially after taking the past few years to scan all of my family’s older photos and documents. Scanning the pictures from the 70s to the present was going to be a daunting task that I put off until I got the Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless High-speed Scanner System. The decades of memories, and years of work that it would have taken to scan each individual picture, was digitized in less than afternoon. This scanner is just completely amazing and blows every other scanner out of the water. Not only can it scan an entire packet of pictures in less than 30 seconds, it also scans the back, and enhances the photo to correct red eye, brightness, and restore color in faded photos. Any scanner that I’ve ever used has been so gigantic and bulky. They take over most of my work area and, when not in use, have to be stored elsewhere. One of the most wonderful things about the Epson FF-680W is how compact it is and is able to essentially fold up in itself. It only takes up about 1/3 of the space of a traditional scanner and doesn’t have to be tethered to your device. It also doesn’t push the document through the gears of the machine to scan an image; so if a jam does occur, you simply release the tray to gather your document and try again, without having to pull on the jam only making things worse. This is a review for the Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless High-speed Photo and Document Scanner System that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

On the fence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still on the fence on this. I think with a hand full of scans I have a streak, which I read is a dirty spot on the spool. Haven't figured out how to clean. I made sure all my photos were wiped down, and still got dirty. It's great for quickly scanning photos. I also like able using the auto-fix. I scan a batch three times - for TIF format, for JPG, and then for lower JPG with auto-fix to put on Dropbox. :) Sounds like a lot, but at least it works quickly once you get past the TIFF saving.
