Disappointing quality - scans look very noisy and grainy and when I reported this to Epson support they had me delete some config file and let it rebuild when starting the scanner again. This exercise did NOTHING to fix the issue and theywasted my time. SO I wrote again and told them I needed a real response and no more wastful suggestions and that is when i was told how the scanner is built to capture in JPG then it converts to TIF - and the noise I am experiencing is the highly compressed JPG processing. The unit is built for speed and NOT for quality. Epson said they will initiate a full refund if I wish - and I may do this if they cannot offer a firmware update to address the noise in the dark area of pictures. I asked them for a recommendation for a replacement but they have not responded..

Incredible photo scanner, can be fast with settings changes to 300 dpi or less. 600dpi is slower. Would be 5 star but they havent fixed the usb issue with windows 10 and windows 11 in over 5 years. Their support even is like "do wifi" so u have to resort to wifi and you can't change wifis unless u reinstall.

Works very well for 3x5 and 5x7 prints that need to be digitized, much faster than flat bed scanner

If you are like me and still have a ton of old photos all over your home but worry about them being ruined due to age and other issues this is perfect for you. I was able to get all of my old photos scanned in record time. Nice software touches let you “fix” the look of some of the more ages pictures in your collection so that’s nice. This also is a great document scanner but I didn’t have a chance to use it for that extensively at this time.

The FastFoto was super easy to use. I loved that it scans the front and back of the picture at the same time. I wish the photo resolution was better, but it was good enough for my purposes.

I was a bit disappointed in the Epson scanner. I got out several photos that are 30+ years old and started scanning. The outcome was not as good as I had hoped. I followed all the directions, set up was very easy, no issues there. But the final outcome of the pictures I scanned are just not that good. They look worse than the pics I scanned. maybe that's as good as I can expect, I don't know. I have another brand all in one that gives clear crisp scans of photos, so perhaps I need to dive deeper into the settings. But me first impression is not all that good. I have also scanned documents and those seem to be much better, I will use this to scan more documents than photos, but my hopes were fairly high for this scanner. The one thing that I noticed that impressed was how fast this scans, I mean fast, it rips through the scans at lightning speed. If I can get better scans in the future I will update this review, but for now, not so great, average at best.

Great scanner does everyday photos just fine and very quick. Will not do older thick photos, slides or negatives.

Avoid this scanner if you value your photos. It irreparably damages them by leaving large scratches on each and every photo. We purchased directly from Epson and are on our THIRD replacement, which does the same thing. They refuse to process a refund, so we are stuck in their customer service nightmare. The latest two they sent have terrible sensor issues that make the scans unusable. Epson does not stand behind their products and there is a reason they are marking this down in price- they know there are serious issues with it and are just hoping people won't notice. Headaches await you if you purchase this model.

This was a gift to my wife for Christmas and she could not be more pleased! Now we will finally be able to log our past travel, pictures of our grandchildren, our pets and family traditions!

Don't waste your time. The first one worked for about 100 photos. Second one didn't even work out of the box. I called Epson and they said the units had defective rollers and would replace it for me in 5-7 days if I gave them my credit card information. Really annoying, they don't trust me to send back their defective unit and I don't trust them to manufacture a product that functions.

Wouldn’t connect to 5g Wi-Fi and didn’t work well with windows 11 so I returned it

The heat warped the old photos and made them stick together.

I just bought a new computer with windows 10. Purchases this new scanner and it would not work. I called Espon and after 2 hours of them trying to get it to work I was told it was an issue with Microsoft Windows 10 and that I needed to contact Microsoft. I returned the scanner.

Doesn’t work, connection issues. USB connection shows scanner as available but when scan button is pushed the error is scanner not found. Internet connection requires significant tech support each time you move it to a different location.

It did not work with my computer I will get something at best buy later
