There are a lot of stories on social media that promote using your phone for digitizing photos and they do work, but if you are organizing a ton of old photos, you will be there for ever. This scanner is pretty fast compared. It work fairly well with most photos, although if you have some with old tape on them it sometimes has a hard time, but that is rare. I would defiantly recommend it if you have a lot of photos to scan.

This scanner is great for archiving documents and freeing up file drawer space. The OCR software is the best I've used. The photo scanner is also very fast and surprisingly sharp. The duplex capability is a definite plus. I won't be getting rid of my flatbed scanner, but this has quickly taken over as my primary. The only problem I've seen is that it occasionally flips a scan and I have to stop and rotate the image. I've only had it 6 weeks, but it has made a tremendous impact in my workflow.

I've been using this photo scanner for the last couple of months and it has performed exactly as advertised. I've scanned approximately 6,500 family photos from over the last 100+ years along with a large quantity of letters written and sent home by family during WWII. Nothing has been damaged, although I did use the "carrier sheet" to protect some of them; better safe than sorry. It scans large quantities of photos quickly and the quality of the scans is impressive. I've found the 'auto color adjustment' feature to be a benefit. The FastFoto software applies automatic sequential numbering of the photos using whatever file name you supply, which has been great. There is a reminder that pops up after every so many scans that reminds you to clean the scanner - that entails nothing more than 20 seconds of using the supplied cloth to wipe down the two components that actually do the scanning; any residue or dust will show up in the scans. Ultimately, I was a little unsure if this device was worth the price. I've found that it is well worth it. I am using a MacBook and have hooked the scanner up via USB. It has wireless capability, but I've found the wired approach to be very reliable and faster. Overall - I am really pleased with this scanner.

This scanner is fantastic! It made scanning hundreds of photographs in time for a funeral a breeze. It alleviated the stress of scanning one by one. Everyone was so happy and I plan to use it a lot in the future. Those old photos are fading and just sitting in a box - time to scan! The only reason for 4 stars is that it is very pricey.

Fast and easy to use along with setting it up on my Apple desktop was simple. Did over 8000 photo's in no time the best way was connecting it with the cord rather than using the wifi was mu ch faster.

The fastest home scanner that I have ever seen. So fast, that my computer had some difficulty keep up with it. The quality of the scans are great, considering how fast it is. This scanner is faster that a lot of professional business scanners. Set up may be a little difficult, since it does not come with a manual. The manual can be found in PDF form online. I wish it had a digital display for easier set up options.

This photo scanner works as designed. My experience has been fast and smooth operation with all different sizes of photos. The auto correction feature works very well particularly in cases of enhancing older photographs from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

This scanner was easy to learn and is easy to use. The scanned picture quality is great for what we are using it for and it scans as fast as Epson claims. My only suggestion is that when you are pairing this device to get it close to the wireless router. It will save time an aggravation. Once paired you can moved it nearly anywhere your wifi reaches.

Bought the FastFoto FF-680W to save family photos and historical documents and was amazed at how fast and easy it was to use. Great way of digitizing old photos and important documents. This made going through thousands of pieces of material much less of a hassle than using a flatbed scanner. The only downside is Epson provides only one plastic document holder which is not ideal. All in all, a time and history saver!

I bought this scanner to try to archive the boxes and boxes of old photos that I cleaned out of my mother's basement before we sold her house. I've only just begun but it does a great job scanning quickly and the images are nice and sharp. This scanner will also scan documents and can scan both sides at once. I've used it a couple of times and haven't adjusted the settings but at least at default settings the scans are faster but not as sharp as with my Epson all in one.

This is NOT a printer. It IS a dedicated scanner with some pretty impressive color correction software. This was purchased to tackle a family photo archive project that had around 7500 photos, letters and other pieces of media. The scanner will only take about 50 pieces of media at a time and it's best if they are of similar width. If you add media that is too different, the feeder tends to skew the image as its pulled into the scanner. The software lets you choose various scanning options like what resolution you want to scan at, color/image correction and whether you want to scan both sides of an image simultaneously if there is detectable writing on the back. It will even let you set a level of how dark the writing should be before it triggers the reverse side scan. It's also pretty darn fast. I have mine set at 600 dpi and it takes about 1 second per photo. The slow down comes when it has fed all the photos into the scanner and then must process them. Fifty photos can take around 5 minutes and its an intensive process on your computer which means that you basically can't use your computer for anything else while it processes. I'm sure your processor speed will affect the time it takes to work through the scanned images but I would still assume that your computer will be fully dedicated to the photos and useless for anything else, just for a shorter time. Epson also provides some simple archival organization software that lets you select the year of the photo batch and lets you name the batch. It's not perfect but, it's a pretty good jumping off point to set up your own way of archiving things. It's NOT a cheap machine but, if you have a lot of media like I did, it's a mere fraction of the cost of having some archival firm do it.

Purchased this as a cheaper alternative to a replacement for a network workgroup scanner. It is FAST, has great ADF capacity and image quality. I did have to setup a WPS enabled wifi router (any cheap wifi router with WPS support will work with a few settings changes). The staff who are using it LOVE it. At the price point you are well under 1/3 or less the cost of a dedicated scanner and I and my staff can find no issues this far in this unit.

I use this scanner for document scanning. It works perfectly once you set it up and the software is intuitive. The document feeder will hang up if you put too many documents in it at one time, so 50-60 is a good number. The speed is quick for a small office scanner (so much faster than my all-in-one that scans... the speed depends on how much printed material is on a page. It is expensive, but over all, this is a GREAT scanner!

I LOVE this photo scanner!! It's a bit pricey, but the $100 off helped a lot. It does a great job scanning pictures and enhancing them automatically. The speed is pretty fast also. Can scan pictures of different sizes all at once. Certainly cheaper than sending photos out to be digitalized.
