Fast and easy to use!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the FastFoto FF-680W to save family photos and historical documents and was amazed at how fast and easy it was to use. Great way of digitizing old photos and important documents. This made going through thousands of pieces of material much less of a hassle than using a flatbed scanner. The only downside is Epson provides only one plastic document holder which is not ideal. All in all, a time and history saver!

Picture scanner is awesome
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Crazy fast, super quality scanner for tons of pics. Need to follow the direction on how to keep the scanner clean. It tells you when it isn’t but in order to keep scanning without interruption, it is best to make sure you use best practices. It’s all in the start guide. I am very impressed with this scanner.

Great photo scanner small footprint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this scanner to try to archive the boxes and boxes of old photos that I cleaned out of my mother's basement before we sold her house. I've only just begun but it does a great job scanning quickly and the images are nice and sharp. This scanner will also scan documents and can scan both sides at once. I've used it a couple of times and haven't adjusted the settings but at least at default settings the scans are faster but not as sharp as with my Epson all in one.

Fast and Effective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is NOT a printer. It IS a dedicated scanner with some pretty impressive color correction software. This was purchased to tackle a family photo archive project that had around 7500 photos, letters and other pieces of media. The scanner will only take about 50 pieces of media at a time and it's best if they are of similar width. If you add media that is too different, the feeder tends to skew the image as its pulled into the scanner. The software lets you choose various scanning options like what resolution you want to scan at, color/image correction and whether you want to scan both sides of an image simultaneously if there is detectable writing on the back. It will even let you set a level of how dark the writing should be before it triggers the reverse side scan. It's also pretty darn fast. I have mine set at 600 dpi and it takes about 1 second per photo. The slow down comes when it has fed all the photos into the scanner and then must process them. Fifty photos can take around 5 minutes and its an intensive process on your computer which means that you basically can't use your computer for anything else while it processes. I'm sure your processor speed will affect the time it takes to work through the scanned images but I would still assume that your computer will be fully dedicated to the photos and useless for anything else, just for a shorter time. Epson also provides some simple archival organization software that lets you select the year of the photo batch and lets you name the batch. It's not perfect but, it's a pretty good jumping off point to set up your own way of archiving things. It's NOT a cheap machine but, if you have a lot of media like I did, it's a mere fraction of the cost of having some archival firm do it.

Wonderful little scanner !!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE this photo scanner!! It's a bit pricey, but the $100 off helped a lot. It does a great job scanning pictures and enhancing them automatically. The speed is pretty fast also. Can scan pictures of different sizes all at once. Certainly cheaper than sending photos out to be digitalized.

Nice machine

Excellent workgroup scanner
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this as a cheaper alternative to a replacement for a network workgroup scanner. It is FAST, has great ADF capacity and image quality. I did have to setup a WPS enabled wifi router (any cheap wifi router with WPS support will work with a few settings changes). The staff who are using it LOVE it. At the price point you are well under 1/3 or less the cost of a dedicated scanner and I and my staff can find no issues this far in this unit.

Easy to Use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this scanner for document scanning. It works perfectly once you set it up and the software is intuitive. The document feeder will hang up if you put too many documents in it at one time, so 50-60 is a good number. The speed is quick for a small office scanner (so much faster than my all-in-one that scans... the speed depends on how much printed material is on a page. It is expensive, but over all, this is a GREAT scanner!

Great product and super easy to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this product and I have been able to scan hundreds of photos in such a short amount of time. The best feature is the software will auto correct your photos and give you the option of keeping the original and corrected versions. This scanner will also copy the back of the photo making quick reference to any notes that were on the original photo. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Best Scanner I've Ever Used
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my Epson scanner. I was fighting a loosing battle with my copier trying to scan my photos. With the Epson Scanner, I was able to scan over 500 photos in an afternoon and it's so easy to set up and edit the pictures. I strongly recommend this scanner!

Awesome Photo Scanner worth the price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like most people of my generation, I have several thousand photos that were in albums or boxes. My goal was to convert them to digital format in the most cost and time effective manner. Sending them to some unknown entity on the internet did not give me any confidence. So I decided to do it myself. Based on customer reviews, I initially purchased the Epson Workforce 500 scanner as it was on sale at BestBuy for only $350. Unfortunately, that scanner was no good for photos. The scans were erratic, with color blow-outs. So, I finally threw in the towel and purchased the FF680W at DOUBLE the price! Wow! What a difference between the two scanners. The FF680 is specifically designed for photos with color correction software. The results were evident with my first set of scans. The software had processed the images on-th-fly! The color looked like it was on the day the shot was taken - not faded. It scanned both sides of the photos and shows me only the back side scan if something is written on it. The scanning is FAST. However, I think the wifi is slowing it down. I have yet to try using it with a hard wire USB connection. So far, I have scanned over 700 photos and have never been disappointed. Yes its expensive, but it does the job. The other good thing about it is that its a fast document scanner as well.

Very happy camper
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to digitize all my photos from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Thought to send them to someone to have them digitize but calculated I can do it cheaper by buying this. I am retired so that should answer a question from some of you. Now friends want to "rent" it from me for this own photos. The machine works very well; I am extremely satisfied. The work before of removing from the photo albums, setting them up to scan in the proper order, deciding filing system once digitized, determining how to name files, and then putting the photos back in the albums takes probably 95%+ of the time. The machine processes the pictures very quickly and produces very good copies of the photos. You get three digitized photos each time, the normal version, a light enhanced version, and the back of the picture. I have filed all three versions until later ( I am not "that retired".) when I will decide to keep the original version or the light enhanced version. It looks to be that I will choose the light enhanced versions most of the time. Just a WARNING to save you time. Decide how you want to identify the resulting digitized phots and your subsequent organized files ahead of time to save needless work after the fact.

Epson FastFoto
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson FastFoto works well overall and lives up to its names as far as speed of processing. I have had a few problems with paper jams and found that all the pictures scanned in that set have to be rescanned if that happens, or has with mine. Overall i’m happy with my purchase. It’s a good product and saves a lot of time compared to a flatbed scanner.

Amazingly fast and reliable.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazingly fast and reliable. Scanning years of photos in no time at all. The additional bonus was how well it scans documents of all sizes, including charge receipts. There are two different scan programs, one for photos and one for documents. I particularly like the automatic folder creation and ability to name it along with the photos. It's a lot of money but so far I think it's worth it just for the photos.

Surprising functional.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about the claim of scanning a photo per second. I expected a lot of jamming. Instead, I found it works as advertised, scanning stacks of photos that my contain various sizes. Scanning quality is good... no complaints. Great peace of mind knowing I have these photos backed up.

Pictures Archived
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my grandmother passed I was looking for a way to archive the over 4000 pictures she had collected throughout her 94 years. I made a promise to the family that I would be the caretaker of the pictures and get them uploaded for the family on the web for all to enjoy. At the time I knew that there were scanners to accomplish this, but what I didn't realize was how easy this could be with a scanner like this. When my Dad became ill within months of my Grandmother's passing, I began the task of capturing the pictures and sharing them with all so my father could enjoy them as well. When I finished, I created a slide show of his life and kept it playing on the Echo Show in his room throughout the day so he could enjoy the pictures and fond memories. Without this amazing product to help me finish all the pictures in a few weeks, I wouldn't have been able to provide my father with these memories. I would highly recommend this scanner for the picture quality, ease of use and while the value is somewhat steep, it was a tremendous cost savings over sending the pictures out to be scanned, not to mention the piece of mind that accompanied the purchase; knowing the pictures could get lost or damaged in the process when sending them out.

Wow!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine meets my needs with efficiency and speed for both digitizing pictures and documents. The quality of scanned pictures is impressive while still allowing for tweaking further in a separate photo editing program after the included FastFoto program enhances the original scan. This document scanner is making my big project to digitize photos and documents to reduce clutter very do-able.
