Pros -Brighter than my 2030 -Split screen (love that) -More set up options -Larger Throw for screen size -Smaller in size Cons -The throw is larger than 2030 so i will have to build a bigger screen or move the mount (not a big problem really) -No 3-D capability -Still operationally loud like the 2030 -No audio input jack for head phone type plug for older sound bars (not a big deal)

Great first projector that's a good value.

I have wanted a projector for a few years now and after doing hours of research on all the top brands, I bought this projector from Best Buy in Milwaukee, Wi. on May 19. 2018 for $549.99. It is my first ever projector. I originally wanted LED so I can avoid expensive bulb replacements but they're not available from the top companies. So a unit with affordable replacement bulb prices were also very important to me. Another issue I was concerned with after reading many reviews was, cooling fan noise. After using this projector for the last eleven days in both ECO and regular mode, I could not detect any fan noise with the program audio ON, even while sitting as close as 2 feet from the projector. If you mute the audio, you can hear minimal fan noise in regular mode and who does that and then complains about it. A few minor issues is that the focus and zoom rings are too closely ganged together making it somewhat difficult to adjust one without affecting the other, unless you are staring directly at these rings while making adjustments. This shouldn't be a problem if the projector and screen are permanently mounted and adjusted in your application but using it at work in various locations, you will have to readjust this projector frequently. Also, a Stereo audio out would have been convenient. Again, not too bad if you can extract the audio signal from the device plugged into the projector. However, my DirectTV mini box has no audio out, in this instance I purchased a 1080p HDMI to HDMI + audio (SPDIF + RCA audio) adapter for $25.00, this device is used specifically to extract the audio signal. Other than that, I would buy this projector again and I would also recommend this projector to anyone interested.

Great product, good resolution. Also customer service from EPSON is great, I had an issue after 4 year of service off warranty and they were really helpful to fix the problem with no extra charge.

    OK For the Price

Bought it because of price. It is a little difficult to align to the screen. Once it was setup I was pleased with the picture until a lot of fast movement in the movie causing some blurring. Some movies were a little grainy. Even though the main reason I picked this one was the 3100 lumen brightness, I took it back for the 2150. The difference is night and day between the two, the change was well worth the price difference. the 2150 would get 6 stars if possible. If money is a problem, the 1060 is a good option, but if not, spend the little extra and be in movie heaven.

Good to see, not to hear.

The projector itself is impressive but I'm still searching for the right projector. The image/brightness/sharpness was all great. That being said, I returned it for the following reasons: 1. No audio output. I thought I could get past this by using whatever input device for sound, but if that device is things like a Roku/Fire stick, then options are limited. 2. The external speaker is adequate for an averaged sized room but outdoors is completely lacking. 3. Fan noise that drowns out #2 above.

I previously bought the cheaper LG mini projector that had very good reviews. It was not good. So I took it back to Best Buy and opted for this one. Needless to say it's leagues better - actually is true to resolution. I love it and I can watch it even with all the lights on - mind you I dont have really bright lights. Well worth it. The only drawback for me is the lack of bluetooth for audio - that would make it perfect. Oh well, you can't have everything at this price point.

I really liked this projector for the first 2 years. It worked as advertised. Then earlier this month it stopped working completely, the blue power light goes off when I attempt to turn on the power. No lights on at all. If I unplug for 24 hours and plug in again the blue power light will be on- until I try to start again. Then all the lights go out again and it is totally dead. I suspect a bad power supply or control board. I probably only watched 20 movies with it over 2 years. I would not recommend this projector

Did not meet specifications - Fail

I have a projector that is at a 15 foot distance. At that distance the smallest width of the screen was 12 feet! My screen is 9 ft 8 inches and my ceiling mount is 15 foot from the screen or a throw ratio of 1.5. Distance/Width = throw ratio. Screen is too big! I was expecting a screen ratio of 1.5 to meet room size and screen. Admittedly the box was crushed on one side. Maybe it was damaged? Trying to return it tomorrow.

It’s a great projector, it does need to be a bit dark for you to be able to see it though. Not bad for my first projector.. I bought this almost 4 years ago and it’s been awesome

Recently purchased the Epson HC1060 . This is a awesome projector for Home theaters . Does not have any audio outputs, So having a AVR is crucial to owning this projector. But who does have a AVR for a real Home Theater?

    CANNOT CONNECT EXTERNAL SOUND

Who wants to pay this much fora projector that they can't hear!!!! Major disappointment!! It was very misleading about being a home theatre projector. Seriously. If you can't connect a sound system, why have a giant picture!!!!! Kids were so not interested. I myself am livid. Way too much money for something that is useless.

no way to connect external apeajer thru Bluetooth or HDMI cable. no' optical cable port either. on board speaker is terrible. Bad quality and can barely hear it. Can't believe Epson would not make this device capable of connecting to an external speaker.
