Great picture, specs, & awesome gaming performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson 3200 is one awesome projector. The initial set up was simple and straight forward with a very well laid out quick start guide. The menus are easy to understand and getting things set up and your settings dialed in was no problem. Connecting my PS4 Pro to test some gaming was easy. I never really thought about gaming with one, but wow its great. The picture is amazing. Games like Red Dead 2 look crazy good, like watching a movie. The gameplay is very smooth with no delay or any other issues. And of course movies look phenominal. Netflix 4K HDR is stunning. The brightness and colors pop. Bluray movies are unbelievable. It had been awhile since I watched a Bluray so I was again surprised by just how great it looks. The projector also supports 3D which is a great feature, although I dont currently have any 3D movies. One thing missing that some might no like is a lack of optical audio out. You have a 3.5mm or via Bluetooth. So you will need to consider that. But if you have a bluetooth capable soundbar or other speaker this will be fine. The remote is easy to use without going overboard with buttons to complicate things. Overall this projector is great. If you are looking for a great 4K 10 bit HDR projector, with 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 ports, amazing specs and features this is it. Amazing picture, awesome gaming performance, Bluetooth connectivity and more. Definitely a recommend.

Epson are the best at projecters!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where do I start... So first it's a decent size unit and has some heft so he sure you have room for it. Setup is super simple with the quick start menus. Epson are really good at this and make it so easy, even if your a novice with projectors. Basically you're up and going In a few moments. I came from a 1080p home cinema and boy the picture quality difference is huge! I played my Xbox one x on this and it looked amazing. The projection is really bright and HDR really makes the details come to life. Same with the Apple TV, movies and other 4K media just look amazing. Only con I really have is that it doesn't have inbuilt speakers but usually they don't sound great anyway, but it's always nice to be able to fall back on them. This is now a permanent fixture in my man cave! Love it

Lack of bluetooth compatibility
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can't connect to 3 different soundbars via bluetooth (Bose, Sony and JBL). No internal speakers. Epson support couldn't solve the problem over the phone either. Ended up returning unit.

Excellent performance!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recieved this item the other day and have been putting it through all the testing I can. First, I must say the few negatives on this. Set up was quick and intuitive, the menus and guides flow well. They include a quick guide for set up and refer to a user guide for more details on some set up options. There is no other user guide other than the quick guide, and there is nothing online yet that I can find, so I don't know what I'm missing. The other negative is not having anything else for sound out from the unit itself other than a 3.5mm or Bluetooth. Optical out is something that would have been good for my older sound system I have, but not a huge issue because I have a Bluetooth adapter to connect to, but I prefer wired for better sound. My stereo is not 4k capable either, so can't pass video and sound through that first. Those 2 negatives though are not enough of an issue to lower below 5 stars, because it works well, and that is my hang up, not the unit's issue. Now for the performance. I Utilized my 4k Roku and tested 4 different Blu-Ray players. Roku, no issues with it, picture came out in her, blacks were black, colors popped, as it was with all the inputs. I utilize an older ps3 80gb, and it streamed stuff well, It's sound worked ok with this projector. It's 3d did not work with this. Next, I used a PS3 slim 120 next, that worked excellent with the 3d glasses I purchased (2 after market active shutter glasses, non Epson brand). It's sound did not work with this via 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth, just made pops and crackle and buzzing. Likely I just need to tweak sound output setting to get it compatable. Third I tested a Panasonic 4k upscaling player I have, Sound and 3d were perfect. Finally I connected my lg 4k player, and again worked well. It would have been nice to fully experience this with optical sound back to my receiver for Dolby Surround or DTS, but I'm ok with what I did have. Eventually I will get a unit I can use to pass through and connect to this to in full 4k and surround sound glory. If you are looking for a projector that can do it all, this is one I would say can. The only difference I can see between this and the 3800 model is this has no built in speakers, but that is ok, because chances are with it, I'd still go with an external system. Looking at the future, the bulbs are affordable. This unit does run really warm, so I recommend vary adequate ventilation, but I don't think it's really any warmer than other projectors I worked with. I think anyone who purchases this will be happy.

Impressive 4K projector
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Epson Home Cinema 3200 is a very capable projector at an extremely attractive price point. It arrived well-packaged , and included an IR remote, power cord, lens cap, and quick start guide. A full user guide is available for download on the Epson website. Once unboxed, setup took just a few minutes. I placed the projector on a shelf approximately 12 feet from the screen and seven feet above the floor. At this distance, an image much larger than my room and 100” screen will allow is absolutely possible. Lens shift in both vertical and horizontal planes is available to center the image on the screen, and keystone correction is available if the projector cannot be placed in a perfectly level position. Once setup, centered on the screen, and focused, a quick connection to my AVR’s HDMI out had me ready for movies and sports on an enormous scale! I watched movies and Netflix content in both 1080p and 4k formats, as well as several college football games and TV shows. The picture was sharp and bright with vibrant color. Some sources exhibited judder when panning across landscapes or following motion, but since this was only present with a few sources, and not at all noted while watching live sports, and material from DirecTV, I believe it may be an issue with the source material or streaming service as opposed to a defect with the projector. If the projector were at fault, the issue would exist regardless the source material. Blu Ray content was stunning, and also judder-free. The Home Cinema 3200 does not have a 12 volt trigger port. If you will be using it with a screen that requires this function, you will need to step up to the Home Cinema 3800. If you are looking for an awesome 4k image, and don’t want to break the bank, the Epson Home Cinema 3200 is a great choice.

Bright and Crisp Projection
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This projector worked perfectly as designed. It is for home use and it is large (6” high by 16” wide by 13” depth) and has a super bright image projection. There are all the requisite adjustments for focus and ensuring the sides of the projected picture are square i.e. ±30° keystone correction. You can access both basic and more detailed functions from the included remote. It does not have speakers and since the ‘quick start’ guide is for both the 3200 and 3800 models you might think it does like I did which resulted in a call to tech support. The call went excellent. They answered within 30 seconds and advised me it did not have speakers (I did feel a little lame, but I do have two other Epson projectors that have speakers). However even better in regards to speakers, it actually does have Bluetooth. I was able to use the on-screen menus without looking at the user manual and anyone can easily figure out how to pair an external speaker. Since there are many re-chargeable Bluetooth speakers both indoors and outdoors types, it really is a better way to go. The internal speakers always sound ‘tinny’ anyway. The Bluetooth capability is also used to pair optional 3D glasses. It does have a USB port that you can insert an optional WiFi dongle; and this will give the device the ability to work over a network which is really nice. It also has a USB charging port which is very handy so that you can be charging your Bluetooth speaker if necessary while operating the speaker and the projector. It has 4K resolution and this is a big deal as far as clarity of a large image (up to 300” screen size) which tested flawlessly from my laptop HDMI connection. The only design change I would suggest is to have type of front feet that slide down quickly to aim the projector. The front feet here are adjusted by screwing the foot up or down which is a relatively slow process, but is more precise. It would also be nice at this price point, to include both the WiFi dongle and a pair of the optional 3D RF active shutter glasses (yes it has a 3D viewing mode). This is no toy, it is expensive but it is a superior home projector with a beautiful lens, a powerful cooling fan and a very bright/sharp output - it also has a 2 year parts/labor warranty and a great phone support desk. I certainly recommend this solid and powerful unit as an excellent projector for your home screen (or even wall) viewing.

Great addition to the media room!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although we have a decently sized, upper-end Samsung 4K TV, sometimes we wished we could watch our movies on a bigger screen. I'd been looking around for a few years, and even though prices for true 4K native projectors have come down quite a bit in the last few years, they are still quite expensive. If you are like us and don't want to go for spending a lot, luckily, there are other, almost as good options. The Epson Home Cinema 3200 is a great option at a great price! While not native 4K, it uses pixel shifting technology (that many other mid-range 4K projectors use) to present a 4K image, and it does it quite well. The 3200 has an impressive 2900 lumen lamp for better brightness and image clarity. The contrast ratio is on 40,000:1 (compared to the 3800 at 100,000:1), but I don't feel it makes much of a difference (we don't really require the darkest blacks). There are three Power Consumption modes, High, Medium and Eco, which can affect the Lamp Life (3000 - 5000 hours, depending on selection). The 3200 doesn't have built-in speakers (would need to step up to the 3800 for that, and a few other additional features), but does have an Audio Out port (if you are connecting a streaming device directly to the projector) or you can pair bluetooth speakers, headphones or a bluetooth-enabled receiver. There are two USB ports, with one that should provide enough power to a streaming device without having to plug it in to an outlet. Unfortunately, there is no built-in wi-fi, but you can purchase a wireless module (may only be useful for casting directly to the projector from your phone or laptop). The image size can be up to 200", depending on how back the projector can be placed. While we were waiting for the screen to arrive, I first started trying it out just on a wall. It was already looking really good on a beige-ish, flat paint wall, so I couldn't wait to get the screen installed! We have the projector mounted to the ceiling, and was able to easily make the adjustments to flip the projector image (once I got used to working the menu with the image upside down :). After adjusting the horizontal lens shift, a few keystone adjustments, we were ready to go! Please note, if you are mounting it, be sure the mount arms extends enough to span the diagonal (a little less than 15.5"). During my research, some of the lower-priced ones wouldn't quite extend enough. Once we were finally able to start watching on the screen (just a mid-range, manual pull-down 100", 16:9 screen), after getting some of the different display settings changed to our liking, the image looks really, really good! We will be watching our content through our Xbox One S (blu-ray, Netflix, Amazon Video, etc.), which the goes through a receiver before going to the projector or TV. Watching though all sources have looked great so far. I didn't intentionally search view any HDR content, but there were some shows that probably were HDR, and it looked very nice, very vivid. I tried a few 4K shows and it was surprisingly sharp, even though this projector is not a true native 4K projector. For full-HD (1920x1080) movies, I really didn't seem much of a difference with 4K Enhancement (upscaling) turned on or off. This projector is also 3D-capable and watching in 3D looks great!! It uses active shutter 3D glasses, which you can purchase Epson (the recommended ones are rechargeable) or probably just about any brand. We happen to have Samsung active shutter 3D glasses for our TV, and they connect to and work great with the projector! Once thing I don't see available is a 3D conversion of 2D video, which is a feature our Samsung TV has. This not a huge issue for us since we rarely used this, but would have been nice to have. There are four different Color modes: - Dynamic - which does give a really good, brighter picture, but the downside is the cooling fan is fairly loud. - Bright Cinema - also a good picture, brighter, but fan is still a little louder, but not as much as Dynamic - Natural - Cinema Dynamic and Bright Cinema are meant for bright or not completely dark room, while Natural and Cinema are for dark rooms (which our media room is completely dark). I really didn't see much of a difference between Natural or Cinema, but fan is very quiet. You can still manually adjust brightness along with the other video setting, if desired, and fan level stays quiet. I've been using Natural and it is just fine for us. There are also 5 preset Image Enhancement options. For us, "Preset 5" looks the best. You can also change the Deinterlacing setting, which can convert interlaced to progressive (probably recommended to leave off for fast-moving video) So far, we really think this is a great 4K projector for the home theater and is more budget-friendly.

Better Than a TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owning a projector was not something I thought about much but I have been really happy with this one so far. Our old TV was dying so we decided to give projectors a try. Getting this set up and going out of the box was a breeze. I connected the projector to my spare laptop in my living room. Total set up time was about 15 minutes. I really think after using this for two weeks that I will use this instead of getting a TV. The picture is clear and makes everything feel like I am watching a movie at the theater. This is a review for the Epson Home Cinema 3200 projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I play it on the wall and the screen is 150” diagonally. It also plays 3D movies and my guests are always in awe by the spectacle. Get the warranty for peace of mind
