3D OK, if you care about that.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted 3D, and it is better on DLP projectors. There is ghosting I never saw with DLP. I wanted soap opera effect, and it is just OK. I heard the Sonys are really good with frame interpolation. Sonys are too expensive. You must be on the highest lamp setting with 3D, or it is too dark. It does look good on the highest setting, but it is very loud on this setting in quieter scenes. Cant do frame interpolation in 4k, so I dont ever use 4k. I could not tell the difference between 4k and 1080p at 106 inches, anyway. I can tell the difference on my 75 inch LG, though. I should have spent more for a 5050UB, for better brightness and better blacks. I would actually give it 3 and a half stars. The things I prefer, people dont usually care about. Without 3d, it looks good in eco mode. If you dont care about 3d, I would give it four to four and a half stars.

Epson 4010
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not quite 5* in 2021. The 4k in 30hz is the small hit on this projector. Otherwise, very nice and very responsive. Really nice picture, though fast motion and motion during scenes with high contrast differences are a little troublesome for this unit. I would definitely recommend this projector for the price vs features.

4k is A.O.K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently decided to up grade my current 3D Epson project for a 4k one. After a few months of research I rested on the Epson 4010. The 1080p is perfect, the 3D is still impressive and the 4k is blowing my mind. Now they state this is not true 4k but only enhanced. It still plays 4k content from players, roku and gaming systems. The image is satisfying and beautiful.

Can't be beat for price and if you need LCD.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This projector is not for those who are not tech/AV geeks. You will not get great picture from this without some configuration, setup and calibration. Possibly professional help. Do not think this thing comes out of the box and just makes pretty HUGE picture. It does do that, but it requires patience up front. My assumption is this is on sale with the free Roku for $1800 or less. Thats what is review is based on. Otherwise wait because its been on sale for that since two weeks after release. This projector is NOT 4K, it does not display 4K, it does not project anything more than 1920 x 1080 pixels with some shifty business to increase the fill and give a more solid picture. If you are not affected by DLP rainbow effect definiltey shop some DLP 4K native projectors as well. With that said the 4010 will accept 4k input and HDCP 2.2 signals which is valuable depending on what you watch and do. It will NOT accept a 4k 60hz HDR 4:4:4 input but it is supposed to accept a 4k 60hz non-HDR 4:4:4 . I have not been able to get it to accept or prove beyond 4k 60hz 4:2:0. 24fps and 30fps 4K HDR can and does work. Validated that 24fps 4K HDR does work from PS4 Blu Ray. The features of this projector are the quiet operating noise relative to other projectors, the electronic motorized adjustments for lens shift, zoom and focus. No problem getting the projector to display a 100" picture inside of a 11' 6" room so not short throw but shorter throw than others. Gaming is great and input lag is somewere under 30milliseconds. If you are not doing hardcore desktop FPS games the response is plenty fast for reliable gaming. I have played more than 200 gaming hours from Assassins Creed, Red Dead, etc. Movies look great. You have to get or build a decent-enough screen or you will have a mediocre picture. The darker the room and walls the better.

So glad we picked this one
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our Old projector with this one after it started showing red on the bottom (and it was not the bulb). The picture on this is good (much better than our old one). Good in light but really good in dark. We did have to move it back 5 feet to fit our 160” screen so you might want to check the throw distance of projector models before buying.

Great Projector
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this home projector Sept 10 and me and my wife really loved it. She kicked me out of the theater room. Now I have to wait for her to get done before I go in there. Excellent clarity in the pictures. I will recommend this projector to my friends and family's.

Good middle of the road choice
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great projector. Was looking at the 5030 model, but decided the price difference was worth it. I use this maybe six to 12 hours per week. Movies look great. Live sports are good. Your video source is important. Clean signal, good picture. Some channels for sports look better than others. Netflix and anything other content played through appleTV look great.

I like it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first projector. I am impressed. However I wish it was easier to compare other projectors some way without dealing with the restocking fees. I imagine there are better projectors when it comes to the dark blacks but no way for me to know without spending more money. Overall though, very satisfied.

Excellent movie projector
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent projector for the money. Very bright and has a motorized lens. Yes, you can’t do 4K and 60 frames a second. But I bought this to watch movies not to play video games on. However you can play video games at 1080p or 1440p at high frames rates and I can’t tell a difference

Professional quality at a consumer level price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a pretty unique situation needing to have a 17 foot throw to an 84" screen. This was about the only projector that we could find under about $4,000.00 that would do the trick, and let me tell you, it does fantastically. We utilize it in a well lit living room that sits facing our pool area. Unfortunately, there are some windows and a large patio door that allow a lot of light in. I was really worried that the only time we would be able to enjoy the projector was at night, but we were extremely surprised by not only the brightness of this projector and how easy it was to see even in daylight, but also the quality of the blacks and overall picture. I love the automatic lens cover, and it looks great mated to a 4k Apple TV! THE ONLY DRAWBACKS*** It is a MUCH larger unit than most, and weighs 24 pounds. Definitely let the Geek Squad mount this on the ceiling for you. Also, there's no internal speakers, but we solved that issue by using a Bose soundlink connected to an Apple TV via blueooth. No delay, great sound!

Great projector with an amazing picture!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can not go wrong with this projector! Picture quality is amazing, I'm projecting on a 150" screen and this looks crazy good. So far I've watched movies, played games through an Xbox Series X and most importantly watched sports including hockey (no puck blur at all) and they all look great on this. Setup was pretty easy especially with all the controls and adjustments done through the remote ( no climbing up a ladder to adjust settings). This unit is big! It looks massive on the ceiling and when people see it they are amazed at the size and they think it cost a fortune. It is also very quiet, you can barely hear it when you turn it on and if there is any sound from what you are watching you can't tell it is there. Over all I am extremely happy with my purchase. This is my first projector and I did a lot of research before purchasing it. You will not regret purchasing this projector.
